Since the new director, Courtney, took over, I began receiving calls almost every other day to pick my child up for simply "not listening." To be clear, my daughter was not being violent or physically harming anyone--she was being treated like normal childhood behavior was a major issue and she's only 4. What's even more concerning is what I observed through the cameras. Instead of redirecting or positively guiding the children, teachers frequently yell at them throughout the day. It creates a stressful and unwelcoming environment that is completely inappropriate for young kids. A VPK teacher Ms. Pat walked out due to being "overwhelmed" and I overheard her on the phone tell my daughter in a loud tone "don't talk to me ever again" which my daughter told me herself what was said. Another teacher also admitted to beating her own child which is kind of concerning considering she works with children.. I would not recommend this daycare to anyone. The difference became immediately clear when I moved my daughter to a new daycare--on the very first day, she was noticeably happier and more at ease. That alone confirmed I made the right choice.

I used this service about 20 times for babysitting needs. The app lets you choose from a list of providers to send the job to but that doesn't mean you're going to get any of those sitters, in fact I never once got any of the sitters I chose from. That being said, we had one woman who repeatedly babysat for us and things seemed fine with her the first 6 times or so. Then one day my 11 year old tells me he and his little sister (3 year old) were left in the toy are of target for half an hour alone. Being that kids don't have the greatest sense of time I asked how he was sure it was that long, he stated there was a clock on the wall that he looked at. I asked if the sitter said anything when she left or came back and he said she acted like nothing happened and just asked why his sister was upset (she was getting restless and hungry and my son was doing his best to make sure they stayed in the same spot). He doesn't have a phone so no way to reach the sitter or anyone in this situation. I checked with the store and they reviewed the tape and confirmed the timeframe. Aside from this incident the sitter was late twice, which as I mentioned to the company that normally I wouldn't even bring up but when you pair that with the target incident and other things, it paints an overall poor picture of the services. Another sitter we had (that I had not met before, remember the send you whoever is available and you may not even get to speak to the person before they show up, as was the case with this young woman), let the kids play in the rain on a chilly day and didn't have them shower or anything afterwards. Again, in the grand scheme of things not a huge deal but that's an odd choice to make when it's your first time babysitting for someone. It's not like my kids are used to playing in the rain so this isn't something they would've asked to do normally. Just odd. Yet another time when we were due to have a new sitter she texted me at 1am to introduce herself. Overall for the price they charge it's not even close to being worth it. You're better off finding someone on Facebook and interviewing/calling references.

After seeing so many great reviews and recommendations for Buddha Bellies, we booked the birth and postpartum doula services and honestly couldn't be happier. You get a pair of birth doulas to ensure one is available for when you give birth. Both were knowledgeable, friendly, and super supportive throughout my pregnancy. After an initial zoom call to get to know each other, we had a group text chat to check in and answer any questions I might have. They also suggested things to bring to the hospital, like an essential oil diffuser that really helped me and the nurses loved. My on-call doula on the day my son was born was Susan, and she was a lifesaver!! She arrived at the hospital promptly (despite living an hour away) and helped keep my husband and I calm. My husband had to leave for an hour to bring our dog to his boarding location, and so I was so grateful I had Susan with me during that time. I tried to give birth without an epidural, and her magical massages literally saved me and brought me to 6cm dilated. At that time, I decided I definitely did want/need an epidural, and she was very supportive of my wishes. She honestly felt like she became family that day and was so dedicated to my comfort. I can't imagine having done this without her. We're now onto the postpartum doula phase, and while we just started with our overnight care, we are SO glad that we made the decision to have a postpartum doula (kind of like a night nurse in this scenario). So far, it has been absolutely wonderful--the doula is very caring and loving to my baby boy and gives me a few extra hours of sleep each night, which is invaluable. As newbie parents, she offers advice and reassurance that things (like infant gas!) are normal. We are able to sleep soundly knowing that our son is safe with her in the other room! The Buddha Bellies support staff have also been excellent. It was very easy to be matched with and interview doulas--we hired ours on the very first try, as they were all of amazing quality, friendly, and with great experience/reviews. She was very professional & inquired about likes/ dislikes, ages & medical history of my children. Our situation was a bit inconvenient in that the surgery center had no confirmed time until the evening prior to surgery. The sitter assured me that was no problem & she was available for as long as we needed her & short notice was not a problem either. The ultimate of kindness!She arrived with a bundle of games, goodies & toys to entertain 3 toddlers with for the day. She was warmly welcomed by my 3 overzealous toddlers- who have never had a sitter/nanny. She truly was excited and ready for a day of fun as well! My kids had a Wonderful day! I truly felt confident that my babies were in good hands. I would recommend this service to anyone staying at a hotel that may need nanny services! Instead of demonstrating understanding or support, the director was condescending and dismissive. What was especially concerning was that she took it upon herself to diagnose my child as autistic based on her "20+ years of experience." I found this extremely inappropriate and unprofessional, as she is not a licensed medical professional and should not be labeling children in this way. As a parent, I was hoping for compassion, patience, and partnership in helping my child grow, especially since this was his first time attending daycare and he needed to adjust to social interactions. Instead, I left feeling judged and disheartened. I would not recommend Oak Crest Preschool to families who value inclusivity, empathy, and professional boundaries. I paid $225 for the registration and curriculum fee non-refundable, which I worked hard to afford, yet it was clear that the curriculum was never applied to support my child. After only 1 day, my child was judged without a fair chance.

From my experience I can say it is in a safe and convenient location and the owners daughter who was there when my last child was briefly enrolled is lovely to deal with but the actual owner and face of the facility is passive aggressive, and condescending at the very least. Every-time there was a request for anything she refused to accommodate it. For the cost it is not a deal and does not provide adequate services. My last child was attacked and this was the third time in three days, he was left with a deep scratch in his face that is now a permanent scar a year later. He also "fell" into a bookshelf that left possible fracture in his skull and permanent calcification and dent in his forehead. The doctor said it will Most likely never go away (happened 19 months ago) The first two requests on the injuries that had occurred previous to the serious one were dismissed despite my son telling me another kid hurt him. Additionally my son had a medical emergency (seizure) and requested to see footage per the doctors request and they refused to help me obtain this. Lastly to these isolated incidents, I have never felt more unwelcome in a place that I spent thousands and thousand of dollars at. We have switched to a different preschool and it is like day and night compared to Oak Crest, I didn't realize until i switched how terrible my experience over a 4 year period actually was. They really could improve how they treat staff and families and ultimately the care they provide kids.
