So I've decided to give Sydnees Pet Grooming 5 stars but truly it would have been 4.5. First off, scheduling was a piece of cake! They had availability the week of, which was amazing. They even confirm and remind you of the appointment via text, which is always appreciated and easy to transfer to my Google calendar. I was feeling guilty about my matted pup. I received judgment from past groomers, which is totally understandable, but I'm sensitive! When I brought my dog in, I received a lot of compassion from Maria. She was incredible. She asked a lot of questions about my pup, including her past grooming experiences, and maybe areas that might be sensitive for her. She kept her word with how long the appointment would last and reached out to me 20 minutes before before the end of the appointment. My dog looks so comfortable and clean. The grooming included a full haircut bath and cut nails. The costs very depending on the size of the dog but I believe their base cost is $80. Matting is an additional $30. They have other options for maintenance, which includes a full groom or a bath and brush. Scheduling follow up appointments is easy and can be done over the phone. If they send a text, you can confirm cancel or reschedule the appointment. Area is clean open and there is a small area for dog goodies, including bones, trash bags, and stuff for grooming. I really appreciated my experience and plan to return in the future. Thanks Maria for being a great groomer and for your compassionate and efficient service. The only thing that I was not a fan of which could just be me is that they charge a credit card fee they'll add a 4% fee on top of your payment, but I could just be prickly. read more

So disappointed with my dogs haircut. I booked the works and all we asked was to make him look cute! The cut is not blended at all. He has these weird long hairs by his nose. It looks like they cut him wet. Definitely did not blow dry him out. He usually looks cute and fluffy and even after a haircut. I honestly could've done a better job myself. Called Wednesday about my dogs nail trim. He's big and grumpy when getting his nails cut so the young lady told me to come in Thursday or Friday so that the manager could help since he's stronger. I called twice with no answer. I loaded the dog up and drove to the shop only for the lights to be turned off, door locked, and nobody answering the phone. The young lady told me she would put me on the schedule. I wasted my time because they wanted to close early on a Friday. It was 3:15 when I arrived. Just stay closed if you're not going to be open during normal business hours. Update: I explained I would come at 3. I called at 2:45 with no answer. Because everyone went home to try and start the weekend early. I get it but change the hours on yelp or just stay closed on Friday if you don't want to work. Widely unprofessional and the reply shows that as well. Horrible customer service read more

I've been bringing my dog Oreo here for about a little over a year and I can't say enough great things about the groomers! Oreo is a very anxious dog and is terrified of other dogs. They always make sure she's comfortable and always listen to my concerns. Scheduling is super easy when calling. I would say this location is probably second busiest to their other locations in north county. So book quick! For my medium sized dog I get a full groom every time which includes a bath, deshedding, nail trim, and ear cleaning. It's $80 and I usually tip about $15. I think the price is great compare to other groomers who charge an arm and a leg for a full groom. Oreo always comes back very happy and smelling great. 10/10 experience. read more

Brought both of our puppies here. Our first puppy's hair cut was ok. But I didn't know exactly what I wanted, groomer did their best to do what I asked, was a decent cut but I blame myself for not knowing exactly what I wanted. Then brought our second puppy here. Groomer did an amazing job. Was his first grooming experience too! Gonna continue to bring out pups here. Prices are comparable to other groomers. They are very friendly and prompt at getting pups back in a timely manner. Appreciate the customer service. read more

I like to give credit where credit is due. I don't always write a five star review. It is well deserved. Our dog (a mini Aussie), is high energy, and can be a wiggle worm if she is not comfortable with how she is being handled. Yet the groomer was able to accomplish everything we asked for, and did a fantastic job. When we picked up our dog, she was happy and not stressed at all. She looked great and smelled great. I don't know the name of the groomer, but we hope to use her in the future. A petite blond girl. read more

Honestly, I just want to schedule an appointment, but this company does not want to make that easy. I enjoy the services, but feeling like I have to beg for an appointment.... Terrible! Sam (the manager or whoever calls you back after you leave several messages to make an appointment when the website doesn't work), gives you the "dO yOu HaVe tHe pOpUp bLoCkEr TurNed OfF?" This is an update to my previous review based on my experience today vs my experience on 01/16/2023. I'll remind everyone that Chip is extremely high strung/nervous and doesn't do well outside of his home. I chose to return to Sydnee's based on his experience in January. They offer a "quick wash" which includes a bath and a quick dry, which leaves him damp. January's visit was quick, Chip was done in 30 minutes. This visit took over an hour. I did ask to have his nails filed today but I was told it would only be an additional 5-10 minutes. January's visit Chip left damp (as I was informed). This visit he was wet, so wet I'd be surprised if they even towel dried him. January's visit he came home smelling clean. This visit, he smells like a wet dog. January's visit I was charged $35 for the quick wash. This visit I was charged $42 for the quick wash. The groomers who worked on Chip in January were not the same groomers who were working today. I don't know if the previous groomers are still working for Sydnee's. If they are, I might return if I'm able to schedule with them. If they are no longer employed at Sydnee's, then I will be looking for a new groomer. read more

