During our last trip to Disney World, we stayed at Disney's BoardWalk Inn (first time) and fell in love with Disney's BoardWalk. Who knew that an entertainment district themed after turn-of-the-century Mid-Atlantic boardwalks (e.g., Coney Island, NY and Atlantic City, NJ) would have so much appeal? Well for us, it did. It's really charming and intimate, especially when compared to other parts of Disney World, like the relatively gargantuan Disney Springs. So, along with the fun and unique "seaside" period atmosphere, its size and the fact that this part of Disney isn't crowded had a lot to do with our enjoyment of Disney's BoardWalk. There's a black-and-white photo inside the BoardWalk Inn of the Three Stooges during an appearance at the Steel Pier in Atlantic City in 1938. To me, that photo encapsulates the time period and atmosphere that I think Disney aspired to recreate at the BoardWalk, and I think Disney was successful, for the most part. Aside from the Inn (and the Innkeeper's Club), highlights here include the Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers, Screen Door General Store (for exclusive BoardWalk merch), and Atlantic Dance Hall (cool they have this art-deco music venue here). My wife and I would like to return and have dinner at restaurants Flying Fish (seafood) and Trattoria al Forno (Italian). read more

Disappointed that Disney changed the rules to access the Boardwalk. Evidently they no longer allow handicapped drop-off for boardwalk access. We were told we should be privileged to park at a park and then find our way to the boardwalk. Impossible for an 82 year old who can only manage short distances. Shame. read more

What a beautiful place to walk and spend time with loved ones! Aesthetically, this spot is so peak! There's a bunch of food options and a beautiful lake. There is a good patch of grass that I imagine you can have a picnic on or read a book on. I loved walking over the bridge. This property connects to the other Disney properties. You can take the skyliner between this one and the other resorts. I also saw a ferry that I'm imagining you can take to Disney Springs! I saw a cool bakery restaurant that I would like to try in the future. I got a chance to try the pizza from the pizza place and I loved it. I have previously gone to Abracadabra bar as well as the Italian restaurant and both were really enjoyable. Definitely make the stop if you have the time! It's beautiful! read more

I've always felt that people sleep on Disney's BoardWalk, it's not in many conversations I see on social media (maybe that's just my perception), but I feel that it's one of the hidden gems on property. In essence, Disney's BoardWalk is a promenade that contains shops, restaurants, and some nightlife. The BoardWalk also houses the aforementioned Boardwalk Inn and Villas, with other hotels a short walk away. There are several ways to reach the BoardWalk. If you're staying in an Epcot area resort you can walk there, take a boat, or the Skyliner; if you're in Epcot or the Studios you can do the same. Most of the shops and restaurants stay open until 11pm or midnight, so this is a good option for something to do at night in addition to Disney Springs. As far as offerings, it's kind of a mixed bag. For nightlife it's kind of a joke - there's a dueling piano bar which charges a $22 cover (no thank you), and dance club that always looks dead. They have some carnival games which one tends to find on boardwalks which is fun, as well as some stands that sell drinks, corndogs, and pretzels. The other restaurants and eateries are pretty good - though I do feel that while some fit the theming well, others seem out of place. Nevertheless, there's something for most palates. Shopping is nothing to write home about - the shops on the boardwalk serve as the gift shops for the Inn and Villas so outside of the resort-specific merch there's nothing outstanding. Overall, I think it's definitely worth checking out the BoardWalk at least once during your Disney travels. It may not be for everyone, but since I've stayed at the Boardwalk Villas on and off since I was a teenager, I'll always have a soft spot for it. read more

Love love love it here! One of the most underrated areas of Orlando Disney world area! So many great restaurants! The abacadabar is so good and in between the two best restaurants! First the Italian restaurants (just follow your nose to the delicious aroma of garlic) then flying fish! OH MY soo good!!! We went into the boardwalk Disney store and the Mickey scones sooooo good! There's a yummy ice cream place and the cake spot! Haven't wanted to drop that much cash for one slice of cake yet but is smells wonderful and it's such a beautiful setting With all white and pink flowers. The whole area is so nice! It's peaceful and they do have lots of sitting and shows here and there. It's a wonderful place to rest after Epcot. The ferry Epcot takes you right to where you need to stop walk up and around the corner and boom You are at the boardwalk! read more

