do not use this company. it's obvious from all the reviews that they cancel at short notice . I booked this through our travel agents , it was cancelled as we departed Leeds Bradford airport . they didn't answer my emails or phone calls until I arrived home . we paid £590 and haven't had a penny returned. I will be writing to the minister for tourism in Poland about this company read more

We had a poor experience with Discover Cracow. They changed the original time of our tour to Aushwitz, moving it from a morning tour to the afternoon. On the way, the bus blew a tire and though we had told we would be picked up by another bus within 1/2 hour, we were on the roadside for almost an hour and a half. Because we arrived late, almost an our past our scheduled tour time, the Auschwitz guide abbreviate and rushed the tour. Despite multiple members of our group letting the guide know that we were not able to hear her commentary (the audio devices provided "crackly", broken audio if you were more than 10 people away from the guide), she continued to talk as she walked rather than waiting for the large group (30+) to gather before she shared information. In addition, we had a member of our family using crutches and a wheelchair, and the guide failed to pause when we exited the various buildings, leaving us literally running to catch the group. No one on the Discover Cracow team ever offered an apology for our experience, despite our attempts to reach out to them and share our disappointment following our trip. I would definitely recommend that you book with another company! read more

We left the whole day open to see Auschwitz, and they cancelled the tour on us. They are just a bus operator and a bad one at that. After talking to a guide that is employed by the Auschwitz Camp and has live in the area his whole life, is how it works with all tour companies to Auschwitz. They don't buy the tickets until the bus is full, and leave it as late as possiable to buy them. This is because to stop ticket reselling they put a name to each ticket and check it with goverment ID. So only the person who they book for can use that ticket. This means sometimes they don't have tickets for anyone and just risk waiting at the gate, hence why there are some many reviews of leaving at 4am to be the first there when it opens. All the good reviews must of been when it was super busy. So my story. I booked through headout but got put with their local guide discover krakow. Always book direct with a company not a middle man like headout, they made it seam like they were the company not the middle man. The morning of I get to the metring place at 6.15am for my 6.30am tour. It's gets to 6.45am and a full bus come and picks up about 12 German speaking tourist, she tells us the English one will be here soon. It gets to 7am and another guy calls, they tell us that our trip was moved to 4am but hangout didn't inform us. This guy apperanlty also got a call at 3.40am that morning telling him to be there at 4am. The only reason we came to Poland was to go to Auschwitz, so we decide to get a train there to see if we can get in. We get there at about 10am wait for tickets was about 1hr, we get a tour for 12.30pm, tour took 3.5 hrs. Get back to train station for a train at about 5.30pm. HOW TO AVOID Booked tickets here visit.auschwitz.org it's the place that's does the tours. 10,000 people come through everyday and they have 300 guides, that speak 20 languages. It's a well oiled machine. Catch the train Its an hour train trip from Krakow main station to Oświęcim (polish spelling of auschwitz), and a flat walk of about 20min to the museum where tour startes or there is a bus. read more

I am rarely one to complain but this is by far the worst experience I have had with a booked experience/ tour. We were told by our tour guide Adrianna by text to wait at the bus stop in Oswiecim. Next to one of the bus stops on our journey was a sign for reading Oswiecim. Seeing others get off the bus we reasonably assumed this was the bus stop Adrianna was referring to. We soon found out this was the bus station and one stop away from the museum. After waiting for 10 minutes for a response from the guide team we were told to get a taxi to the museum (at our own expense.) Once we arrived at the correct bus stop we were left waiting for another 20 minutes before Adrianna finally arrived. Upon raising our annoyance that we had now missed 30+ minutes of time at the museum Adrianna immediately became hostile and began shouting at me, saying it was our fault since others had arrived and we had been told to get off at the last stop. I am not exaggerating when I say this is the most belittled I have felt in a very long time. What could have been 15 minutes of lost time due to bad communication ended up ruining the whole experience due to the awful attitude of the staff. We were rushed around the museum and still ended up missing a significant portion of Auchswitz. We are visiting from the UK and paid significantly to come here only to have our trip ruined. On top of which we are yet to receive any response or apology from the supplier. I am disgusted to have paid for this service only to be spoken to like a child and miss significant parts of a museum that it's unlikely I will have another opportunity to visit for a long time. read more

