I inquired about my survey a couple weeks before the scheduled closing. Three days prior, I was provided one from the original build 2014/15 and was told if I wanted an updated one it would effect our closing date which of course I didn't want to do to all parties involved. I was told they would assist me in lining up a survey separately afterwards and I'd just have to pay out of pocket for that separately. I said yes please. I also followed up by email approximately one week later and did not receive a response. This assist never happened. I'm still confused why 1) since I'm the buyer I wasn't simply asked if I wanted one added to "my cost" for a fence etc and 2) with one neighboring home being completed the same year 15' and the other a year later 16,; a very large shed and fence up against the back lot and a significant amount of green life between the properties; why one was not required to begin with. Not by choice, but I used landmark to close on the sale of my condo. And I'm glad that I did. The buyers of my condo were in another state, and with the current COVID-19 pandemic it delayed closing by one day, but Jay and his team was on it and hounded them constantly. They assured me that every thing will be ok and make sure that I got the profits from the sale on time for when I closed on my house. And they indeed delivered. Unfortunately I didn't use them for the closing of my house and I wished I had the choice to. The swag stuff was a nice touch, and their office was very clean and professional. The small number of folks that I encountered there seemed to enjoy working at Landmark Title. If for some reason I happen to go through the buying and selling process again, I will definitely use them for both. read more

This company is an absolute nightmare to work with. Our closing was delayed multiple times, they sent us our final closing number 30 minutes before closing, and then sent the wiring instructions after closing had already began. Incompetence is running rampant throughout the entire establishment. If you can avoid it, do not use them. Rude treatment, they don't answer emails, I'm pretty sure everyone works about 3 hours a day. I could write an entire novel about how unpleasant the experience was. read more

Two bad experiences. Rude treatment, not answering my emails, ignoring my requests. Stay away!

This was first time using Landmark Title. I dealt with the the Team of Erin Perschel and Howard Smith. Both were very professional, friendly and very easy to deal with. All my questions were answered very quickly. We were able to close one week earlier then projected and my buyer was able to presign which meant has was able to move to his new house 2 weeks early. Both buyers and seller's were very happy at closing. I will be using them for all my future closing. Thanks again. read more

Update: Despite the issues, David did follow up and make it right, so I revised my rating to a 3 star. I spoke to David Heekin Esq. at Landmark Title by phone and he agreed to facilitate a Quitclaim deed for my family and I. I followed up every few days for 5 weeks but nothing changed. This put us at risk of not closing our transfer by end of the calendar year which makes our taxes more difficult to file. read more

I would avoid using this group at all costs. although marika sevin was helpful, the owner david heekin was either too unsophisticated (giving him the benefit of the doubt of not being slow) or just didn't care. He couldn't grasp the difference between a lien on the property (not owned by the individual)a potential judgement against an individual. It cost me 2,000. Don't trust these people. There slogan say close with confidence. Don't believe it there all about the money and don't care how bad they do you. Purchased a home and closed with them, only to find out the owner jay Rocco was the seller. Him and his people really did some shady business when it came to permitting and dealing with the city. At first very friendly and helpful up until the city demands bringing things up to code then they leave you hanging and flipping the bill for all there shady business practices. read more

GET READY FOR DISAPPOINTMENT This was quite an experience. I was told that the lawyer on staff named David would be able to close my house fairly quickly. A month later Im still waiting. This is nothing more than lack of leadership. I have contacted them through emails and phone no luck. With David, your going to be lucky if you get one phone call per week after your deadline. I clearly was not a priority and Im fine with that. But what i dont want is to get strung along while my buyer is pulling their hair out. At least tell me up front that you have better things to do, different customers to help or you simply dont want my business. Then I can go find a company that does. I dont expect anyone to sit on the phone with me and hold my hand but i would like some kind of update. Maybe a 4 word email. Still working on it. or, I need more time. 2 examples is enough. I could have easily lost this house. Thanks Dave! Side Note Erin did a fantastic job trying to cover for her boss. All jokes aside- any title company out there that would like a hard worker email Erin. Shes ready for a promotion. She needs to be in an environment that she can grow. As a first time homebuyer, I was very nervous about the whole closing process and what to expect. Nikki was wonderful: professional, friendly, and had a great sense of humor which made her a great closing agent to work with. She explained everything in a simplified way while still making sure the complex paperwork I was signing made sense. She also showed me how paying extra each month would help me pay off my mortgage sooner and the scams out there that target new homeowners... clearly she and Landmark cares about their customers.
