I'll be brief because obviously many people feel the same about Cees, her assistant and her doggy spa. She is really a gret groomer. I have two Old English Sheepdogs and I am very particular about the way they look. I found out about DD at Cardiff Dog Days. My usual groomer couldn't get us in so I called Dippity Dog. Needless to say, I will not be returning to the old groomer. Cees just did such a perfect job on both dogs. I have on a Lhasa apso and a Shitzu for the last 10 years or so and if you are familiar with these breeds you know that I have paid for a lot of grooming. In the early years I tried a few places out and they were OK but eventually we settled on Dippity Dog. Simply put this is the best grooming establishment I have ever had the honor of using. Cies The owner is not only one of the coolest people I've ever met but also runs her place hands-on with true love and commitment. As we all know our pets are like children to us and it means the world to me to know that not only is she getting a great haircut and bath but also being treated with kindness and attention. I've taken my sweet Shorkie here 4 times!!! It's right around the corner from our house So I really, really wanted to like this place,but the groomers there aren't good!! One time when I picked him up, he didn't even smell like he had had a bath!! When I told them they said there was no way that could happen. But 3 days later I had to bath him. Will not be going back. I've used this shop for self-serve washes since the mid 1990's. It kinda set the standard for the self-serve dog washes in the county back in the day. Never really had issues, even thou ownership has changed over the years. The staff has almost always been friendly and helpful. Only problem is that place could really really really use a face lift and update all around now, and that doesn't appear to be occurring anytime soon. There's too much competition in the area offering much more modern and enjoyable facilities. I highly recommend Dog Spot (also in Oceanside) for self-washes these days. read more

I have been a customer of Dippitty Dog for nearly a decade and have never had anything but great experiences! From my German Shepard, Mastiff, Chinese Crested, to my American Hairless Terrier, my dogs have always been cared for, groomed, and loved on famously! I took my mini Aussie in today for a basic bath and trim and as usual the groomer did an outstanding job! The staff is always so polite and they make sure to meet any request regarding your pet. I was very pleased with their service the first time, so when my dog needed nail trimming again I immediately decided to return. Their business is extremely easy to find, clean, and very friendly staff. Nail trimming is as a walk-in, no appointment required so we were quickly met upon arrival. They are so wonderful at Dippity Dog. I have been going there for about 16 years. I started with the previous owners and about 10 years ago it changed hands. They are so wonderful to my dogs. The owner, Cees the dogs just love. Actually, they are all terrific here. I get them groomed. I had 1 dog, Max, for many years then started taking another, Hurley, my family and I adopted. They were always happy to go there, They never were whining or barking when I left. The older one got a muscle debilitating disease I would bring him in and they still took care of him. Now the older one is gone and we have two again. The puppy, Maggie, and the now older one love it there. They get so much love. All this is so important to me. A huge plus is why I started bringing them in the first place, to be groomed. They do an excellent job. The dogs always look and smell great. I used to get the fur for the first one cut. He looked great! I get the spa package for my labs and they come home with cute bandanas. There face feels soft, because they get facials! They get their teeth brushed among other things. Before, while they are waiting they have an outside for them. Afterwards they are waiting for me, hooked on with their leashes on the wall. They aren't caged like when I went to one place. As long as we have dogs, and we always will, we will keep coming to Dippity Dog! read more

Just took my chihuahua/wiener in today for a nail clipping because my pregnant butt couldn't chase her down and pin her to cut them anymore. $10 for a nail trimming. No appointment was required. I walked in and out in about 5 minutes, and the woman that took care of her was very sweet to her on the table. She didn't even nip the quick. I will definitely be bringing Lucy back for future manicures. I rate only 4 stars because I haven't used the self-wash part so I can't really rate on that. read more

We absolutely love the care our dogs receive here. We have been going here for years and when we had a really nervous new rescue they were able to calm and groom him when no one else could. We now run in every few weeks with three dogs for nail trimming. The owner and staff always help us rotate them for their trims really quickly so not one of them has time to get nervous and we never have to wait! read more

I have been going to this groomer/self wash establishment for as long as I've had my now almost 8 year old Black Lab, she loves it, I love it, it's close to where I live and I have had no reason to go anywhere else. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and not just about grooming, but the well-being and care of my beautiful dog. They really seem to take a personal approach and have a passion for animals in general. They recently did a remodel, it's always nice, clean and welcoming. Took our dog for a self-service pet wash recently. Nothing fancy, but great way to get the job done. Staff was very friendly and helpful when we came in. We were greeted immediately and assisted with supplies and tips and instructions on how to use equipment. Made it much easier to to get our large dog washed, and I didn't have to scrub my whole bathroom after. We will definitely be back! read more

