One of the staff was ringing someone up and the other four looked like they were trying to find something on the register or a computer and didn't even look up. Finally, one of them did and when I asked he showed me the location of the item I was looking for. I like to wander around and look, so I did that. People coming and going, steadily busy. When I was ready to check out, I was asked if I was a rewards member, I said no. No follow up, no asking if I wanted to join, nothing. There was also a sign next to the register for a drawing that was to occur that night, the qualifier was a purchase amount which I exceeded. Just like the rewards, I was given no information, not offered an entry, again nothing. Also, no smile, no friendliness, nothing. I won't waste my time coming here again. Other places I go are way too friendly and helpful and seem to care that I am a customer. I didn't get that here at all. I was in the area, and they were listed as having the item I was looking for, next time I will go out of my way to go somewhere else.

She took her time explaining the bottle sizes (and a bonus, I didn't know before is that if you keep your bottle and clean them, bring them back and they will refill them with a new oil. I am not a drinker so I skipped that but the selection of oils and vinegars is just as impress. They also have things like risotto, spices, chutneys, honey, chocolates and more. I let him know that I fully intended to make an alcoholic purchase and would happily show my ID to verify my age and identity, but I was not comfortable removing the mask otherwise. Given the circumstances, the interaction felt less about policy and more about profiling. As a Black male dressed casually, I felt stereotyped and treated with unnecessary suspicion, despite being compliant and willing to verify my identity. I'm sharing this so other customers, particularly patrons who are community-oriented, educated, and contribute positively to society, and who may wear masks for medical reasons, are aware of how situations like this may be handled here and can make an informed decision.
