One of the laziest groups of employees I've encountered works at this Disc Replay location. I couldn't find a specific item, so I asked a male employee for assistance. Instead of actually checking, he led me to a section that I already knew was incorrect. I went along with it briefly to give him the benefit of the doubt, but it quickly became clear he wasn't interested in helping. Without making any effort to search or verify, he simply said they didn't have the item. He then brought over another employee who immediately backed him up rather than attempting to locate the item or provide any real assistance. This was a stark contrast to my past experiences at the Orland Park location, where employees were helpful, looked items up on their computers, and were able to locate plenty of what I was searching for. Unfortunately, the lack of effort and professionalism at this location has cost them a long-time customer. I will not be returning. read more

Don't sell your stuff to these people unless you're truly desperate. I went in to sell a large amount of movies and retro games and was told it would be a few hours to go through everything. That wasn't a problem. I asked if there would be an itemized list to show what I'd get paid for the items and the employee said that there would be a large printout showing this. After 3 hours they finally finished and there was no list like they said. I couldn't get a straight answer on what I would be getting paid for the items individually. The selling process should be more transparent. I was in a rush since it was only supposed to take an hour and a half. The sell prices are worse than game stop. I would never go there again. I really enjoy coming to disc replay due to their large selection of games and merchandise. However I had a poor experience today when I noticed one of the plush toys I purchased was already damaged. I came in to make the return, pointing out the damage showing my receipt and the plush's original packaging and price tag, and offered either store credit or to replace it with the same plush or one of equal value. I was told no, and that they don't accept returns. Despite the fact all plush are sealed meaning I couldn't have examined it for damage til I purchased it, and they were the ones who had ordered the merchandise and sold it to me, meaning the blame is on the buyer not the consumer. I felt my money was wasted with my purchase as well as my time with my attempt to return it. read more

On one hand, I can't deny their excellent selection of boutique 4K's and Blu-Ray's. They have an excellent stock of titles and I've spent a lot of money at this store on numerous occasions. The issue is more with the staff. They are usually huddled together, talking, and not overly interested in helping or answering questions. I feel like I'm interrupting a private conversation when I want to check out at the front. They usually appear annoyed and irritated. Today, I asked the employee a question about two titles coming back in stock and his response was, "I don't know when I'll get them back in stock. Whenever I order them, I guess" in a huffy tone. He seemed annoyed he had to open the case for 4K horror titles even though I was spending over 100 dollars. They rarely ever say thank you or make eye contact. The other stores are MUCH better (Downer's Grove/Countryside) from a customer service perspective, but their selection isn't as expansive as Orland. I don't know if I want to return to this store after numerous instances of employees acting like I'm asking for a kidney when I want them to open the case to buy a film. Great movie selection but the employees are arrogant and smug. It ruins the experience and leaves a bad taste in your mouth. read more

The prices on the merchandise they sell here is okay, but the staff including the one that I dealt with earlier today, when I was trying to sell my XBOX ONE S 1TB 4K HDR was extremely rude, excuse me for not knowing enough about video games and consoles like you Mr. Know it all!!! Not only does he interrupt me while I trying to explain why I didnt have a cord but disrespected me in front of everyone, if management does not stress the importance about customer service, then what is the point?!?!?! i give this store 0 stars . i had the worst customer service i have ever had in my life. emily the manager that said there store is . not a corporate store thinks she can just make up her owe rules . i was returning a wii and 20 infinity game pieces. she told me she could only give me store credit for my wii. when i purchased it the guy told me i had 3 days and i could bring it back and get my money back . i also bought 20infinity game pieces which cost me $44 which i wasn't told cant be returned at all no money back and no store credit you are just stuck with them. no employee ever told me that when i was purchasing them. you would think you might want to mention that to your customers. so i asked if she had a customer corporate number and she said {oh you dont want to talk to the owner like i am supposed to be afraid of him. she was rude and didn't want to give nor did she refund any of my money. i was there returning within the 3 day return policy . i bought it only 2 days ago . on the reciept it states 3 days . i will never purchase or recomend this store to anyone. read more

