Lo and behold, the signage for this park appeared and I figured we could give it a shot. The entrance was easy, the road in was smooth, and before long, we were winding our way down toward the lake. There were no rangers about for our "day use" parking and found a fabulous area that was literally right next to the lake where we parked for an hour or two this morning. So very quiet, the lake was still smooth as the Saturday boaters hadn't started yet. Later in the morning, we headed back out. No, we didn't hike and we didn't check out the waterfall this morning. This gym is great for kids and birthday parties…read more Unfortunately, I am not a kid and it's not my birthday. I climb regularly and this gym has nothing to offer me. The routes never change and the movements are boring and don't flow well. The younger staff members are very nice and knowledgeable, but once when I visited a man (staff) was belaying one of the girls on the team and he kept agtagonizing her by whipping the rope and letting her slip, even though she pleaded for him to stop. I have not observed this method of "motivating" young climbers before and it doesn't seem to be very effective. Anyway, it stopped me from asking the nice man if he would belay me too. After 5 or 6 visits to this gym over the course of 4 months, I won't be back.
