Shahid Jones from DCI contacted me about a balance owed with AT&T. I told Mr Jones that I am currently not working, but that I could set up a automatic payment plan of $20.00 a month to resolve it. Before I gave Mr Jones my credit card information I specifically asked him if the account was being sent to the credit reporting agencies. Mr Jones stated that as long as I did not default on my payment arrangement, it would not be reported. 2 payments (2 months) into my payment plan I was alerted by my credit monitoring service that DCI had reported the AT&T account as a unpaid debt. I contacted Mr Jones at DCI today to try and resolve the issue, and he stated that he remembered our conversation from 2 months ago in great detail and that he did not say that my account was not going to be reported. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and DCI's only response was: "Diversified Consultants, Inc. (DCI) is in receipt of Mr. Taylor's rejection notice to our original response and understands that Mr. Taylor is requesting that the call recording be reviewed. The recordings are proprietary information and not to be released without prior consent from DCI." In other words, the recorded conversations only benefit the company and WILL NOT be released to the customer to hold the company liable for deceiving or knowingly giving false information to customers. I never thought I would be writing a positive review for a collection agency but this one deserves it! I had a collection reported from Comcast due to a miscommunication when I closed my account. When I was notified of a collection on my credit report I was horrified as I am trying to buy my first home. I paid the amount due even though I am still fighting with Comcast and was unaware that it would not be deleted when paid. I contacted the CEO Gordon Beck III via email and he emailed me back within two hours and on a SUNDAY! He told me to email his assistant Jennifer for further assistance. Two days later she emailed me confirmation that the item has been sent to all three credit reporting agencies for deletion. This company was fair and went above and beyond to help me. I have no experience whatsoever with collection agencies. After cancelling service and returning equipment to AT&T prior to moving, they continued to charge us for several months. We spoke with them multiple times to no avail, even though they admitted that they had our equipment. They continued to ask for payment for service we did not receive, then sent us to Diversified Consultants. We dreaded contacting DC, but when we did they were polite and professional. Phone calls stopped immediately. Follow some advice on Yelp, I contacted CAO Mr. Beck from Diversified and received an immediate response. His assistant followed up immediately and has contacted the credit bureaus to remove the negative info. We truly appreciate their accessibility and prompt action. read more

Had a consultant call me today about my Verizon delinquency. The consultants name was Rebecca. I understand I owe a small amount to Verizon and I understand that I need to pay it but this lady was the rudest I've ever talked to through a collection agency. She was sarcastic, argumentative, and interrupted almost every single thing I said. I could feel her just SOO angry through the phone for absolutely no reason it was sooo weird lol. Gave me 30 days to pay it back. when I pushed back I wasn't comfortable giving my bank info to a third party over the phone they were fine with that providing I understood that the reminder phone calls would still keep coming. I'm case you were unaware, it's bad business to accept payments and then refuse to remove bad remarks on a settled account. If you're going to be in this business you're gonna need to step your game up by removing that little clause you have that refuses to remove settle accounts. As others have said, they call repeatedly and then hang up. When I finally spoke with them, the woman was incredibly rude and hung up on me. Twice (I called the number back and got her again). I then called back again and got a supervisor, who was more professional. I found out the debt they were harassing me about had long been changed to a zero balance by the original company. I informed them of this and asked them to contact the company and confirm it for themselves, since they obviously weren't going to take my word for it. T-Mobile Account Collections (parents phone lines, me the account holder ) Despite the idea of having to communicate with any Collections company, I was pleasantly surprised with Diversified. The events that even landed any account that happens to have myself being the account holder was unfortunate and after all was said and done could have been avoided but all thay being said this company was up front and no bullshit very professional and clear with what needed to y take place and how everything would be after the balance was resolved. Also, and I do know it's gonna be case by case but with myself never having to deal with a Collections Company before they helped me out and came to an agreement that would work for all parties. Calling me about my husband's old Comcast account. Mind you we were not even married when he severed ties with Comcast. He settled the wrong claim with Comcast in August after we were told not once, but twice we didn't owe any money. Then we got a call from these people a month later. My husband called Comcast directly spoke with a supervisor, who said he would talk care of it. Two month later this agency calls me using a fake cell-phone number asking for my husband not me. So one of my roomates transferred the Comcast account into my name without telling me before she moved out. When I moved out the roomates I left behind decided they weren't going to pay the bills anymore since I wasn't there to collect them. So a few months go by and all of a sudden I start getting calls from these jerkoffs, telling me my name and birthdate are on the account (which they were). I'm confused at this point so I ask for the Social on the account, and they tell me it's mine. So I call Comcast and I can't even get authorized to see the account because the Social isn't matching up. So I call the jerkoffs back and trick a newer employee into telling me the real social on the account, before she realized her mistake and started LYING again telling me it's my social! I tell her she's committed fraud by knowingly LYING to try and trick me into giving them my money that I don't owe. She transferred me to a supervisor who was very professional but probably lied when he told me it wouldn't go on my credit report since the Social is different on the account. Count me in on the class action suit. These guys are the lowest of scum. read more