Also asked how much it would be for a bill box (5000) count box. He informed me that they have to count out all the cards by hand and then call me within a week for a quote. Not sure if they understand how a box works when it's full and a 5000 count box. Other members of my group also asked a few other questions regarding games and systems and yet again pointed at the far side of the store and said if we have XX product it'll be there somewhere then proceeded to go behind the counter and disappear. Disc Replay in Orland Park has been my choice for used cd's dvd's and video games for years. Same strip mall, three different locations in said strip mall, same great deals. Whether you are looking for, cd's, dvd's or video games Disc Replay has a varied selection of previously listened to cd's, seen that already dvd's and been played video games. The selection includes, and this is my favorite, retro games, including Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Game Cube, Nintendo Ds, and every variation of, Sega Genesis, Atari, Commodore, and every gaming console known to exist, well at least it seems that way. Where else can you find Sega Game Gear games? Many of these games come with the original box. It's hit or miss to what may be available so if you see something you think you might want, get it when you see it, it might not be there during your next visit. Gaming consoles including the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Entertainment System were spotted on a recent visit. Controllers and other random components may be lurking beneath the glass display case. Remember in high school when you were told you had to purchase a fancy calculator that you then went to the store to purchase and it was like crazy expensive considering its a calculator, yeah, you could find it at Disc Replay but for less. Tablets and notebooks come and go. A variety of cellphones and even ipods could be in stock. Collectibles including band posters and stickers are available too. An assortment of easily displayed records always has treasure hunters looking for that rare vinyl. Relatively new to Disc Replay, is an ever growing selection of guitars and amps. On a recent visit I saw something interesting, it was a VCR, from what I understand the letters v c and r is an acronym for video cassette recorder, my research tells me that a vcr is like a dvr, but without the tapes, a tape is a large looking cassette that went into this vcr thingy, they called this type of tape a vhs tape. Not only can one purchase stuff, but you can sell your cd's, dvd's, video games, newer and vintage, stereo components, guitar, amp, cell phone, calculator, tablet, and whatever else you want to buy sell or trade for cash or store credit. Disc Replay Orland Park is conveniently located on LaGrange road and is always a fun stop to go look at what you didn't know you wanted. The staff are friendly, although new and I don't recognize any of them, maybe there was a change in management? With the previous group of employees, 4 years ago at least it seemed like it was a party, now the party seems like it ended. Speaking of a party the music is too loud, but thats only because the music comes from a speaker that is centralized in the store and not from an overhead speaker, and when you stand in front of the speaker, its a little too loud. I'm going to update my review now that I've been to two other Disc Replays. First off, I'll give this one major props for being the cleanest and most organized of all the other ones I've been to. Not a single disc was out of place. However, as my friend Dan B has mentioned the prices are higher than the other Disc Replays. I thought they were all owned by the same people, so not sure why this is. I happened to scope out the pop/rock section as well as the new releases and found quite a few items that I'd buy if they were a little cheaper. I did find Weezer's Pinkerton ($6.99) to complete my Weezer anthology and The Rocking Horse Winner ($5.99 I think) Both of these albums are well worth the money so I'm happy with my purchases. I stopped myself from buying a few other albums I've been wanting though due to the pricing. The girl that waited on me was amazingly friendly and the kind of cool chick that I would want to hang out with daily because of her bad ass taste in music and style. I still love this Disc replay and will still come here whenever I'm in the OP area because of their great selection, but I will find myself binge buying a lot less now that I know how the pricing compares with the other ones I've been to. read more

Really cool place to look around, they pay decent prices for old games and consoles, I think it was about 150 for my old N64, 2 controllers, and 3 Mario games. Not a bad place to find new and old stuff. Sometimes the staff gets backed up with sellers and it could take some time to get some help, but don't be afraid to ask someone behind the counter. read more

