We used this travel agent to book a 10 day sea & land tour to Alaska. 7 days on the ship and 3 day land tour. This trip was booked 6mo in advance. This trip was supposed to be the trip of a lifetime, it would have been if the travel agent would of done his due diligence. We had to fly into Canada to board the ship, we found out the hard way, if you have any felonies, no matter how old, you will NOT be permitted entry into Canada!! Even it's to board a cruise ship! We paid a lot of money for this trip, we thought that going through a travel agent, everything would be planned for us, it wasn't! This travel agent and the cruise ship do not state in any of their brochures these restrictions. So, if you plan on traveling to another country, make sure you will not be denied entry before going!!! This travel agent will take your money, the rest of the planning is up to you!! The first time I used Discover Cruises & Travel's services he sent my wife (girlfriend at the time) and me on a Mediterranean cruise in 2012. Chris (the owner) made the process extremely simple. He worked with us step by step. We knew we wanted to start and end our trip in Florence but not much more than that. He arranged the flights, the car service from airport to hotel, which trains to take, how to get to and from the cruise terminal and made sure we had all the right documents so that we didn't have to stress about anything. We had a blast! I'm a frequent traveler, but had never used a travel agent before, so I was happily surprised to find that not only does using a travel agency not cost extra, but that he was also able to get us a lower rate than we had found on the Internet. In 2015 Chris sent my wife and I on our honeymoon to the Mayan Riviera. We stayed at Secrets Maroma Beach and again, Chris took care of EVERYTHING. He had the limo pick us up from the reception and take us to the airport hotel. He arranged the car services, the shuttles, the flights, as well as the resort. He even included how much we should tip our various drivers. He made sure that the resort knew we were on our honeymoon, and we had a bottle of champagne and a note from Chris waiting for us. Chris goes above and beyond to make everything as easy as possible for his clients. While in Italy, we stupidly missed one of our trains before the cruise and had to call Chris (international roaming charges) over the weekend. He got our message and got back to us within 15 min, even though it was his day off. That's dedication to your clients! Thanks, Chris! I was referred to Chris reference booking a cruise. I usually make my own travel arrangements but was a little nervous handling this on my own as it entailed travel out of the country. I am also totally unfamiliar with cruising, so I wanted an agent who was very familar with cruises. I felt I had to do most of my own research and leg work on this. I often had to contact him for information rather than he keeping me informed. It added a lot of stress to the trip....I thought travel agents were suppose to make things easier. In the end I even had to book my own plane seat, which he was suppose to take care of....got almost the last seats on the plane. I had been on a cruise about 10 years ago and went through AAA. I don't remember having to go through all this hassle. Compared notes with other cruisers and they thought the agent should have handled more. I even googled to research what travel agents are suppose to do for you, to see if I was expecting too much, doesn't seem like it. If I had known this ahead of time I would have booked through Costco, probably saved more money and gotten more perks. read more

I normally book my own travel arrangements, but we asked Holly Johnson to look at a cruise to Italy and Greece we were considering. She found a better cruise; one that fit our itinerary perfectly, and booked that, plus hotel stays on either end of the trip far better than I could have ever done! She also made arrangements for things I didn't fully consider or have a good grasp on, such as transportation to and from the airports and to and from the ship. The hotels she chose were fantastic and all lended to the fantastic experience we had on our dream trip. Holly also recommended we take certain tours on our trip and none of them disappointed. She checked in with us by text to make certain things were going as planned and it gave us peace of mind to know she was on top of things, despite the time difference, if anything went wrong.