Update : Yelp please install a negative rating system. This company is the worst. After filing a complaint with the BBB listing DCI and Dish in separate complaints. I also logged and email complaint with the corporate headquarters of Dish Network. Again from both DCI and Dish Network I was once again treated poorly. I have returned the equipment years ago.I am also sure this account is over 5 years old. In any event I want to get rid of these awful people. I was told to return a call to Nicole Terry at DCI only to be told she doesn't really talk to clients. I now have Jonathan David to add to the list. Kala Parcell, DCI representative gave me the wrong mailing address and wrong account number, so my money is lost. A quick google search says that they are a debt company but I don't owe anybody anything, sooo. Their website has over FIVE different numbers you can "contact", different addresses, and even change their numbers to sound local. This company claimed that I owed them money, but when my attorney called to ask for proof they told him that the case was not with them and that I had to call them once I called they claimed they did not have the case, so I asked them why are they reporting to the credit bureau and they will notify the credit bureaus that it is a mistake but they did not want to send any proof that they were actually doing that. read more

This company has called from 2 different local area codes, sometimes up to twice a day. I don't answer calls I don't have in my phone book, so each time I ignored the call. I finally got fed up and answered today's call. The rep said she was calling from Diversified Consultants and asked to speak to me by name. I asked what she was calling about, and she said she could not tell me because it was a "personal matter" and would only tell me if I confirmed my name. I said "I need to know what you're calling about, you have been calling me for days" again she asked me to confirm my name or she could not tell me what she is calling about. That has to be illegal, right? I finally said "you can email me. If you have a phone number you must have an email address too right?" and she said "Fine" and hung up. I get frequent sales calls at my place of business from this company. I told one gentleman that we were not interested, he started being very rude (he even coughed loudly in my ear and hung up on me). I've told them countless times that our business is not interested in their services, but they will not stop calling us. Just got a call from these folks, claiming that I had a past-due balance of $34.15 from an AT&T Wireless account "opened in May 2017." When I told the rep that I have a currently open account with AT&T Wireless that is not, and never has been past due, she backpedaled and said "maybe we have the wrong person?" She then, however, gave me unprompted the last four digits of my social. I told her that there must be some mistake since I have three commercial lines with AT&T wireless for my business, and prior to that the only AT&T Wireless account I had was more than 15 years ago and was closed by me with no balance owing when I switched carriers for a time. After she insisted that the account was from May 2017, I told her that I was invoking my right to require validation of the debt because that was categorically false . She then said that neither she nor her supervisor could validate the debt so no I couldn't speak to her supervisor. Things got a little heated at that point because I know the FDCPA and its CA state equivalent and told her so. I advised that no, I wouldn't be paying this debt until it was validated and no, she wasn't (as she kept saying) "just trying to help me." Given other reports here, I guess I now need to keep close watch on my credit report because I have perfect credit and if these folks mess it up there will be hell to pay. read more