Disc Replay in Orland Park is a large used video game, music, and movie store. Located near the Orland Square Mall, this store is a good place to find second-hand goods. Unfortunately, after finding them whether or not they will be reasonably priced is another matter entirely which we will delve into shortly. If you've never visited a Disc Replay before I'll go over the basics. This is a store where people buy, sell and trade in their old DVDs, Blu-Rays, CDs, and various video games of all platforms. Out of print and hard to find games, CDs and movies are locatable at such stores and generally being used these items can be found quite a bit cheaper than they were when they were new. Browsing around for games you've always wanted to play, movies you've always wanted to see and CDs you've wanted to listen to can be an enticing endeavor and is what has fueled the popularity of this particular chain of secondhand shops in Chicagoland. Now on to the specific details of the Orland Park location. The first thing to note about this store is the layout, most other Disc Replays I've visited (and that's most of them in the area) are one long store with the items along the sides and a counter to check out towards the back. This one is laid out slightly differently, with the store being wide from the door rather than long and the counter being right towards the front. The positives of this store are that it has a larger video game selection than most. This includes both retro and modern games and consoles. As a result of having the larger than most inventory, this particular location boasted a fair number of unique and interesting pieces of merchandise. They had a decent but not outstanding movie section, and their music section was smaller than other Disc Replays. As referenced earlier the big downside with this store was the pricing. A lot of the items I was interested in were priced higher than they might be at other disc replays or other second-hand stores in general. While I understand there needs to be a profit made on items, I'd describe this store as generally being a tad overpriced. Overall, I might stop here again but I wasn't as impressed with the store as I am with others. While they have a decent inventory, their pricing is shaky to high. read more

From the moment I walked in I felt as I just came to a house/frat party that I wasn't invitited too, as the staff were all just hanging around the desk joking with one another: "Dude, no way you're that old! I thought you were still in high school." "No, dude. I'm 28. And if you think that's crazy my husband is 30." "No way. That's you're husband. I've seen Disc Replays around but have never gone in, and from that I'm not really missing anything special. Sure, some of there prices are decent, but somethings are just crazily over priced. I saw box sets (of used stuff, since that's all they sell) that I could walk over to Walmart and buy brand new for ten dollars less. I don't know who does their pricing, but I think its time they head out into the world and see what costs what. I've been here a few times. Meh. It's got an old record store feel right down to the hipsters working there. I try to find CDs that perhaps I've overlooked over the years. Most, but not all, are priced at $5. I wouldn't pay more. That's what eBay is for. They usually have some tables outside with CDs for 99 cents. Hey, that's cheaper than a download from the iTunes store. Why not get the whole CD? Then when an EMP bomb hits us and the web is disabled at least you'll still have a CD to listen to. read more

I'm torn with this store. I have to take the good with the bad. What's good. They will take CD's off my hands (not all, but some). I check with ebay and find there is no market for most of my CD's, and Disc Replay will usually take them for pennies on the dollar and I always take the store credit, not cash. Anything they don't take, I donate to the public library. More good. You can pick up some good LP's but they price them rather high. I found a great Rick Derringer LP that I lost over the years and picked it up on store credit. I have added to my Simpson's DVD collection as well as a few other movies here and there for a good price. Now the bad: watch their pricing, they change prices occasionally. Visit the store often and keep up with what is new and grab them early. I recently purchased a box set DVD of a famous gangster movie (3 movies and a the making of...). It was stickered at about $26 and I felt it was a good deal and bought it. When I got home, I removed the sticker only to find a previous sticker underneath dated two weeks prior. It was ~$19. Looks like I was just in time for the Christmas season markup. Anyway, take it or leave it, there is definitely some hidden treasures there regardless of what you are in to. It also gives you an old school record store feel back before the big box stores. Check 'em out and take the good with the bad. read more

I am surprised by the reviews so far. This place is not as great as everyone has touted. There are some good things going on here, but are also a lot I'm not a fan of. In my opinion, the selection is mediocre. The CD assortment is dominated by decent 90's CD's that we've all already owned at one point or another. If you are searching for that Chumbawumba CD that you've been meaning to get for the past 13 years or so, you're in luck: they have about 25 copies. On display. Taking up shelf space. The same goes for their video games, which again, if you're looking for NBA Jam or some redundant, low-quality game they will have 30 copies of it for you. Whereas if you're looking for some CD or game a little more indie, you're most likely not going to find it. Which is funny, because the employees are of the young, hipster, tattooed variation. You'd think the music selection would be better. I understand that this business thrives on people bringing in their used CD's. But that is a testament to how most peoples' tastes in music are pretty bad, and that maybe a business revolving around it is questionable. Also, the trade-in value for CDs, games, etc. is a ripoff. They clearly offer you less than they are worth. This must be how they've been open for so long though. I will say that on occasion, you WILL find something of interest to you there. Disc Replay is located by my old neighborhood, so I'll pop in every now and then and look for a diamond in the rough, if you will. I also like how you can listen to a CD you're planning on buying beforehand, to make sure it plays well (although I've never done that.) Disc Replay is what it is: a small used CD, movie, and game shop with mostly crap, but you'll get lucky once in a while. read more

