Long Review A lot of people look to the big home improvement stores when it comes to flooring. I have as well, twice in the past. The issues with the big home improvement stores are 1) Getting good information about products and options can vary depending on who is working that day 2) They are contracting the work out, which isn't always a bad thing but if you have problems with the product or installation, then good luck navigating the big home improvement store bureaucracy. I have experienced problem 2 in the past and it isn't fun. I selected Carpet Smart for installing hardwood floors in my house because of their great reviews on Yelp and other review sites. I also love the fact that they are a local company and it is great thing to support local companies to keep money in the community and help you local small businesses to thrive. The lady in the showroom was very knowledgeable and upfront about their products and flooring in general. They setup a free estimate, which included sending a guy out to measure the rooms. The installation guys were on time each day, were very careful about not damaging anything else in the house while they worked, and most importantly, did high quality work.

When I called to inquire the owner admitted he had misquoted the job by half. To finish what the original scope would be, I would have to come out of pocket an additional $3200. He offered me $500 off. When I asked if that was the best he could do he said "What do you want me to do, slit my wrists and jump off the roof." I would 100% stay away from this company.

We experienced the chipping immediately. The painter did not sand or prime our cabinets. The painter claimed the one coat paint/primer would work. It didn't. At first, Indigo Bloom was responsive and sent their contract painter back out. The painter recommended we buy knob plates to protect against nicks and chips. Not a reasonable solution to paint chipping off drawers and doors not near the knobs. After complaining further, Indigo Bloom sent the painter a second time to remove all our doors and added a stronger sealer. We were told our cabinets would now be protected from normal wear and tear. 11 months later the paint keeps chipping off.

We wanted to put hardwood floors in our carpeted living and dining rooms. Newsome employees were able to install new hardwood floors and refinish our existing hardwood floors so that it now looks as though all of our floors were installed at the same time. She had the day off the day my flooring came in. I was presented with the invoice that listed the total linear footage of flooring, not the number of boxes. I failed to do the math. My floor installation guy informed me I was shorted 3 boxes and he found 3 boxes with different UCP codes. So, I actually was shorted 6 boxes. The 3 boxes with wrong codes were 8 mil thick. The other 21 boxes were 10 mil thick. I called Alyssa and explained this to her. She informed me that I received 27 boxes total. WRONG! I only received 24 boxes. An entire wrapped pallet wrapped in plastic was loaded into my truck with a fork lift. 4 rows of 6 boxes in each row. I did not receive 3 additional boxes!!! Alyssa said they could comp me for the 3 wrong boxes BUT DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO COMPENSATE ME FOR THE 3 BOXES I WAS SHORTED!! Nothing! So, I had to order 6 additional boxes. 3 were replacements and 3 I had to purchase again. When I went in to return the bad boxes and pick up the new ones I tried again to get some sort of compensation for the missing 3 boxes. NOTHING!! They could have a least cut me a deal, but no! So very disappointed! I will have 3 more rooms to refloor at another date and I will not dare give this company another penny.
