I purchased a 4 seater Hampton Chesterfield in mid-April 2025 and couldn't be happier with the couch, company, and customer service received. My experience was a bit more involved than most, but in the end I am very impressed with the company and will recommend them to friends. My existing leather furniture finally wore out after 17 years, so I decided it was time for something new. I am the type that is willing to pay more for something that will last a long time, and a Chesterfield sofa is one of those pieces of furniture that is associated with longevity. I am 6'6" and 280 lbs and need something stout that will hold up because I want it to last 20+ years. After some research, I decided on Distinctive Chesterfields based on reviews, pricing, and sales discounts. I ordered the 4 seater with aniline leather and upgraded spring package. I decided on the upgrade because I figured springs would make it hold up to my size longer. I also wanted a 4 seater so I can take naps without curling up. It's so long I don't touch either end when stretched out, which is exactly what I wanted. I received the couch at the end of June 2025. It arrived in great condition, but they forgot to ship the legs. I reached out to Ruth Olbrych (the U.S. rep) who promptly responded and had the legs shipped from England. It quickly became apparent the springs were a bit noisy, sounding like sitting on an old mattress. While happy with everything else about the couch, I reached out to Ruth as I didn't want to keep a couch that squeaked. She assured me this wasn't normal for the couches and must have been a defective spring unit. I'm sure she would have taken the couch back and refunded my money, but she made me a better offer: Distinctive would make me a new couch without the upgraded springs, let me keep the existing couch until the new one arrived, and swap them out at no cost to me. I was not on the hook for any additional shipping. Additionally, they would refund the upgraded cost of the springs! I happily accepted. Fast forward 2 more months, my replacement couch has arrived and doesn't make any sounds at all. It's also very comfortable. Perfect! There are a couple small areas (less than quarter size) where the rubbing of the packing material on the couch has worn off a little of the leather. I once again reached out to Ruth and she is having someone come out to fix the spots. I have been thoroughly impressed with Distinctive and Ruth especially. She has been very responsive and gone above and beyond to ensure that I am satisfied with my purchase. The couch quality is excellent, sturdy, and well made. I want to say thank you to Ruth Olbrych and the Distinctive Chesterfields USA company for making my dream and wish come true. My new living room set (2 chairs and sofa) is perfect, I could not ask for better. I am 6 foot 2 and an amputee, the biggest challenge for me is getting out of furniture to an upright position, due to most if not all furniture is made for shorter people. Upon contacting Ruth Olbrych (representative of company) she put me at ease upon telling me they can make the furniture to fit my height. I was so relieved, so the finished design added 6 additional inches to the overall height of each piece. After a short period of time I was notified the pieces were ready to come to the states. They arrived, were delivered and installed by a great staff. Overall, the experience was so rewarding and comforting to finally have furniture to accommodate my height, I cannot thank you enough for what you did for me. Great communication. The selection process is dependent on how one orders. I wanted a piece in stock so I selected a sofa that was available. Had I selected a piece made-to-order, the possibilities are almost endless! I have two cats and a large dog who all get on the sofa. The cats don't even try to scratch the leather. About eleven years ago, I saw this beautiful green chesterfield and I had to have it! The leather was very sturdy, we knew right off the bat, because the litter of kittens we were fostering had destroyed our dining room chairs, but their sharp little claws did not leave a mark on the sofa. Eleven years later, the only wear the sofa showed was that the cushions had flattened a bit. I called Ruth and she ordered new cushions. The color matched perfectly, the sofa looks new!