And darnit, why can't the Skokie(Village Crossing) Disc Replay stock vinyl? :( I think it's quite cool that some Disc Replays chose to do that, unlike others. I only was in here really briefly since my yelp group went on to Granite City that night we did that UYE, but the vinyl selection was much better than I was expecting it to be. I'm a video gamer collector and I can definitely say this Disc Replay is a much better retro video game store than any actual video game store within about a 15 mile radius and I would expand that radius if it weren't for Play it Retro in Berwyn. They consistently have a good selection and fair prices; better than fair on many things. Aside from video games it's also a great entertainment store. They have a good selection of movies and music, and piss poor customer service. I purchased a DVD which would not eject from my PS3. After having to dismantle the console to remove the disc, I saw the reason: a ring of adhesive residue around the hole, probably the remnants of a redbox bar code or something like it. I took it back to disc replay and asked if they could determine who had sold it to me, since he should be told to make sure the discs are clean when they're sold. One employee said, They are clean. (Well, one half of it was clean.) Another guy scraped and cleaned off the residue, and I told him I'd like compensation for the difficulties incurred from the disc (5 hours towards remedying the problem), and I felt a store credit would be reasonable. The first guy said, "We didn't notice it, but neither did you and YOU put it in the PS3, so really it's your fault." I kid you not, those were his exact words! Now, I didn't walk in there belligerent, or raise my voice, nor was I argumentative at any point during this discourse. I definitely disagreed that this was MY fault, and restated that I didn't think a 4.99 store credit was an unreasonable request, given the problem that disc caused me. The guy who cleaned off the residue said, "The disc is fine now." And then he went on to say, "I wouldn't even give you 1 cent worth of store credit for this." Now THIS made me raise an eyebrow. Really? REALLY? My patronage, and my good will, are not worth a single cent? This could be a training video on how NOT to treat your customers. They haven't grasped the concept that they're the overhead -- we're the profit. I'll leave them to their frat party Paul D so aptly described. Saw a Groupon offer ($10 for $20) and I knew I had to jump on it. Been to this store numerous times before, but hey, its been a while-been patronizing HPB for awhile-time to spread the love. So they went through a little reorganizing inside while I was gone. The LPs are shoved all the way to the back in a corner near the window. Reduced in size, they have a clearance section of your typical dime-a dozen vinyls, all for the grab-bag price of $5 for 5. Actually found some great gems in these bins. New arrivals are near the door. Picked up a Gary Moore LP for $6.99. Next stop was the CD section. When you buy CDs here, you're almost guaranteed that they're mint. They had a reasonable clearance of $2.99 each or buy 2 get 1 free. And so I did, picking up some Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, and Sabbath CDs in excellent condition. Overall a great place to hit in the burbs if you are a music aficionado like me. And you can grab a bite next door at Baby's. read more

A few years ago, I'd have given this ether 4 or 5 stars, but not as of late. The staff is rude and ignorant and they handle their vinyl stock like empty food wrappers. Some of their album covers were empty, the record itself was a couple of inches to the left, or in the back...they price used LPs the same as new, sealed editions - for example, a used, scratchy copy of Camera Obscura's "Let's Get Out of this Country" with a beat up cover was priced at $15.00, when I paid $13 for a new sealed copy at Reckless. I thought "are you kidding me right now!" I did finally see something (I thought) I wanted and went up to the cashier, standing at one register, NOT being advised it was closed because the nerd-gamer behind the counter was looking away and talking with another one behind the other register, and the other line was the only one moving. Driving in Orland Park is murder any time of year, and this place is definitely not worth the trip. read more

So if you're looking for pretty much any main stream DVD you can think of for five bucks this is the place to go. They have a HUGE selection and the staff is really laid back and not bothering you while you browse around at what they have to offer. They have been recently updating their Blu Ray used section and have some solid titles from 10-20 bucks. If you're looking for a TV show on DVD they have a lot but the more popular ones you would actually want to watch are harder to find. I try to check this place once a week to see what comes in because you never know what Gem you might find. I often find rare and out of print WWF/WWE DVDs here for 5-7 bucks. If you're usually not in the Orland Park area I would take the drive out there and I'm sure you'll find something you want. read more

