Although I appreciate George helping us out with our list of miscellaneous handyman items, we would not have proceeded with the work had we known that the hourly rate was so high.

I tried calling him several times, and no return calls. This behavior is so unprofessional, and simply disrespectful. At least have the common courtesy to return a telephone call even if to say that you are so busy you cannot take on the extra work. I can respect that. I guess Chico, California just has so much work that contractors do not need to behave in a professional manner. He installed a new header in my garage for my new garage door. I was pleased with his work so I also used Mr. Rohrer to install a drainage ditch by the garage. I laughed, but it really wasn't funny, because I experienced the very same thing when I called them about a year ago when starting our last project. The girl answering the phone was very nice and even gave me some tips on how to finish off a concrete floor. But, when it came time to get a call back from the contractor, it never happened. I also called in 2 more times and not even a return/message telling me they were booked out. If he can't have the decency to return a call, I can't imagine (the nightmare) getting into a remodel contract with him.

We had a inexperienced person dig out enough dirt to expose the pipes and attempted a fix that failed and created a bigger problem. Phil was able to respond within a few days. He dug out much more dirt, made the repairs and filled the hole with sand, replacing the rocks on top so the landscape was not changed and no mess or pile of dirt left behind. He gave us a quote that was fair before starting, he did not go over the quote. He gave us a much more detailed invoice than others have provided, plus he took time to explain the problem and best solution and took before and after pictures We will call him for our next project or repair.

The blind I had purchased was the wrong item and Phil offered to exchange it and return to the apartment and install it. This one hour job turned into a 6 hour job. I believe his charge of one hour to go to Home Depot was fine. I thought 3 hours would be more than fair to complete this job. Phil charged me for 6 hours of work totaling $370. This is an extremely excessive and expensive charge.
