The bakery is part of a store that you can buy an assortment of other things in. This was very interesting. I ordered a slice of the chocolate & lemon pound cake & several oatmeal raisin cookies. The cookie was just okay. The chocolate cake was moist & delicious. The lemon cake was yummy too. I left very happy.

The Market aka Dot & Pearls is my go to bakery for sweet treats in the Triad! I had to share the German Chocolate Cake I picked up for my hubby's birthday. It was absolutely amazing--moist, rich, and perfect coconut-pecan goodness. Beyond the cake, their selection is incredible! I'm obsessed with their cookies, red velvet cake, and coconut pie. Whether you're grabbing a treat for yourself or something special for a celebration, you'll find it all here. They also have fresh brewed coffee and a gift shop area of artisanal crafts and various keepsakes. The staff is always friendly, and you can tell everything is made with love. So many delicious options to choose from--it's a treat for a sweet tooth!

This is a great little eclectic bakery. Was in the areas and looking for a sweet treat and this place didn't disappoint! If you're in the area give it a shot, you won't regret it!

Bakery & gift shop. This place does both well! You could spend an hour in this store easily going through the variety of gift offerings. When I went, I ended up purchasing some Aaron's Thinking Putty. The price was the same as it was online, so I was pleasantly surprised that I was getting a good deal. I also browsed through the large collection of Christmas goods, but didn't get anything. I didn't end up trying the deserts, but they looked absolutely delicious. They are on display right by the cashier stand, so an impulse buy was hard to resist. The biggest drawback to this store is that it has a lot of items in stock and it is difficult to navigate without risking knocking things down. Granted, I did go on a busy weekend and it might have a more relaxed feel when it is less packed. If you want an eclectic offering of gifts and a nice place to browse, I would definitely recommend this shop. It does a lot more than your typical gift shop!

Adorable little shop / bakery that smells of heaven when you walk in. I have been to a lot of bakeries / dessert shops and not been hit with an overwhelming smell of deliciousness. I definitely wanted one of each but ended up with selecting the cinnamon pecan crunch and it was devineeeeee. I will for sure be stopping by when in high point to try 1 of the other 20+ deserts they have on display daily.

The cakes are the absolutely the best. The lemon velvet is to die for, as well as the Apple dapple, and the Hershey bar cake.

I'm not sure if they do consignment style shops within the gift shop, or if it's all under the same business, but it's arranged in a bunch of mini sections that all kind of have a different aesthetic. It was a bit maze-like, but I have no doubt they sell something in here for everyone. Like the gift shop, the bakery had huge variety. Who knew there were so many types of cake? I ended up getting a carrot cake latte and a heart shaped macaron. It was only after I had ordered my latte with oat milk, checked out (including paying the up-charge for oat milk), and waited several minutes that they told me they were out of oat milk. This was disappointing, as I paid my extra for the oat milk, yes, but also because I don't really want a latte in general without it. Regardless, it was too late, so I just told them to do it with 2%. The latte was okay but I didn't love it. It mostly tasted sweet and like cinnamon. Which I guess is more or less what carrot cake tastes like? The menu said it came with a cream cheese cold foam or whipped cream (I don't remember which) but it came out with plain whipped cream. The espresso was a little bitter - maybe burnt or shocked. The macaron was gorgeous, but didn't have a macaron taste or texture. It was hard like cookie. A macaron should be light and airy, and the shell should almost collapse under a bite. I had to chomp through this one. I am not sure if it was stale, a bad batch, or if their "macarons" are just "macaron shaped cookies" by design.

I was pretty taken aback by how many dessert options they had. Not only did they have a plethora of types of desserts, but they had sooo many flavors/varieties of each one. A dozen different variations of cheesecakes, several cupcake varieties, a dozen different kinds of macarons, several different cakes, tiramisu, tres leches, banana pudding, edible cookie dough, more cookies than I could name, brownies, eclairs, and more that I'm sure I have forgotten. If you can name it, I'm sure they have it. I've been looking for somewhere nearby to get a proper macaron (as opposed to a hard, macaron shaped cookie without the traditional texture) at a reasonable price point. This definitely met those criteria, so of course we tried a flower shaped macaron. It had the perfect, delicate cookie and that classic, light almondy flavor. We also had a brownie batter cookie, which was delicious and reminds me of something I would have saved on Pinterest a decade ago but never gotten around to making, much less as well as they do. Though there was a line inside, we were served super quickly by friendly staff, and found a nice seat outside in the sun. They also had abundant indoor seating. Maybe I'm the last one to hear about Sweet Dough and everyone else has been a fan, or maybe it's a true hidden gem. Either way, I will 100% be back.

Nowhere nearby have I found authentic Italian baked goods except for a former co-worker, whose Sicilian mother once made us delicious wine biscuits and pignoli cookies. That's what I was hoping to find today - along with biscotti, cannoli, etc. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. I got the pistachio lobster tail and a mixed box of cookies. The lobster tail was basically a crispy croissant filled with pastry cream that had no discernible pistachio flavor. Tasty but definitely more of a French pastry. The cookies were all supposedly different flavors but I couldn't tell them apart. They were a basic shortbread dyed different colors, had gummy, flavorless fillings and tasted old. There was 1 biscotti in the box and I'm sorry to say that my not at all Italian mom has made better biscotti. Definitely very pricey considering the quality. It makes me sad that there is still nowhere to get good Italian pastries here.

If this is what you're looking for, then Sift and Crumb Coat is the place to go! We needed cookies for a corporate event out of town, and found this place on-line, and from our very first telephone Oossie was such a pleasure to work with. I sent pictures of what we wanted, and she was very accommodating. Being nearly 2500 miles away, I was very nervous about this order and contacted Oossie a lot, and she never made me feel like I was bothering her. Fast forward to the day of the event, and unfortunately her delivery driver was hit while headed to our drop-off. Causing irreparable damage to a portion of our order. The bakery called us immediately, and then went into action and in a flash worked furiously to remake as many of the cookies as possible in order to fulfill as much of our order as they could. The cookies that arrived were gorgeous, tasted delicious and although it was less than we had expected, they were amazing! This event was highlighting the release of a new door knob, and the cookies shaped as a door, with the knob on them were spot on! Then, before we even contacted them to discuss the shortages, the company had refunded me for what we didn't receive and sent us a gift certificate for a future purchase. I've always said you can tell the true character of a business and their owner by how they handle their "issues," and in this case, Sift and Crumb Coat went above and beyond in a situation that was unavoidable.
