This company is the by far the Worst company ever!/ They want to charge you. Then over 62% of the time you can not get wifi! When you call them they blame it on the provider! Have been a customer for approx 3 years, and can't say enough about the service they've provided me. Quick to reply to voicemails, and emails. Currently have a broken fiber line that contractor cut, and Amber has made a point to come out the next day. Mothers day weekend would be hard at my house with no internet. Keep up the great work. I have to turn off my WiFi just to make a phone call. I have called the, so called, "customer service" several times about the lack of speed and reliability only to be asked if I want to cancel my service. The owner Sam does not care about his customers at all. He even had the nerve of questioning why I was working at 10:30pm. This is the worst service I've ever had in my 62 years on this earth. My internet goes out multiple times a day. I've sent hundreds, yes hundreds of messages of no service and is rarely addressed. A year has gone by and the available speed has increased greatly. I used to barely be able to watch videos, but now I get more than enough speed to watch any videos I want... when it is working. They had a streak of some months when the service was generally available, but the last few months it has been *very* uneven. Videos pause from time to time and are slow to start. Sometimes my email times out and email is one of those things that work over *dialup*!!! I suspect when it gets like this it is because there is an equipment problem and they are not capitalized well enough to be able to get good equipment or to repair what they have. So service is very uneven. That said, if you need more than limited Internet access, there just isn't an affordable alternative. The cell phone companies limit how much data you can use without overage charges and the other wireless operator (used to be Va Broadband) has a cell like business model. Satellite is the pits, I don't know anyone who is happy with that. I don't know when the central Virginia area will have really decent high speed internet, but iWisp, even with all it's reliability problems, is the closest any provider gets. Speeds have been dropping and service outages more frequent over the last year. When tech support if ever gets back to us it's always a different excuse. We have had iwisp for 3 or 4 years at a house located off of a Kentucky Springs Road. At the beginning the performance was reasonably fast. Over the past year or two it has increasingly become slow and ineffective. I guess they have just signed up too many customers without increasing the capacity of the system. When I get a better choice I'm going to switch. It can be stupid slow with one iPhone active surfing the web. It streaming videos or gaming, just basic surfing. read more

Our family has been a iWisp customer for 4-5 years. Initially it was quite fast and were were very pleased. Over the first couple years, the speed slowed considerably, but they upgraded their equipment and the service improved. Unfortunately, it has recently gone to crap. At times, we can't even pull emails, where in the past we have been able to stream up to 3 separate devices. Customer service is non-existent. The phone is rarely, if ever answered. Emails receive sporadic responses. Any questions are basically double-talk. Promised are made but rarely kept. He offered to upgrade our equipment, but never showed up. The owner has basically zero customer service skills. We are paying $50 a month for a service that is worth $0 given the current reliability. In my humble opinion, the owner has over-subscribed the service, meaning he has more customers than his bandwidth can handle. He will dispute this, but is unable to provide an alternate reason for the poor service. Satellite Internet is not a viable alternative, as it is slow and metered - the more data you use the higher the bill. We can hope Elon Musk gets his Starlink service available to the Lake Anna area soon. We have signed up to be early-adopters. Even if the prices is double what we are currently paying, it would be worth it if it is as fast and reliable as Elon says it will be. When that occurs, iWisp will be history unless he gets his act together. read more

WE are located in Sunset Harbour at Lake Anna.We have used IWISP for over 2 years and have heard every excuse that Sam could come up with as to why our wifi wasnt working. He was almost always rude to my wife when she called and she called a lot .We lost connection weekly. We cancelled IWISP this August when we learned that COMCAST was available. This caused a new issue with IWISP (SAM) , Refunds, appears that when you cancel your service with them they no longer answer the phone or respond to it , rudely or not, or return emails. IWISP (SAM) owes us for 4 and a half months of service and we cannot get a reply. Do yourself a favor and do not get involved with this company. Let all of your neighbors know. Worst internet service I've ever had besides Viasat which only tops them due to fraudulent claims of fast internet speeds and limiting your data. Iwisp could care less about customer service and average speeds are 1mbps or less during normal times people use the service. Nearly impossible to run a home based business with speeds like this. Random outages seem to constantly new a problem with intermittent outages happening all the time. The moment a reliable, even what I would consider slow (10mbps) internet service comes to the Lake Anna area I will be the first to jump ship and pay more for a better company. read more

