Not saying it's acceptable but shit happens and definitely not making any excuses. Momma of 4 here trying to do my thing. Too stressful and when the kids don't go when to your facility when schools out we still get charged (get it's a policy but it's a bit cra) and it is expensive. I put in for the financial help and still haven't heard back on it. This was at the beginning of the year too. Looking for another daycare even for the last few months this school year. I don't think any parent should feel this much anxiety and stress at their kids aftercare program.

The owners Tammy and Scott have been in the community for a long time. Their staff has also been with them for a long time and that kind of consistency speaks volumes for a childcare center. When I originally started looking for a preschool for my first son I went to a few very well-known local facilities and was not impressed at all. Each time I walked into the facilities I would just stand and listen to how the teachers were interacting with the children and how the children were playing until someone noticed i was in the facility and then I would ask for a tour. I was never happy with what I heard or saw. When I visited Holy Cross I walked in and just sat and listened I did not hear any children getting yelled at the place seemed very clean the teachers were interacting with the kids respectfully and the children seemed like they were having fun. Another reason why I like this facility is because it's smaller and the teachers and director are women who are a little bit older that are well seasoned and not like the typical younger people who like to be on their phones and not watch the children. I've had all three of my boys attend their preschool program and their VPK programs and I absolutely would recommend this place to everybody. If you're looking for a place that has smaller ratio teacher/child, well seasoned teachers and a clean Facility this places for you. Also the prices are very reasonable if that is a factor in finding the right facility for you.

Very disappointed with this establishment, on my daughters very first day they called her mother…read moresaying that our daughter was crying and that they couldn't get her to calm down so she ended up calling me to let me know because she was working and I called them immediately to see what was going on. I tried to explain that when she gets upset sometimes she makes herself throw up because she gets so emotional and they said that was what she was doing because it was nap time and she didn't want to take a nap. I tried to explain that she hadn't been in a daycare in almost a year and it would take some time to adjust and the lady rudely said with a very sassy attitude "well that's why I called to see what I could do to get her to calm down" so I asked to speak to my daughter and then she said that she didn't want me to speak to her because she was calmed down and thought she would start crying again if I spoke to her. I just didn't understand why they didn't start the conversation off with that instead of leading me to believe that she was still crying. I kind of got the vibe right then that this place wasn't going to work out. Of course I ended up picking her up right after I got off the phone with them and I figured maybe I was overreacting and give it one more chance then the next day they sent home a note saying that she was having a hard time listening. Then the day after that my daughter came home and said that the teacher hit her in the face. I didn't see a mark but Madelyn "my daughters mother" said that they were acting very weird when she came in to pick her up and that as soon as they got in the car my daughter said that the teacher hit her in the face. All night we kept asking her over and over and she kept saying the same exact thing until the end of the night she said that the teacher said it was an accident so we really didn't know what to think but we figured something happened but they obviously weren't going to say anything about it. The next day I brought her in just to see how everyone was acting and they were pretty nice as I figured they would be if anything had happened and I walked her to the section of the kids her age she had been going to and told her to listen but told her ahead of time to make sure if anything happened again to tell the teacher that she was going to tell me if they touched her in any inappropriate way and that I would call the police on them. That very day when Madelyn went to pick her up they ended up switching her teacher to another teacher and basically put her with different kids and they also tried saying that she was causing problems and they were going to kick her out of the daycare. This pretty much confirmed that something had happened and they were trying to cover themselves. I would definitely not recommend this place for your child please pick somewhere safer. They are not friendly at all or a family oriented facility like I've read in some of the other posts and they are definitely not a family oriented establishment. Someone from their establishment or friends of theirs must have made those posts to make them look good. All of this happened in not even a week and the following Monday they ended up calling me before noon and I had to pick her up again and decided not to bring her back and they made it seem as if they kicked her out and charged us for that full week.

The food that is given is not very nutritious ("mixed cereal"- lucky charms and other cereals just mixed together or just a cereal bar or maybe some crackers and cheese for breakfast) the portion size are quite sparse too from what we saw from drop off in morning. Then given a hour by hour break down of general what suppose to be happening in class. We as our child if they did prescribed activity they would more time than not say no. An every day when we would pick up our child would be plopping front of tv screen and teachers would be cleaning up so what ever they say in on the schedule for after 5pm is incorrect the teachers wouldn't be cleaning up if would actually going to go back and do something. The teachers communication was horrible would just post things on door or a wall and just Lt expect the parents to see it. The school doesn't involve the parents no parents teacher review few if any way for parents to be involved. Say they post pictures or thing to their Facebook page and rarely sow any there and or don't remember ever signing a consent form for our child's pictures to but posted up. Would not recommend.

This is all a parent really wants when it comes to their child. I love Care-A-Lot Preschool and I am so happy to have found them. Most days he walks right in, no problem, not even a wave :) A huge bonus is the papers that come home everyday telling you what they ate ETC. Very helpful when trying to watch out for allergic reactions. I am so happy there!
