For an old dude such as myself, DiscXchange is a grand place. Outside of the fact that a large sign upon entering informs you to remove your hat. I put the damned hat on in the first place because I was displeased with what was going on underneath said hat, dammit! But damn you if you don't get there and you're an old-school X-Box aficionado such as myself. They have an extensive selection for those of us that are frozen in time. Most games are $5 a piece and have a 3 day warranty. Double check 'em the first day you buy any games, I say, or else you'll be S.O.L. Moreover, if you wanna sell used items (discs, movies, etc), DiscXchange will give you 20% of the value of the item in cash, or 40% of the value of your stuff for store credit. So go through your stack of games and movies you don't use anymore and bring them to DiscXchange so you can trade them in for ones that you will use! read more

My son was whining he wanted a PS4, so off we went to check this place out. The staff were friendly, and seemed knowledgeable, and if nothing else sympathized with my plight. I'm not a gamer, & see them as a complete waste of time. Anyhow long story short, they convince me to buy the 1TB console over the 500GB console. Sure okay, for the difference in price, it will be worth not having to listen to the whining about a shortage of memory. Get home, give the console to the kid and done, think nothing else of it. Until a couple months later, the whining starts, he's out of memory! How the heck can you be out of memory already? Start going through the system information, they sold me a 500GB console, not the 1TB, but of course they charged me for 1TB. read more

It wasn't a bad place until I came in for an exchange(not a return). It was also within their 3 day grace period. I had played NHL 13 for over a year, but my disc broke, so I bought a used one from them. Never had a problem with unreadable disc(until mine cracked). This guy with a redish brown beard, ignored me when I came in, and was casually talking with someone. I waited. Then when I explained that when I was playing hockey it kept coming up as unreadable disc in the game. He said that it was a game glitch. No possibility of anything else. I tried to explain, that I had tried to install the game on my xbox360, so there was no way it could be an in-game glitch. What probably happened was someone gave them a deep cut disc, they repaired and made it look good, but there was a data loss in disc. He was very rude and condescending. Telling me he has played hockey since NHL 94, so he was right, and I couldn't exchange because of that without talking to a manger, and they were in the back. So I asked how long did he think it would be? He said, if you want to try and exchange this, maybe you should "learn" how to be patient! WHAT??? I said, my dog is in the car, it's hot out, that is why I asked. I called him an asshole and walked out. Not worth the 15$ exchange. I went to EB games, as always perfect service. Got another NHL 13, and guess what? Have played it for 2 days, and never had an unreadable disc error. Which was happening constantly with theirs. You want good customer service? Don't want to ripped off? Don't go to this shit hole owned by a pawn shop next door. Their greasy snaky practices obviously leak into there. read more

We weren't very happy with DiskX. They sold our son a game disk that was badly scratched and wouldn't play. Assuming that they wouldn't sell unusable disks, we weren't aware of the damage to the disk for 4 or 5 days so their 3 day warranty didn't cover it. The net result is that our son is out $9.00 of his money that he worked hard to earn. If you're buying disks there, be sure to try them before the 3 days is up. Other similar stores in Calgary offer a 30 day coverage - they may charge a little more for their disks, but at least they work. read more
