I'm all about saving a buck but at the cost of MY premiums & integrity, no thanks. $300 for some friend plumber to create a fake report to send to insurances. INSANE. Never mind the absolute lack of care for your items when they pack them up. I had my succulent plants thrown in with all my jewelry & bathroom items. Absolutely could've and would've love to pack them up myself and put my plants outside if they listened to our request to not start on Friday and to reschedule to Monday. My partner & I were at work as their team entered my home by telling our roommate they were supposed to be there. Ask for an itemized invoice? Crickets. Try to talk about issues? Deflected to the other 3rd company parties they work with while in your house. I asked over and over for an invoice, gave my email multiple times, nothing. Just to get called 4 days before they decided to consider me late by their AR department. 17,000 in 4 days?! (Master bed) Luckily, Zach (their AR team member) was easy to work with and I was able to have an extra week to pull funds. There are so many more details - I will gladly post our text messages and videos (I have cameras in/out). ** Look at EVERYTHING they make you sign, when they hand you an iPad with only a signature window up & they say oh, that's just x document, ask to see that document first. I asked for an estimate over & over to be told they don't do those they just bill your insurance, just to find out I signed some mysterious 20,000 estimate? Absolutely not, especially when they told me it would be around $8,000 if I paid myself and not go through insurance. He explained I was signing a promise to pay if my insurance doesn't cover and a 3 days before quit contract if I change my mind. * An honest company wouldn't remove or report their 1 star reviews for removal - there is a reason they don't want you to see what others are saying.

He checked in on us so kindly to see if we had further questions. He was So friendly and helpful. Jim came out to our home and checked out the area that needed to get treated. He was also very friendly and explained everything they would need to do to get things done and completed. He was patient with me about all my questions. They were so patient with us as we needed to wait on some testing that we had to complete due to the year our home was built. (They did indeed ask for materials but are now saying they didn't.) ___ 2. DEFLECT/IGNORE THE ISSUE RAISED -Dana "I've sent 3 emails to your 1 email..." -Janny "...if you are unwilling to provide results..." -Dana "I'm not unwilling. You just never asked. Why did it take this long to tell me that?" (My issue is their lack of communication, but she deflects to a story about me refusing asbestos testing, when in fact that conversation never happened.) ___ 3. DELAYED COMMUNICATION/NON-RESPONSIVE -- 5/21 Janny: "Please feel free to forward over the hygienist report...". --5/21 Dana:" They're attached, along with link to a few pics." After a week I reached out. 2. Janny responded by asking for docs I already sent 3. I gave it to her again. 4. Then crickets... 6. I emailed a 3rd time for updates. No response. 7. I emailed again + messaged on Yelp 8. They finally responded saying I had refused asbestos testing, which they require. 9. I said I never refused because nobody informed me until 3 weeks in. So they asked for docs already provided (why ask for docs if asbestos was an issue?), did nothing for 3 weeks, said I refused asbestos testing, which wasn't true, and that I would've agreed to do the testing had I been informed, Janny's response was judgmental and rude. And the overall communication--or lack thereof--I received from Janny was misinformed, argumentative, accusatory, and rude. Had they told me about the asbestos testing requirement I would have complied. But, if my experience thus far was any indication of how it would be working with them, I decided to pass. I think I saved myself a lot of headache. Buyer beware.

