They catered brunch for my son's graduation. The food was outstanding! The food arrived on time and the quantity was generous. The strawberry peach French toast casserole was amazing. Colleen from dish passionate does amazing work! Our food was delicious and we got so many compliments on it for our wedding! I was nervous about having Dish Passionate as our caterer since we didn't get a choice of caterers for going with our specific wedding reception venue- but she was awesome! My only complaint is that Dish Passionate does not communicate well via email. They were hard to get a hold of for setting up a tasting. Also they forgot to set aside a plain chicken for aunt who has many allergies- but she was able to eat something else from our buffet instead and had no complaints. Despite the communication- the day of our tasting and our wedding day- everything was perfect! They set up a table with white linen, and served us as if we were at a restaurant. The food was amazing and we got to try many things. They even let us take home the leftovers! It's so worth it to do the tasting- not only for price of mind but also their customer service and presentation! Thank you so much for our delicious wedding meal! We loved it!! read more

Our lunch group dines here twice a month. The variety of food they offer is fantastic! They have been quite flexible in offering vegetarian options with every meal and even accommodating vegan requests. Colleen and Liz are both very pleasant and professional in their correspondence. They have been great at taking the initiative to view my electronic invitation system to see how many people have signed up for each lunch. We have used several vendors in the past, and Dish Passionate Cuisine is clearly the best fit for our group. read more

Great venue for awesome downtown location. Pricing is decent. Really depends what your looking to do though. I've had multiple events and holiday parties there. The two owners are really nice and was always quick to answer a question I had. Food is so good! Anything you want to eat those guys in the kitchen can make it happen! Dish Passionate Cuisine was, by far, the most difficult vendor we dealt with through our wedding planning process. We first went to look at CityView a year before our wedding and we were aware that if we booked CityView as our space that we had to use Dish for our catering. Colleen, one of the owners and main point of contact, was late to meet with us and her sister, Liz, another owner, came to meet with us instead. Liz was very kind and gave us great information about the space and what Dish could provide. Later that day, we did meet with Colleen and she seemed very preoccupied with whatever event she was preparing for that evening. We waited several weeks to get an estimate from Colleen as we did not want to book the CityView space until we were sure what the pricing would be. After multiple requests, we finally got Dish's proposal and decided to book CityView. After a couple of months, Colleen emailed us to set up a tasting. Since we live in Chicago, we arranged a weekend tasking when we were able to come to Champaign. We tried many times through phone and email to confirm the date and time of the tasting in the days leading up to the tasting. After many phone calls and emails with no response from Colleen, we started our drive down to Champaign around 3PM that Friday. About an hour outside Chicago, Colleen emailed to cancel due to an emergency with the head chef. We understand that things like this happen, but she definitely could have called us to speak with us personally. We then had to reschedule the tasting and rescheduling took multiple emails and phone calls just to get ahold of Colleen. When the tasting finally did take place, the food was delicious and we really enjoyed our tasting. Once we had decided on the food and we knew what we wanted out of the space, linens, etc., we wanted to get all of this in writing from Colleen. Apparently this is a very difficult request. For THREE MONTHS, we called, emailed, even sent Facebook messages to Dish in an attempt to get ahold of Colleen to get a contract. We even emailed the manager of the CityView venue because we were having so much trouble. We were told that Colleen's "emails weren't going through" to us. After the holidays when we STILL had not heard back from Colleen in regards to a meeting and/or contract, we went to CityView in person to find Colleen. While making our way to the CityView space in the Illinois Terminal, we ran into a Terminal employee who was shocked at the experience we were describing. He called Colleen in our presence, and, of course, she answered right away. She told the employee that she knew we'd been trying to talk to her and she would call us. She did not call us. In fact, throughout the entire course of planning our reception, we never once spoke on the phone with anyone from Dish. We finally received an email from Colleen a few days later and were able to set up a meeting. At that meeting, we had to remind Colleen several times of things we had previously discussed and agreed upon. It was only a week or so before our wedding day that it felt like Colleen was finally ready to deal with us. However, even during that time we struggled with communication from Dish. One thing we want to make clear is that the day before and the day of our event, Colleen and Liz were very attentive and had very good last-minute ideas. They each checked on us multiple times during our reception, grabbing drinks and whatever we needed. They did secure additional tables for the space when we realized the layout wasn't working the day before the event. They even agreed to wash the vases we had rented from our florist, except they didn't follow through. They also assured us that the elevator would be locked until the specified times so guests would not arrive before the designated start time. The elevator was unlocked and guests were permitted to enter the venue prior to the start time despite multiple reassurances that they would take care of it and this would not happen. While our reception was lovely, it is not a complete reflection on the experience we had with Dish and especially Colleen. It's hard to fathom how Dish can stay in business with such poor customer service and communication. We were ignored for three months and never once did we get an acknowledgement or anything more than an obligatory "sorry" about delays in responding and communication. While Dish's prices and the end result were both very nice, if we had to do it again we would rather pay more in order to have a vendor that promptly answers emails and questions. We were contacted by a friend who knew we were working with Dish and was also having communication difficulties even before booking CityView. Future couples beware - no matter what Dish says up front to secure your business, you will have the same difficulties. read more

