I not only wanted to write a review online, but I also wanted to let you know personally about our…read moreagent Tammy Garfield. Working together with her excellent communication has been a wonderful experience. We have been with Southgroup Insurance-Gulf Coast for 3 years now and are thrilled with the professionalism and personal care. Switching over was the best decision we have made with our insurance needs. From learning what services are offered to insurance terms, Tammy has taught us the understanding of the process better than we ever knew before with our previous providers. We trust that she gets as many quotes as possible for comparison to save us money and get the services we need. She explains any quotes from what we are reading to what we are signing before signing any document. Confirming any changes we may have has always been important to her and we appreciate that as well. We always know when she will be out and who we can contact if we have any concerns while she is out, but we usually wait because we feel so secure with her. She answers our emails and voicemails either within minutes or by the end of the day. Any of our questions that the carriers are needed for, she works on it immediately and keeps us posted if there is any delay on the carrier's side. We are greatly pleased with the service from Tammy and feel like family with the care she puts into her professionalism! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let me know. Email is my best way of communication because I am part time and will get back within a few days to a week. Thank you! TRISH OWEN

My experience with this company has been consistently terrible! For almost 3 years I have endured a…read morenumber of frustrating and disappointing communications and issues steeped in more than simply a lack of professionalism. What I have encountered has been more along the lines of a lack of knowledge about what professionalism is and why it is important for all parties to demonstrate in any business relationship. The final straw with them was the receipt of a letter listing a number of items that would be required for me to address on the property, if I wanted to avoid cancelation of my policy. I was shocked because, other than one of the items (handrails on three doors), they had nothing to do with insurance. But, with "lemming-like" obedience, I took care of the items. During the process, we had a number of tropical events that caused disruptions, not to mention COVID, so I was given a 2 week extension to complete the items. I sent pictures of the handrails to Mrs. Clark when they were done, as they were the only item related to insurance liability. The other items were completed within a couple of days afterward. I compiled the photos and was about to send everything to Mrs. Clark when she sent me a last second email informing me that there was a particular format and a "snail mail" process that was required to be used, as they would not accept any emailed submissions. Well, that was "it" for me! First of all, I didn't see it as my place to be sending verification of these things. But when I learned that email would not be acceptable, when it had been used by them to notify me of the obligation of addressing these items on the property, I refused to mail the information to them and left it up to them to reinspect the property. They opted to cancel my policy. I was appalled because I felt like they should have been reinspecting the property themselves, rather than having me, their customer, running around town to do "homework" for their benefit. And when I asked Mrs. Clark why they couldn't reinspect the property, she absolutely reinforced my entire position when she replied that they do not reinspect because it is not their ubderwriter's "policy" because of the "time and expense" involved...of course! But it is my contention that it remains their "responsibility", regardless of their underwriter's "policy". And it is not okay, to try to shift responsibility to one's customer, placing the additional undue time and expense of the whole scenario onto me, their customer! Then, she actually told me that, "...it is not our job to reinspect."! What??? Of course, it is their "job" because it was them who created the need! The customer's job is to pay their premium, not to serve at the insurance company's behest as a "compliance officer"! Keep in mind, this property is across town for me, not where I am every day. So all of this seemed very unnecessary and was incredibly inconvenient for me but I went through all of the trouble to conform to their demands. The very least that they could have done was to verify that the work was complete, per their directives. But no, they canceled the policy then they failed to notify the company that they used to finance the premiums and I received a letter from their finance company stating that our policy had been terminated for "lack of payment"! So they were paid, in full, for the annual premium but they did not return the part of the premium they were paid for the months that remained on our policy term beyond the date that they canceled our policy! Fraud? Looks like fraud to me! Now I have to send all kinds of proof to the finance company so they will remove the ding to my credit scores! Unreal!!! There is much more to my frustration with HUB International, Gulfport, MS, but I think you can get the picture from what I have explained here. Unprofessional, yes, and many more reasons that I could provide as reasons that I wouldn't dream of recommending them to anyone, ever!