I'd rate them 4.5 stars! Pros: They are fast but through. The staff is kind and understanding. And I got nearly exactly what I asked for. Plus a cute little matching flower on her collar! I asked for a poodle kennel cut, without a shaved tail or paws. They did not shave them. However the cut was a little short for a poodle kennel cut. I'm ok with this though since it's been so hot! Mehs: *For context, this was my dog's first groom, so she may have been wiggly. However she is very used to being groomed at home.* Speaking of, I would have liked a little more communication. All dogs are different, and it would have been nice for them to try to get to know mine better so they know how to care for her better. It was pretty much just "Hi, what cut do you want?". But not a super big deal. I did not get any details as to what I paid for on the receipt. I have no idea if I had to pay for any dematting or anything other extras. That would have been nice. Cons: The face is a bit uneven. It's only noticeable when pointed out however. One side is blended out into the shaved muzzle, while the other is blunt. They cut her armpit a tiny bit, and trimmed too close on her butt and gave her a pretty bad razor burn. BUT: These things happen, she was probably wiggling and so the tiny cut is understandable and sometimes unavoidable. The razor burn on her bottom (pictured but not well. It's much redder irl) probably could have been avoided however. It was not a spot that needed to be cut that close. Lastly, they didn't require any proof of vaccination. Plus they let a German shepherd approach and kiss my dog, which is super sweet and probably calmed my dog. But they had no idea if my pup was nice and if she would've started a fight. Plus the vaccine proof thing. Yuck. Over all though, I'm pleased. I was quoted over the phone $80-100 and paid $130 for a 60lb poodle/lab mix. Not the best price, but the norm for this kind of service. My fur baby is soft and happy. Tail is still fluffy as I requested! I only bring up the negatives as this is a review and I want to be thorough, both for potential customers and the staff who may not be aware. Everything else was as expected. Sydnee's to the rescue! Everyone in the San Diego area seems to have a two week backlog. I was 30 minutes late to my appointment at a big pet store (like a bone head), was offered a new appointment two weeks later, and I desperately needed a new appointment quicker. I've been to Sydnee's a few times. I've used their Twin Oaks and Centre City locations and have always been very satisfied with their results. As I called around I was informed of this semi-new location (in Oceanside) and that they are relatively more available since not everyone has caught on that this location exists... After I got home I attempted for about 10 minutes to take some after-photos for this review, these three are the best I could pull off. Please excuse my humor, poor guy was over his photo-shoot after the first 30 seconds. Hopefully you can see how well they do legs, around the eyes, and sanitary area. I'm very happy and consider this groom money well spent. I went all in for a large dog: bath with oatmeal for sensitive skin, clip, nails, the works. Cost me $130 and then I tipped a bunch. The big pet stores are a little cheaper, but I get better results From Sydnee's. I have experienced a better job performed at Sydnee's when it comes to my dogs paws, how they trim the mats my dog gets around his ears, and how they trim to keep the hair around his eyes blended into the rest of his cut. Other places kind of do a hack job... not here though. Thank you Sydnee's! Five stars for a job well done and fitting me into your schedule much quicker than anywhere else I called. read more

Other groomers always say that Yoshi my 15 year old Pekingese was a "difficult client". Often times not cutting his nails even though they charged me for it. At Sydnees no matter which groomer they always say he was great just a little wiggly with the nails . Also I can schedule the Appointment for the very next day which is a great pleasure because my job never lets me have a set schedule. Yoshi always leaves happy and cut exactly how I want. I brought my two cats and one dog in today (my appointment was originally just for my cats but i asked if they could squeeze in my dog when i arrived this morning), cats for flea dip and dog for a quick scrub. The quick scrub included just a bath and a partial blow dry, only $20 which was great, and the staff were really friendly and welcoming, though check in was very quick and not very thorough i dont even believe she asked my dogs name before she told me she'd reach out to me when they were done, All was fine until almost 3 hours had passed and i hadn't heard anything (i requested to get calls to pick them all up individually) and they hadn't even started one of my cats or my dog. I asked if they had just been sitting there the whole time, and to my suprise, they told me my dog has been playing with two other dogs. Keeping in mind they did not ask me for proof of vaccination for any of my animals so who knows if any of the other animals were vaccinated, and there is a whole dog virus currently going around so i was quite upset to find out my dog was playing with other dogs without my knowing or permission. I really liked the guy that groomed them he was very nice but the safety and professionalism just wasn't there. I will not be coming back. edit: on top of that when i was checking in a girl places a dog on the table with and extra grooming loop by itself as a form of restraint while she checked in my three animals which really just didn't seem very safe as the dog was jumpy and excitable.. read more

I desperately needed to switch groomers and these guys gave me a same day appointment, did a beautiful job, and most importantly in record time ON A HUSKY.