Highly disappointed with the communication. Several meetings were canceled last minute and I even showed up to one that was scheduled several weeks in advance and Colleen was not there. I wasted time and energy while getting what I felt like was the run around. In the end the food was good and the place looked nice but I don't know that it was worth the stress. There were emails, facebook messages, and text messages all left un responded to. As a business in this day and age you have to make communication a top priority. I finally was compensated after letting it be known that something would have to change. Also there are no assistants or anyone else to talk with. My reception was in the fall and the answering machine message said that they were out of the office for 4th of July. read more

Dish Passionate Cuisine, a horrible experience, never in my life have I encountered worse customer relations! More promises were made and not kept than you could imagine. Outside of first meeting owner Coleen was unreachable, constant emails and phone calls were completely ignored! Day of event, money was stolen from the card box, along with a letter to the Bride and Groom from his mother. Police and City View security did all they could to find the culprit , after looking through all security footage, conclusion that box was violated after employees of Dish Passionate Cuisine loaded it and gifts onto a cart and placed said cart in an area only they would know was not covered by cameras! Coleens response was silence! There were servers clearing drinks from the tables as guests were dancing, these were not finished drinks, merely set down to participate in the dancing and photos.This made drinks cost $6 a sip rather than a glass. Brides father and spouse put down several hundred dollars for a bar tab, 25 drinking guests were told after one hour the tab had run out. The money that was ripped off one way or another isn't the saddest part of this experience, the memories of deceit and dishonest wrapped up in this precious celebration will forever remain in the minds of this beautiful young couple. If it were not for the location, Dish Passionate Cuisine would surely not exist. We will absolutely look elsewhere for future celebrations. read more

We originally had booked our wedding reception at the City View Terminal in Champaign, IL, therefore were using Dish Passionate Cuisine for catering since that is their primary location. We had worked with Colleen to get everything squared away. However, we had to change our reception date and eventually the venue location due to the COVID 19 pandemic. When we had to change the date and the venue later on, we had reached out to Colleen. She was very difficult to get a hold of. She would not answer emails in a timely fashion and didn't return calls back, whether it was from myself or my parents. She would text occasionally when we called her and she was unavailable, but extremely brief and vague. We started to feel the crunch time pressure of changing the location and wasn't sure if she was going to respond. Once we heard from Colleen she was accommodating and was willing to work with us so we could change the menu to fit an outdoor location better. The day before our outdoor "I Do-BBQ" reception, Colleen's sister Liz came out to see the area and make sure all of our questions were answered. The day of the reception, Liz was the one who came out with the staff. They were super prompt and very professional. If there were questions on the food, Liz would either be able to answer right away or get the answer super quick. The staff was great. They were filling coolers, which wasn't their job, to help us out and make sure our guests were taken care of. The food was ready on time and Liz kept checking in with my parents and myself to ensure everything was going well. They had boxed up all the leftovers and made sure we knew where they were before they left. The food was outstandingly good!! So many of the guests commented on how delicious the food was! Definitely a good choice. The day of service and food was amazing. The communication during the planning was not good and definitely frustrating. Would recommend because the food was great but would warn brides to stay on top of communication. I want to give a 4-star review, except with all the stress of changing a wedding during a global pandemic and having to pretty much hunt down the caterer, while being on the verge of possibly finding a new one, was extremely frustrating. read more

This was my second experience with Dish Passionate Cuisine. We just had their boxed lunch for a work function. How disappointing and unappetizing. They should be ashamed to serve food like this. I had a Cesar salad with what appeared to be roasted chicken. The lettuce was wilted, brown, and even black! It was literally rotten! The basic dressing was loaded with sodium. The fruit salad was mushy and old. Most of my colleagues threw their lunch away because it was that bad. Shame on you, Dish Passionate Cuisine! read more
