Centurylink is evil...lol...I gave them so much money for a service that they couldn't provide me,…read more(they said I'd get 10bps ...Max I got 2.8bps for like $130 per month) because I lived in an area that was monopolized by them. Our entire community was outraged by the lack of service and price. I'm shocked that the FCC hasn't shut them down...Then...somehow, Brightspeed got involved, and it took a year for them to stop hounding me after I moved from my home and paid my bills...I couldn't get ahold of billing. I would call Centurylink to figure out why I was still having to pay, they said to call Brightspeed, so I would call Brightspeed and I would be told I had no account to pay...but they continued to bill me and add late fees, and I was paid up! My credit score dropped during this time as well (for their mistake!)...Infuriating...I was getting phone calls 2-3x for per day for a year from collections...the only thing that made them stop was I finally said..."Okay...you all say you will escalate this...you've been saying this for a year, but I continue to get calls. So while I'm on the phone with you, I'm letting you know that I just hit send on my complaint to the FCC". The gal on the phone said, "No, please do not contact the FCC". I said, "Too late." Within a week, I received information from the FCC that Brightspeed would write them a letter explaining how they solved my problem." Then, bing-bang-boom...my problem was solved. the phone calls and the harassment finally stopped. Thank you FCC for protecting the consumer from companies like this! I wish I had $10k for every harassing phone from them...It was a headache and a frustration every day of my life for a year.

I contacted their cancellation department several times, and each time when I was assured we were done and they would be sending me a refund... it never happened. This continued for seven months. When I finally got someone competent enough to actually process the refund and get things sorted, they sent me a refund for one months service... on a gift card that I received late and would expire that month. Do not trust this company. I will never in my life go back to working with them. Thanks for nothing.

Lumos had a crew installing T-Mobile fiber at the house next door. They were blocking my driveway…read moreand mailbox. I asked them to move and they didn't. Later when my wife was trying to use our driveway to leave and could not. When she asked him to move he said I told him it wasn't necessary. When I told him he was wrong, things quickly escalated and he asked me if I wanted to "go" and his crew told me "I wasn't too smart" my wife deescalated... But why am I being told I will have my ass kicked in my own house, by someone digging a ditch next door? I called their supervisors at Lumos and T-Mobile. No one seems to care. Watch out for these thugs in your neighborhood!

I explained to the 2 different representatives that I spoke with that I would not consider doing business with a company that has already misrepresented themselves and made promises about a promotion in the past that they are not willing to honor. I submitted a claim for no service and was told they could see service had been performing in adequately for awhile and we could get a bill adjustment when issue was resolved; however, they could not give any timeframe when the issue was going to be repaired. Received word today that issue was resolved but would only be given credit from when time i submitted a work ticket and not from the time they were able to track that we had been receiving less than optimal service. Will be concealing service as soon as possible. I was told when I signed up for service that I was not under a contract. Funny, now that I want to cancel, I'm under contract!

Dish salesperson solicited me at my residence to offer a Dish One service with broadband service…read morethrough cell towers. I told them I will only subscribe if they could get at least 45 mbps. Technician can and installed and he got 4,5 mbps, but said a cell tower was down. When the tower comes online you'll get high speed service. The only to get the service was to subscribe to the satellite service. Well 3 days into we started the see problems. Day 5 we called Dish. Day 9 a service tech came out and stated you don't have any internet because he could not get above 4.2 mbps. He stated that the service should have never been installed. Well the internet service was cancelled without penalty because it was a test trail. But they would not cancel the satellite service. The point here, if I was told the truth about the internet service, I would not have entered into a contract with people who don't tell the truth just so they can earn a dollar from me for poor service.
