And its never been easy for me to get the hang of. STAY FREAKING AWAY AT ALL COST!!!!! I currently am a FiOS subscriber. Not always happy with Verizon however I've never had an issue with their TV services. I am trying to calm down because the tactics that Direct TV use are illegal. They charge credit/debit cards without prior authorization. Try and file a complaint against them with the Attorney General or the BBB. Useless. I just got charged $60.00 on my debit card. I don't have their service. Never had. Had to jump through hoops to get this removed. Cancelled my cards and am waiting for new ones to arrive. Similar experience several years ago while trying to close out a family member's account. The account was charged after MONTHS of close and personal talk via landline. I don't wish to get into the deets however the employees of this company lie to suit their quota needs. We have been without CBS and affiliated stations since July 4th,that is 9 days. They say they are talking to Nexstar and are working behind the scenes and they are working to bring it back soon. For me soon would be a couple of days. If were not living where I am I would have never had DIRECT TV. The customer service will never give you when it will be resolved, and to top it off we will not be reimbursed for our inconvenience. Here we go again. Direct TV, now owned by AT&T. Everybody get the updated contract that you have to agree to resolve any disputes by arbitration instead of class action. The translation is that AT&T can do what they want to you including bad customer service. Seems as if we are going backwards as a country. They can mess with the signal output, then tell you you have to pay $99.99 to get a technician to your house. Did it to me last month and doing it again this month. You can also get their so-called service protection for $8.99 pr. month. Last month they were able to fix my problem without a service technician. Could have done it again. When we moved to a new home in September, Verizon FiOs was not available for cable TV. We were skeptical about switching to satellite TV. Changing to a new provider has been difficult in the past, but the transition to DirecTV was seamless. Marcus, our installer, was excellent. He completed his work easily in under two hours. He spent time showing us how the service works. To our amazement, the picture quality, programming features and ease of use is an upgrade from FiOs. We are very happy with DirecTV. read more

Parents were promised a $200 gift card via mail for switching to directv , after they got it installed , they then were told tgey have to go online yo open an account for a rebate / gift card . The worst customer appreciation ever. I have been a subscriber for 18 years. I am thinking of dumping them. They don't offer any deals to long time subscribers. Just keep adding cost. O stars.. I have been with company for 20 + years. Never had issues until they charged my bank account 3 time for 1 payment . Terrible company. Do not make this mistake. We signed up out of a BJ'S. (Our first mistake) then we were told we had a 12 month lock in rate of $65 with all the packages. We had a 2 year contract but that after 12 months just call and we will give you the new promotion that's available. After 3 months my bill went from $68 to $140, I thought that was odd so I called their customer service line and was told that that price was only 3 months and that there was nothing they could do. Even if I droped all the packages my bill would still be $100 for basic cable. Obviously I was not happy with this so requested a manager to talk about my cancelation options. I get this rude woman who attempted to out talk me when trying to explain the situation. She then proceeded to tell me since I knew everything she will just go ahead and cancel my subscription. Of course there is a $480 cancelation fee because you signed a 2 year contract. At this point I did the math and decided if I stay with this scam type of sales company I'd pay about $1800 to them over the next 18 months. Or to cancel I pay $600. So I opted to cancel and will pay them as little as humanly possible. They lied then didn't even care and acted like they had me on the hook. Extremely rude customer service that took 50 minutes after I said just cancel me out I'll pay the fee. Unless I got free service or they paid me I will not recommend this to anyone who I talk to. Don't make the mistake unless you are fine paying the $140 a month instead of the $65 introduction price they tell you. read more

I have been a Directv customer for 20+ years and over the last few years, it has becoming increasingly difficult to get a straight answer to any question I've had, bills don't get corrected for months, they add on charges that you are not aware of or notified of, and no two people tells you the same thing. It is frustrating and I am seriously considering canceling the service. They are now charging me an add'l $8.49 plus tax per month for roughly eight sports channels that I don't need or want but because they switched the package I've had for the 20+ years, they want me to pay the charge without any notification at all. If I had been notified prior to the surprise charges on my bill this month, I would have had the opportunity to change the package but I was told that if I did that, I would lose a lot of channels. So basically they have squeezed me into a corner without care, thought, concern for a consumer. The reps I have talked with are rude and you can't get a supervisor. Funny too the corporate number on line is no longer in service. I would not recommend this company at this point. Good luck read more