Ah, Disney's BoardWalk -- the prettiest piece of Atlantic City cosplay you'll ever see. Opened in 1996, it was Disney's answer to the golden-age seaside resorts of the early 1900s. The architecture is pure magic: whimsical, nostalgic, and so charming it almost makes you forget a churro costs $8. Now, don't get me wrong -- this is one of my absolute favorite spots in all of Walt Disney World. A stroll around here at night feels like stepping into a postcard: the lights reflecting on the water, the performers on the promenade, the smell of fried food that may or may not be coming from your wallet spontaneously combusting. But let's talk about the entertainment. The Dance Hall? Still fun, but badly in need of a refresh. It's like that uncle at a wedding who refuses to update his playlist past 1998. And Disney, explain to me like I'm five -- why would you take away Jellyrolls? That piano bar was the crown jewel of late-night Disney chaos. If you stayed until closing, the Disney cops would literally escort you back to your hotel like you were a tipsy VIP. Magical, hilarious, and sorely missed. Now? The BoardWalk is still beautiful, but it's begging for reinvention. Right now, it feels like Imagineering built a masterpiece and then said, "Eh, good enough, let's go ride Guardians of the Galaxy." Christoph the Insultor would say: "You call this nightlife? I've seen more action at a nursing home bingo night, and at least they had free Jell-O shots." Still -- even with its flaws, Disney's BoardWalk remains one of the most enchanting places on property. The architecture, the history, the atmosphere -- it's Disney at its most romantic and nostalgic. I just hope someday they give it the love it deserves, because this spot could (and should) be the crown jewel of nighttime Disney World. read more

Love this cute boardwalk! We walked it often to get from our hotel to Epcot when we stayed at the dolphin resort! It has cute little shops and lights during the evening. The only issue we had was that there are games on the boardwalk but the workers were so mean. My daughter is 2.5 years old and wanted to do the water game. There was no one else around and the lady would not let my daughter play by herself. She was adamant we needed 2 players.. even though we are in the same family. It was ridiculous. The workers were on their phones and could care less about how excited my daughter was to do this. Honestly not a good representation of Disney at all and sadly they are correlated with it for the "Disney boardwalk". The shops and ice cream were great though and the workers were very nice! Such a cute boardwalk! It was our first night when we arrived, and it was such a beautiful way to start our trip. We were instantly transported to what felt like another world! Excellent entertainment, eats, and shops! We took the tram from our resort and it was a quick walk in the rain to our dinner. We stayed after and enjoyed the sights and got some desserts. The cake shop and the ice cream shops are so freaking adorable, definitely instagram worthy. I wish we had more time to explore throughout our trip, I am definitely going back. read more

The Disney Boardwalk! That we stumbled upon because we didn't know this even existed! lol So, we were trying to get to the Disney EPCOT, and the Disney bus or shuttle driver dropped us off here at the Boardwalk. We were confused lol We thought that EPCOT was close by (we were not sure about this). The driver told us if you walk that way (he pointed off to a direction) then you will get to ECPOT. We thought- Okay cool! And then walking along the Boardwalk we realized this was a great place for shopping and eating. Also, there is a giant resort here that looks very nice. We eventually called an uber to pick us up because we got lost and couldn't find the EPCOT lol We are from California, not Florida and had no idea had to navigate the Disney grounds. But we made it and realized that the boardwalk was kind of close to EPCOT lol read more

I didn't get a chance to explore the boardwalk much, but what I did see I enjoyed. We came here specifically to get a slice of cake from the Cake bake shop. This was delicious and I would highly recommend stopping into this place. I would love to spend more time on the boardwalk during my next trip. Our days started with coffee and danishes from Boardwalk Bakery -- including delicious croissants, cinnamon rolls, and muffins. While this location and has so much potential if Disney builds it up and adds more to do, we found it very underwhelming/too small. The waterfront location is beautiful. We did enjoy some snacks and a walk around the area. Fingers crossed that they add more and one day I get to update this review to five stars. We really enjoyed this area. It was our first time visiting. It is a very quaint area to walk around, and they have entertainment on the boardwalk. We ate at the Italian restaurant, but there are a few other options along the boardwalk like pizza and tacos. I have heard you can see fireworks from here however our timing was not right this time. We took an Uber after reading reviews because I heard they often only have valet parking. It's definitely worth the visit! read more

Location is great for Epcot entertainment. The boat ride to the park was easy. There is only one bus stop so be patient while waiting for your bus to different parks. Compared to other resorts I have stayed at I will not be back to stay but maybe to enjoy the walk. The rooms are small and a bit dated. I had the one bedroom and it was on the small side. I didn't see the value but as always the cast members keeps the magic alive. read more