I called Janny late Thursday night and her technician Marco came out early the next morning to assess the problems and figure out a solution. Roberto and the crew came out that same day and began work to dry and fix all the water damage. We have a new baby with respiratory issues and was very worried about tje situation. But, the guys did a great job isolating and containing the areas they were working on to avoid any dust and debris. They were all friendly, efficient, and very considerate to our needs. We really appreciate their professionalism. A few days later they did a final inspection to ensure there was no more moisture and by the end of the weekend everything was repaired as if nothing happened. The Restoration 1 team did an amazing job and so thankful for their quick and immediate response. Our technicians, Logan and Bradley, were professional, respectful of our home, and careful not to damage anything or leave a mess while efficiently completing the job. What also stood out was the honesty. There were no high-pressure sales tactics or attempts to upsell additional work. Instead, Logan gave us a straightforward assessment of what to watch for in the future and walked us through potential options and their ballpark costs. This was a stark contrast to another plumbing company I had used previously, which told me I needed to replace the entire main line. In May 2016 we had a pipe leak in the kitchen slab and the insurance company sent out Disaster Kleenup Better Restoration to perform the initial inspection. Roberto was dispatched to perform the estimate and initial dry-out of the area and the job was done quickly and cleanly. Once this was completed, the insurance company gave us the option to select a company to perform the pipe repair and associated work. In order to keep things moving and not inject another variable, we went with DKBR and were truly glad we did. From the outset, we were impressed with all of their staff and while I don't generally take the time to draft letters to service providers, the work that was done certainly warranted one (excerpt to follow). While Roxanna in the front office and Josh, the PM for this job, were not mentioned directly in the email, they were in fact the glue that kept this process together ensuring we were always appraised of what to expect and when. Their efforts were priceless! In short, the repair work consisted of re-piping, cabinet removal and repair, and minor mold remediation. The following email was sent to the company owners with a copy sent to our insurance company: I wanted to thank you and your company personally for the service I received from your team due to a recent water leak in the kitchen of our home. In particular, I would like to point out the service I received from several of your employees - Roberto Medina (of the clean-up crew), as well as Dorinel Grozavu and his assistant Pedro Cruz (who performed the repair work). Their work was done very professionally, with attention to detail and an eye on customer satisfaction. I could not be happier with the work that they all completed. As you can imagine, my family and I hate to experience such an issue with our property and the timing was less than ideal. We were away for the Easter weekend and when we returned we found a pipe in the wall between bathrooms had ruptured. We immediately called a plumber and after surveying the damage called Roxanna at Betters Floors. They responded immediately and had the dry out set up that afternoon. Rebecca came after the dry out and asbestos abatement was completed. That lady is a whirlwind ball of fire. She got all the information, met with our insurance company representative, brought samples to the house and encouraged us to look around and find tile and countertops to our liking. We had a preplanned trip and we felt confident in leaving the job in Rebecca's capable hands. She sent pictures and called if she had questions. When we returned we had a few things we wanted changed and she was there to take notes and arrange to have it redone. She told us the job was not done until we were totally satisfied. There was smoke damage at my office and Disaster Kleenup responded to our call immediately. Corinne was fantastic to work with! She was always quick to respond to my emails and phone calls. We had some challenges during the restoration process, but she always listened and addressed our concerns. I have to be honest that not all the steps during our restoration process went as planned and some work had to be fixed, but Corinne's team guaranteed their work and our satisfaction even if they had to go back to fix something that didn't go as expected. I also want to put in a plug for Greg because he was always so helpful with his expert suggestions and advice. Lastly, I can't forget Steve (the drywall guy) because he was like an artist and really took care in wanting to perfect his work with our bathroom wall. My advice is that restoration/renovation is a process and to be patient. Diasaster Kleenup will work with you to meet your expectations, but we also have to be realistic that things don't always go according to plan. read more

My sister passed away unexpectedly, in September, this year. It was then, that I found out she was a "hoarder", and was left to clean up the mess. Besides being filthy, there had been water leaking, the floors, cabinets, vanities and appliances were in terrible shape. I attempted to do some of the work myself, and realized that it was just way to much for me to handle. I needed to get professional help, so I called Disaster Kleenup / Better Restorations. They were there the next day to assess the situation, and give me an estimate. I hired them, and they were there in just a few days with a crew to do the job. I can honestly say that those guys worked their tails off, and did a great job. The highlight of the job, was when one of the crew, found my moms wedding ring and brought it to me. As a young retired man my wife & I have not experienced any type of major water damage. I had worked many years with the top architects in California & so had much experience with builders & construction, mold & asbestos. Better Restorations is as good as it gets. Of course due diligence is a must for anything we do but trust me, don't waste your energy, these people & their workers are extraordinary in their knowledge, professionalism & experience to do it all. They just finished our family room from having a leaking water pipe in our attic. Their skills made our favorite family room look like it was in a new home. We're ecstatic. Better Floors and Restorations has been a blessing! Our Insurance Company recommended them after water had damaged our floors while we were on vacation. Josh Kasen and the entire staff met all of our picky needs and desires, dried up the water damage, repaired damages, and replaced the floor to our liking. Very Professional and Timely: I had an upstairs toilet leak at my house while I was out of town. I called Better Floors & Restoration while I was still out of town and they came to the rescue. They dried up the mess - cleaned the carpets - put in new padding as good as new. I would definitely recommend them. read more

Michael did an exceptional job of assisting me over the phone when I was trying to find help for a very serious mold infestation in our home. He explained the 3 step process of inspection (not their domain), remediation (what they actually handle), and a follow-up inspection. The questions that he asked me about the situation immediately clued me into his expertise and experience. He even emailed me a list of 5 recommended inspectors to help me get started. I also appreciate his empathy through this nightmare and trying to handle it with an HOA. Michael even followed up a few days after our call to make sure we found everything we needed. This leak resulted in mold and water damage, which we were deeply concerned about. We sought a company to perform mold and water remediation. Our initial contact was with Jazz & Jay Restoration. We were highly impressed with Jasmin and Jay from the outset; Jasmin was exceptionally professional and provided a comprehensive explanation of the mold remediation process. Jay and Kevin arrived, took photographs, and assessed the problem. Jay was exceptionally courteous and helpful in relocating items from the closet to access the crawl space beneath our home. He possessed extensive knowledge of the remediation process and he and Kevin arrived punctually throughout the entire remediation process. It took five days to completely dry out the water beneath our home. Jasmin promptly sent us photographs during the initial start of the job and again once the cleaning process was finished, highlighting the areas that had been cleaned and providing a clear explanation of the remediation process for drying out the area. Jay and Kevin's work was exceptional, and I highly recommend their Company's service. The pricing they provided was very reasonable.
