Dippin' Dots weren't all that special to me as a kid, because I usually preferred some Nestle or Selecta Ice Cream to satisfy my frozen dairy cravings. They'd be all the rage in some of the fancy kids' parties I attended as a kid, where the kids would line up many times to get their Dippin' Dots fix. I think the concept is pretty unique - ice cream in dot form, and in many different colors and shades for a bunch of flavors - and good for a few tries. Still, they have some yummy flavors like Rainbow Dots and Banana Split (where you can actually taste the banana!) that look great on my Instagram feed. Now though, Dippin' Dots is even more expensive than before, and that only makes me find the establishment more "meh" than "wow". Artisanal ice cream is pushing them out, and while I don't enjoy Dippin' Dots quite as much, it's sad to see it grow smaller. read more