Was nervous about my goldens cut because of the last grooming experience :/ (different groomers) but Susie did a great job on Ruffio! His cut is perfect! Lewis looks dapper as well. I dropped off our Shitzu at 11:30 (his appt time). Groomer agreed to take off half of his fur, so he'd remain with his fur several inches long. I arrived 5 hours later to find our dog getting shaved with clippers. His fur was practically bald. I asked her to stop and please use scissors because she was about to use clippers on his face. I also asked why he was so short. Groomer's response was that she's a new groomer, doesn't know how to use scissors and had too many dogs. I wish she would've told me this when I dropped him off. I love Dippity Dog. I went to the Gaslamp for the weekend and didn't want to leave my cat Clarence home alone. He loves attention and tends to get separation anxiety. I'm one of those crazy pet owners and want the best for him. Clarence stayed overnight in a huge cat condo for 2 days. It was clean with freshly washed bedding. The staff took care of him like their own. They called me and gave updates on how he was doing. He was so comfortable there I don't think missed me much. I picked him up this morning and I was greeted at the door with a smile. His bowls were full of fresh water and food. The cat box was spotless. The cost was great. The dogs in doggie day care were all happy & the people using self serve were happy too. The staff was on top of anything they needed. I live in Huntington Beach so Dippity Dog is a drive for me. It was very well worth the drive and I wouldn't take my spoiled brat anywhere else. I definitely will recommend this place to all my friends and family. BEWARE OF DIPPITY-DOG GROOMING. Not only did this so-called dog groomer scalp my six-pound silver toy poodle, but they SHAVED OFF HER BOBBED TAIL AND LIED. Now, it will probably take a year for it to grow back. They claimed she was matted. This dog is a prized pet and gets groomed monthly and brushed every other day. There's no way that her fur was matted. I could put up with a closely-cut grooming, but to shave off her bobbed tail is unforgivable. Plus, the owner lied to me and claimed she told my husband that my dog would need to be completed shaved. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS SO-CALLED GROOMER AND I HOPE OTHERS WILL BE FOREWARNED!!!! read more

My family and I have been using Dippity dog for almost 10 years and 4 puppies later - all different (pug mix, cocker spaniel, corgi mix and a chug). In the last three times we have sent our fur babies - the 9 year old pug mix came home twice with puncture wounds to her face and now I am at the vet as the 5 year old corgi is injured from what appears to be a fall. The vet thinks it is from her falling off a grooming table. Her whole right side is swollen and she is in terrible pain. While we try to be budget minded on our costs we spurge to have our fury babies groomed and to spend the day in daycare - sadly we now have three vet bills due... All totaling over $150 each or more. I'm sorry I just can't take them back there. It's sad as I thought that Dippty dog would at least tell me if my fur baby was injured but each time... Nothing. When I did call them on the puncture wounds they argued with me that there was nothing wrong with her when they last looked at her. read more

I am giving this place 2 stars, only because the people at the front desk are friendly and their facility is clean and set up well, and the price was average ($40 for a small dog grooming.) I dropped my dog off and was told that it would take 4 hours, that was fine, that is normal for a groomers. I came back about 4 hours later, because I had finished my target shopping run a little early just to see if she was done, she had not been touched at all, and the groomer told me that it would take another 30 minutes, at which point I just nicely said please take as long as you need to do what you need to. I was given a call about 20 minutes later, my dog was cut, but prior to leaving her I had talked directly to the groomer and asked her not to cut her "beard" much at all because I didn't want her to look "ratty", when I returned as soon as I saw her, you could tell she had not been washed, she was too short all over, and her beard was totally gone, cut a little crooked, and there were a few long pieces that she had just forgot to cut. The groomer acted irritated when I asked her to at least cut the long hairs and if she had bathed her. She walked into the back and said, " I'm going on break." The person at the front tried to make it better, but would not give me a discount, and didn't know if my dog had actually even been washed. I won't go there again, I think there are many more places that have better service for the same price. read more

I am very upset with dippity dog. My dog had an appointment for a full grooming & they called to cancel an hour before her appointment because of her age. When I made the appointment I said she was 6 months and asked if that limits the days she can be seen & I was told she just can't come in on Saturdays so I made the appointment for Sunday which worked perfect with my work schedule during the week. My family has always taken their dogs to dippity dog & love it there, that is why I decided to trust them with my dog. Unfortunately with this one experience I will have to find another dog groomer. read more

I don't use the self wash, I have their wonderful groomers take care of my doggie and they are the best. I have gone to several others and they would not or could not cut the dog's nails without freaking him out. Now my dog goes here and doesn't mind it. He doesn't run for the door like he did at other places. They are the best groomers in the area!!! read more

They do a nice job on my 75 pound flat coat retriever. He hates vets, Pet Smart and dog washes, but they handle him well, call as soon as he is finished, and he doesn''t have to spend 1/2 a day waiting. I would and have recommended them to friends. read more

I had made an appt for Cooper for 1030a today for bath & grooming. Groomer told me he would be done at 130p. The drop off was good. Groomer was nice and even offered to hold the leash while I fill out registration card. So round 127p I called them since I didn't get a call and was told he would be ready by 215p. So we headed over there by 210p. Was greeted by a female who asked me for my pets name and then asked did we call you? Told her no I called and was told 215p and then I asked was he ready. Girl came back and said yes and it was $45. Then she brought out my boy who was in a kennel. Then I seen his leash where he had bitten 2 good size cuts thru it. I asked her how long was he in the kennel and she didn't know & went to ask the Groomer. She told me he was in the kennel for 30mins! Why? If he was ready 30mins ago why wasn't I told to come & get him?!! The leash wasn't usable with the rips in it so I asked is there a leash I can get & she pointed to the ones for sale. Damn you left him in a kennel for 30mins & I'm gonna have to buy this?! That's when she said no I can have it. Copper is a ESA and not use to be away from me & I told them that. We had come here before and had good service no complaints but now I won't be coming here anymore. Not worth it. Would have given NO STARS but it wouldn't let me. Also I live in Escondido now so never coming back. Heard that K9 is a great place for my boy...k9 resort here we come! read more

I have a cocker spaniel named London. I brought her here with the instructions to give her a "summer hair cut" . The groomer did a pretty good job with her and I was pleased with the final results. I also told him not to cut around her face or head and they did listen. Happy Customer! read more