What can I say? Best place ever, when visiting the Walt Disney World? ... hell yes!!! If you can visit, even better if you can stay in the boardwalk resort, do! You will not regret it! This place is amazing, so many food and bar options, nightly entertainment and walking distance to two parks. We had the pleasure of staying at the boardwalk villas during our latest Disney trip and it was amazing! The hotel was perfect, plenty of space and super clean. The ability to be in the middle of the action, priceless. We had breakfast at the new Boardwalk deli which offers awesome bites and pastries. If you are just visiting the Boardwalk not staying at the hotel, I would not suggest for handicap guest unless parking offsite at Disney Springs and catching a Disney bus over works for you. I have been told that parking at the actual Boardwalk is at the discretion of the parking attendant due to full parking lots. Well I can tell you (and show you- see pictures) the parking lot was not full the day we visited and we were still turned away and told to park at the Springs and catch a Disney bus back to the Boardwalk. I have MS and ride a mobility scooter which makes that pretty difficult but I would say this is difficult for families with strollers and kids too. Always a lovely to come to Disney's Boardwalk. This place is usually not crowded since it's targeted for the crowd staying in the surrounding resorts. We didn't dine in this time as we only hung out and walked around for a bit, but there are plenty of options for food. I can't wait to come back. read more

We were staying at the Yacht Club and came over to the area for dinner. It was very empty on a Monday at 6 pm, so it was a nice walk, with benches everywhere for sitting and taking in the views. There are a few stores, several restaurants, an ice cream parlor and a few places to get drinks. All in all, not much going on and I think some of it is because of COVID, as several of the larger venues were closed. I would probably only come here if I was staying within walking distance as there wasn't a whole lot to do. read more

A NICE PLACE TO UNWIND AFTER A DAY AT THE DISNEY PARKS While visiting EPCOT, we took a water taxi from the EPCOT International Gateway entrance (near the France Pavilion) to the Disney Boardwalk. The free water taxi system connects the Boardwalk, the Beach Club and Yacht Club Resorts, the Dolphin and Swan Hotels and Hollywood Studios. Although you can walk from EPCOT to the Boardwalk, it is a long and unshaded hot walk. We enjoyed walking around the Boardwalk but would not put it on a Disney vacation must-visit list. If we were staying at one of the EPCOT area resorts, the Boardwalk might be a nice place to unwind after a day at the parks. The Boardwalk esplanade includes a dance club, the soon-to-be closed Jelly Rolls night club and generic Disney shops. On some nights, there are street entertainers on the Boardwalk. Restaurants include the Flying Fish and Trattoria al Forno that have been on the Boardwalk for years. The recently opened Cake Bake Shop has gained some notoriety for its over-the-top prices including $22 cake slices. Casual eateries (meh menus and mostly outdoor seating) include the recently opened Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs kiosk, the Pizza Window and the Boardwalk Deli. read more

The Boardwalk has this old school charm to it. I feel like I'm transported back in time. I love it. As far as restaurants go they have: Trattoria al Forno, The Pizza Window, Flying Fish, The ESPN club, the Boardwalk Bakery, Joes Margaritas and many more. I will recommend the Margarita booth, which is great. The Boardwalk Bakery is so disappointing. They "appear" to have some delicious things, but you buy them and they are terrible. The worst you can do is go to that Pizza Window. Just don't do it. High prices, crappy pizza. The Boardwalk is within walking distance of many things. These include: The Swan and Dolphin Hotel, Epcot, the Boardwalk Hotel and Yacht and Beach Hotel. So its super convenient. Parking is alittle tricky though. During the sunset you get beautiful views and it's a nice place to enjoy a calm afternoon. read more

Disneys boardwalk is a nice way to get away from the hustle and bustle of the Disney parks. It can be super low key but has plenty of food and drink options as well as night life. The tequila bar as amazing margaritas, and we made a few stops for those. There is a nice chill speakeasy for the whisky connoisseur (spent a few hours after kiddos went to bed) A night club/lounge that we are a bit removed from so I wouldn't have a clue how to accurately review. The location is super convenient and approximately a 5 minute walk to Epcot and hollywood studios or just a short boat ride as well. We opted to walk and avoided waiting on boats and you'll see why when you arrive. Plenty of quick dining experiences for the grab and go, as well a nice dining experience. All and all I would highly recommend staying at a boardwalk property(if you can find one) as they are becoming harder and harder to get at an affordable price point. The boardwalk was a great experience! It was a pretty big walk all the way around so you get your steps in, but enough benches, places to sit, and shops if you want to stop & pace yourself too. They also have a little beach area on the lake which was pretty nice. We also went on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't busy at all. Would definitely come again! read more