Came here after I got fitted for a tux down the street. Bought a GameCube, 2 controllers, Memory card, and Mario Kart for $90. When I got home, the system would freeze on startup. After realizing I had accidentally thrown away the receipt, I started to panic. I came the next day with all of the stuff I had bought and hoped that they would believe me. The people at the front desk accepted me without question. They tested out the system, and it turned out the problem was the disc (Which is always a risk with a used disc, especially a +10yr old one). They gave me a new one, and the manager came out to shake my hand and apologize. I've read a lot of complaining about the staff here, but I've only found them to be excellent. They helped me, bantered with me, and were very kind when I came without proof of purchase. That said, compared to its Crest Hill Location, it's Current-gen selection is subpar. It's but it's pastgen is great. I've seen Gameboy Micros in boxes here. They have many of the little things people forget about, like trade cables for the old gameboys, or converts for Atari's to work on modern TVs. I've found it to be very clean, and lacking in the clutter traditionally associated with resale shops. read more

I buy a lot of Blu rays (mostly used) and I'm usually sure to find a new movie there within a few days of its release and save 25-30% by waiting a bit. I come in about once a week to scan the shelves for the occasional rarity and am usually not disappointed. My boyfriend and I no longer go to Best Buy or Circuit City to buy our CDs, we go straight to Disc Replay. It's the only place left in our neck of the woods since Unabused Music and the Music Recyclery both closed. They have a vast selection of used CDs, DVDs, and games, just be prepared to dig around to find something worthwhile, and we always leave with a bag full of new music. Me and my dad come here almost every weekend. We get games, and my dad usually picks up a dvd and some comics. Great spot, everything I bought works. All nes games, great condition and work perfectly. Today, got 2 nes games: Qbert and shadowgate. Shadowgate had a piece inside rattling so one of the guys took it up front and checked it for me. It was a piece of the plastic inside that broke off, but it's nothing. Really appreciated the guy unscrewing the game to see what was inside. Plus since he was so cool about finding out what happened, I got 2 nes sleeves for free! This place is great! read more

I went in to sell a few games for ps3 and wii that I do not touch anymore. There was a long wait to price the games which was expected because it was Saturday afternoon just before the holidays. They told me to fill out a form with my information, leave my games in the store, and that they would give me a call with how much they would pay for my games. I received a call about an hour later and was told that they would only buy two of my games for $8.50. I didn't expect to get too much for the games, so that is fine. I returned and they gave me the games that they were not interested in buying. When the employee was ringing me up with the two games they were going to buy, i noticed that I was missing two games from the pile they were "not interested" in. I asked about them and the employee looked confused. She took a 15 second walk around the store and said that they must be in the store somewhere and offered me $2 for them. At that point I did not care to make a scene for a couple games that were probably not worth too much more than that, but it really was embarrassing and unprofessional of them. I did not think I had to worry about leaving my games there for an hour to be priced and come back to find that they are missing. If I did not notice, they would have went about their day. This was my first time in a Disc Replay. I assumed it was just a Gamestop clone, but the DRs are a lot more fun! They have a good selection of games from not just the last 2 generations, but ALL generations. Plus the consoles, controllers, and accessories to go along with those games. This disc replay not only has the dvd, cd, video games, and records that they all have, but they are also selling guitars, amps, comic books, computers, cards(like Pokemon and magic) tablets, iPods, cell phones, computers, and JONES SODA! Disc Replay of Orland Park is a hidden gem in the used media marketplace. I used to always pass this store and think it was just like all the other shops that sell preowned items, such as Gamestop or Half Price Books. Boy was I wrong. First off the store layout is very welcoming and easy to find what you are looking for whether it be music, movies or games. Adding to this was their very helpful staff who helped me find a movie that I was unable to find on the shelf. Only because i was looking in the wrong section. In addition to that they also paid way more than other shops for my used items, I had traded in an Xbox 360 and Wii with some games to go towards a Playstation 4. Great selection in a spacious location. Video games going all the way back to Atari. Rows and rows of blu-rays and DVDs. And toy collectors are in luck too, plenty of new Funko figures to choose from! read more