My service was good when I was about to cut my service off and go elsewhere but the quality has gone down significantly. The entire month of 12/2019 was awful and it has taken me almost two week to get a response to my problems... now with holidays internet services are required for gifts that were purchased. So basically holidays have been fully stressed because there is no service to use. I have used all of our hotspots on our iphones for service and now that is almost depleated I finally get an email saying my payment is late...yet I paid! Then I get an email saying there is a" slip " .. I think its about service(since I have sent texts to technical on a daily basis)...but no Its about their billing issues that have had a slip and they want you to send proof that you have sent payment. They mention the owners health is doing better and that is great... but there is no mention of reception. I look on yelp I am not the only one having issues with this problem. Its just upsetting. I mean I have texted technical department everyday for eight days showing that my speed is down to single mb/s digits - sometimes a number doesn't even pop up...when it use to be close to 19( when I was going with another company). Yet no response....not until I have to actually ask if anyone is actually doing the work other than billing and wanting our money do I get a response of "we are working on it for last two months, maybe next week"- maybe? Why didn't we get this in the email that was sent out so whe know what is going on. I just feel like I have been with them for years thru the crisis and have only attempted to leave once and volia- my speed came to the highest that we have ever had....yet that depleated with in weeks. I mean I appreciate the service when it works but I feel as if the MONTHS it doesn't work I should be credited. I never leave these remarks but I am thouroughly upset with my service.. I have been a customer for atleast 9 years maybe even longer. I just wished my concerns were addressed in a timely matter instead of having to be incesive and rude which is unlike my character but when this happens its upsetting. I also live in the Windwood Coves community, and I have found iWisp to be pretty good. If you live near Lake Anna you cannot get cable or fios, so your only options are iWisp or Internet via a satellite dish. iWisp is the more economical choice. iWisp will also suspend service for up to four months at no cost for the "part-time" residents of Windwood Coves. read more

Based on the previous reviews I was hesitant about this internet service, but after putting up with Hughesnet and it's limited data for 10 years, the family insisted we try Iwisp. I kept Hughesnet just in case this service would not workout. Other than one hiccup, but that was during a bad storm; the company was contacted about our outage, a reply was returned and within a reasonable amount of time the service was back up, and no further problems so far. I am happy to say that Hughesnet, it's limited and data throttling, will be kicked to the curb. read more

Since my last post my frustration level was quite high. It has come to my understanding that another company had cut this company's cables that use the same tower at that time. To date the internet service has been working great and the cost is very reasonable. I now rely on this company as my primary service and use another company as backup. read more

For over a week the internet speed has been blow 1 mb/s. It's so bad we can't even get a simple webpage to load. I have had to go somewhere else just download and upload anything i may need. We started out with 19 mb/s and each day after that the speed has slowed. They will not call you back if you leave a message. Bad customer service. Pay for a service and then can't even use it. They do not return calls, Facebook messages, and/or texts. I first reached out to them about service on August 9, 2018 and have not received any information about service to my address. I even asked, if they were still in business. At this point, I would not enter into a contract with a company such as this with extremely poor customer service, and I can assume poor business practices. We live in the Windwood Coves neighborhood. We have had very slow internet speeds for many months. This is the third weekend in a row that we have NOT had internet service! I have been a user of Iwisp services since they began servicing Lake Anna, and I had previously used big name internet service provider, so was quite pleased to get a company so personally involved in assuring good customer service. This company communicates with its customers personally and immediately to inform of any upgrades, outages, plans, etc. I do not know of another company that does this. How reassuring it is to have someone to call, someone responsive and helpful in these days when so much is outsourced outside the country whose typical technical response is that the problem is with someone else's equipment. I use WiFi regularly in Aspen Hill at Lake Anna, and have no issues with speed. The down time due to storms and lightning cannot be controlled, but the service was restored quickly. I understand frustration when it is not available, however, knowing in REAL time exactly what is going on helps me be a little more patient. I have only kudos for Iwisp; reasonable pricing, personalized service, speedy problem resolution and outstanding communication! read more
