My husband shops there at least once a week, if not two or three. Sometimes I think we should just have our paycheck sent to them, he's there so much lol. I recently moved to Ozark from Texas and visited this store today for the first time. It is clean and well organized. All of the staff, including the owner and his son, are very friendly and helpful. Don't mind the bad reviews, Most food doesn't actually expire on the expiration date. You find plenty of deals if you know how to shop. All these people are just a bunch of upset, angry people. Look at their reviews and you'll find that they complain about anything and everything. I spent $70 and had a full shopping cart. Haven't had that feeling since mid 2000's. read more

One of the things I miss from home was my Local store that sold overstocked/damaged groceries at low prices. This store fits the bill. I was able to buy Bangs for $1 each and protien bars for $.50! They also sold various other items at obscenely low prices. I did notice that some of their "fresher" stuff was more expensive. Like $3.79 for some off brand almond milk. But everything else was at decent prices. They even sell items like crockpots and Microwaves. The only reason I am not giving it five stars is some of the staff aren't the nicest. They are not out right rude, but they have said some....off putting things to me. Protip, shop here first and then make your run to your regular store. That way you can get the deals here and get whatever else you need from the regular store. read more

Went today and was surprised they would not sell item that was clearly marked $5.00. His excuse was when we had a lot we sold them at that price, now they wanted $20. In some places you have to sell for what it's priced at, I guess not here. Not crazy about the out of date food, it would have went in garbage at my house but occasionally you find an item still in date. Occasionally you do find a bargain but after not getting item at marked price we will not be going back ever. This was our second time and there will not be a third time. This once was a good store to shop at. Now their prices are outrageous they're trying to compare themselves to Walmart. I see a lot of product out of date where Walmart is not and they're so high that you can go somewhere else and get it cheaper. Right down the road is Aldi's they are much cheaper and a better deal and the quality is much better as well. The management is very unprofessional and needs to learn how to talk and treat customers. We were asked to leave in a very unprofessional manner because our baby was crying and this was "disturbing" all of his other customers in the store. I partially understand but the manner we were informed in was completely disrespectful not to mention the fact that we already had a cart full of food that we just had to walk away from and wasn't even offered the opportunity to pay for what we had already put in our cart. I have always been a very loyal and respectful customer but after today my family nor I will be back and I will make sure all my friends and anyone I come in contact with know about today's awful experience. read more

Funny story...a few days ago I was at the Discount Freight and Grocery and purchased a Weight Watchers Silicone Corn Popper...$3.99. When I got it home...opened the box and it was empty...I kind of chuckled to myself and put the box back into the bag to take it back and exchange it later. So today, Saturday, I headed into the store with my empty box and was met by the greeter who is always super friendly. He directed me to a "fellow with the gray goatee" to conduct my business. I told the guy what had happened. He looked at the box and said, "you'll have to come back Monday when the manager is here, because if this had gone though the checkout, the cashier would have noticed it was empty, I can't OK this." He could just let me know they didn't have a manager on site and asked me to come back later...but no, he basically called me a liar and a thief. It really did offend me...I am in there at least once a week...I think it's fun shopping there...you never know what you'll find. Discount Freight has become a go-to in our household! You'll save the most money on frozen meat and other frozen products. Sausage rolls and bacon are routinely more than half off retail. Pork tenderloins are often more than half off. We buy essentially all meat from here, since even if it was slightly past expiration or something, it's frozen, so no problems with freshness! I've only had probably two items (one of them being cereal) have any problem at all in the few years we've been shopping here now. Pay no attention to people complaining about not saving any money; it's not true. Maybe they're talking about milk and cheese, but DFG only stock those, so people can do their entire grocery shopping trip at DFG and not have to run to another store just for milk. They have a ton of other stuff as well, like dry boxed goods, candy, energy drinks, protein, beef jerky, chips, salad dressings, cereal, crackers and other snacks for kids, and lots of limited time special buys that they only get occasionally. We have saved thousands of dollars off retail by shopping here over years of time, and you should do the same! read more

Very disappointed with new return policy. Purchased a large tablet for $80 because they claim 100% guarantee, took back and told a sign said they did not charge. When I purchased it, there was no sign, They told me the ones that did not charge were $40, but had some that did charge. Told if it didn't work to call manufacturer. This is not a 100% guarentee! Will not buy anything large again, suggest you think twice too! Prices have gotten higher on some thing since new store. Hope this is not a trend. read more