Poor service and double the ticket price they take in commission. Everyone waiting outside in the cold for the guide even though I booked skip the line tickets and not guided tour. Everyone advised to wait outside so that they don't see original ticket prices! Terrible service, huge ripoff!! read more

Super bad.TOTAL SCAM - FRAUD I showed up at 10:30 am at the meeting place for a guided tour from Kraków to Auschwitz. No one showed. I called Discover Kraków. I was told that the tour was cancelled, with no explanation, but there would be another one at 12:30 at another pick up location. Then I got a message saying the driver would be there at 1 PM. At 1:20 and still no driver, I spoke again to Discover Kraków. He said he had no idea when the driver would get there. It was at this time he also told me that because of the delay the guided tour I was scheduled for it was canceled, and all I was getting was a ride. A ride that still had not shown up. So he picked us up at 1:30 - an hour late. Then, 20 minutes later, we arrived at the ORIGINAL pickup point where I was standing 3-1/2 hours ago, to pickup more passengers. We arrive at Auschwitz after 3:30 pm. It closes at 4:30 pm. SCAM !!! Don't book with these guys ! read more

We booked a tour to the Zakopane and Trata Mountains and got ripped off!!! They charged us 600 zl per person only to the see an old ski lift, a small town and no Trata Mountains which was supposed to be the highlight of this tour. Driver did not say anything until We asked about it, then he said "I am only a driver, complain to company." Lesson Learned. read more
Fabulous tour guides! I located this group online after I initiated a search for local tour guides because I wanted to do two things on the same day: Auschwitz and the Salt Mines. Their website was very easy to use and for a tour that included a bus to/from the site (they even pick you up if necessary), the guides at both sites, lunch (even though I was NOT expecting it!) the price is beyond reasonable, given the exchange rate in Poland. I was contacted a few weeks earlier regarding my online reservations and the representatives were extremely helpful. Once we were onsite, we were handed off to another staff member who took us along a tour of both sites and were laden with information regarding the various stops. After the Auschwitz tour, they took us back to the market square for the next pickup for the Salt Mines. I highly recommend both tours as well as purchasing your tickets with this organization. They are efficient, the offices accessible/friendly/knowledgeable and overall, yet another pleasant find during my tour of Cracow. Would rate them 10 stars if I could! Please remember to tip the driver plus the tour guides. The appreciation is two-fold :) read more

I arranged two tours through my Airbnb host. One for the Salt Mines and one for Auschwitz. The Salt Mines was fine, but it wasn't especially fun, exciting, or interesting. However, my experience with Discover Cracow at Auschwitz is what is printing this review. I was five minutes late to the meeting spot (my Uber dropped me off and told me we were closer) and the employees there not only made me feel badly, but talked about my lateness with other passengers on the bus. It was really hurtful, as I am a 22 year old girl traveling alone for the first time. On the ACTUAL tour, I felt like there was so much information skipped over, we actually didn't enter certain buildings at Auschwitz. But even worse, the guides didn't make any effort to make it an impactful experience. It was very matter of fact and emotionless. Only once on the entire tour of Auschwitz-Birkenau did the guide tell a true story of a prisoner of the camp. I can't even find the words to express the disrespect I felt by the guides. They were laughing and joking between Auschwitz and Birkenau, and on the way home as well. They are supposed to set the tone for such a visit. If you are a Jew, and you are going to Poland to learn and honor our history, do NOT take this tour. Find a Jewish group to go with, so you can truly feel like you're with other people who this land and this terror of our history matters to. read more

Be clearer about your directions for bus pick up at the Museum. In a crowded parking lot full of other tour buses, we didn't know which bus to look for and where to go. We saw the Discover Cracow shuttle and apparently that was not getting us back to Krakow. The guide could barely communicate and give clear directions. Read emails and tickets over and over and they were useless in providing guidance as well. read more

I joined a Salt Mines tour with Discover Krakow last minute and the experience was amazing! There is a lot of walking between areas and some waiting throughout the tour, but our guide Sebastian filled the down time with dry, sarcastic humor. Some topics included: Polish politics, hard labor, and Twitter. The whole tour took around 3 hours or so, and your ticket includes a huge lunch at a nearby pub when you get back into town. read more
