I have 12 years experience as a Super Host without fail for short-term rentals. I have never encountered a professional cleaner that cannot turn the job in 5 hours and do it well. Short-term rentals require high-efficiency and attention to detail more than hotel cleaning. I trained Katrina and paid her for the additional 2 hours of training. During this first cleaning and training, it took over 9 hours and I was helping her. The second cleaning was a half-cleaning of one bed, one bath, clean floors-- what should have taken 2 hours took 3 hours. The 3rd time I hired Katrina was a check-out whole home cleaning of up to 5 hours. After being at the home 6 hours she still was not finished. My co-host had to arrive at 10 pm to assist, retrain, remind her, help her and take her home at midnight. Katrina's approach to cleaning and functioning is very inefficient, not thorough, over the budgeted paid hours and time. Her personal cleaning approach of how she cleans her home affects her ability to adapt to cleaning someone else's (cleans with paper towels, doesn't sweep before mopping, other wastefulness). She charges a booking fee that doesn't act as a deposit which is not industry standard, nor justifiable. We discussed twice and had agreed to a flat cleaning fee rate for the project hours that it should take a professional cleaner to clean. I implemented the Turno Cleaner App and checklist as I realized Katrina needed more support, a checklist and accountability. Katrina lacks integrity, and doesn't take responsibility for jobs she doesn't complete on her own, nor thoroughly and irregardless of the inconveniences, cost and disregard for other people's time and resources.