If you're hanging in the Disney Area for multiple days and you have a free day for exploring, Disney Boardwalk is worth a visit for the picture opportunities. I would probably suggest checking it out at night. We visited during the day and most of the main restaurants were not open yet. From what I've read and seen from other reviews, the Boardwalk seems to really come alive in the evening. All the restaurants, bars, entertainment etc is open at that time. We visited during the day and did a little Disney shopping at the main Disney gift store there. It a big store and more or less pretty empty so you can explore through the shop without crowds in your way. They had all the Disney essentials and then some. We took the Disney Boat to the Boardwalk which enhanced the experience slightly. I'd stop by here next visit only at night as there really isn't much to do during the day time. Good Luck! read more

We absolutely loved staying at this resort! The location is amazing. There are so many transportation options. You can take the boat, walk, the skyliner, the bus. We loved all the activity on the boardwalk at night, there were jugglers, acrobats, and entertainers of all kinds. We stayed in a 1 BR, which was awesome. Very spacious and had a full kitchen and laundry, which was a huge plus. We are breakfast in the room each day, which saved a lot of time and money. We thought the Deli was good for quick meals and the ice cream shop was great. Don't miss the Mickey's Kitchen Sink Sundae! Our room had hardwood floors and we could see both the MK fireworks and the Epcot Fireworks each night from our balcony! There is a movie on the lawn each night and smores as well. A OK. Five stars for photo ops, nightlife and overall beachy vibe. Two stars for daytime activities and offerings. One star for ease of access. I've been here several times at night and this is really the only time to hit up this area. Everything is open and there is a great piano bar that you just have to go to! Plus it's a little cooler at night and since the majority of this area is outside without covering, it's a nighttime space in Florida. During the day it's extremely limited on offerings. Many of the venues don't open til later and what is open has only a few things on offer for daytime visitors. There is no cover, as I stated, so it's hot during the midday time as well. They do have bike rentals and sitting areas that are nice. Parking is hit or miss. If there is any kind of event going on, they close the hotel parking lot to guests only access. This means that you will need to go to a park or to Disney Springs, catch a bus and take it to the Boardwalk. It's a 15 minute bus ride each way and it only drops you at the hotel, so it's another 10 minute walk to the boardwalk itself. Not easy access at all. Overall: B- Nighttime venue is really the only thing I'd recommend here. Hit them up for drinks and the piano bar! read more

The location is convenient to two theme parks and a number of restaurants. Unfortunately, the facilities are in need of numerous repairs. The lobby and DVC rooms have been "updated" which means modernized and in many regards, de-themed removing some of the charm. The public exterior areas have been left without proper maintenance and the actual boardwalk has broken boards and exposed nails/bolts. The ESPN club has been removed to be replaced by another dessert venue which may remove a full service restaurant option. The candy store was removed years ago and replaced by Abracadabar which, while creative, is an adult bar venue. Disney has gone all in on using alcohol as a revenue generator by also adding alcohol sales from stands along the boardwalk. May or may not return. read more

Don't waste your money here. There are so many other hotels that are nicer and that will respect you more. Not only did I have a Garden Villa room which was very expensive to begin with but we had 2 additional club level rooms as well. Check in was a joke, they were very rude and didn't explain nothing to us about the hotel at all not even giving us information on the club level perks etc. Day 1 at Disney at 10pm we were ready to come soak our feet and take a nice shower and bath. We get to the hotel and we have no hot water at all! We call down stairs and they tell us "oh yes we've had problems in that room before with no hot water" well why in the world would you even offer the room to someone then!! She said well if you turn it on and leave it on for a good while it should start to turn warm. She said I can request for you to move rooms or put in for them to come look at it. By this time at 11pm we just wanted to rest! We get a call first thing at 7am the next day asking do you guys still want to move rooms, I said well if we want to take a shower in the next 6 days then yes! They finally moved us to a new room 2 villas down well it wasn't too much better. The water did get warm (not hot) but now the phones didn't work. After speaking with several people about this experience here we got the impression nobody really cared at this point. The only person that seemed to help was George and Indian gentleman that was very nice and helpful! I'm just saying if you want more for your money don't go here. Try the Yacht club. read more

Disney is a place full of magic not just the amusements parks but experiences like Disney boardwalk makes it a gratifying experience!! Went on a Sunday morning it was pretty quite and everything was closed expect for the bakery. Conveniently located close by the Disney parks (Epcot and Hollywood studios are a walking distance from what I noticed). Parking is free!! It felt like a mini village of its own and can surely dine, play and entertain yourself all day long. The boardwalk hotel exterior is beautiful and very relaxing.
