Three weeks ago, one of my beloved dogs was diagnosed with stage 4 mast cell cancer. As part of his…read morecare, I transitioned him from kibble to a lightly cooked diet to support him holistically alongside his medications. I visited High Paw Pet Supplies in Fairplay, where Rachel--an incredibly kind and helpful associate--assisted me in selecting several items, including Honest Kitchen's Limited Edition food. She mentioned she feeds her own dog the same brand and kindly assured me I could return it if it didn't work out. Sadly, my sweet boy passed away less than a week later. We used maybe one cup of the food. I returned to the store today to see if I could either return the product or receive store credit. Unfortunately, Rachel wasn't there, and the person who did help me was extremely cold and dismissive. She stated they could not accept the return because my dog had passed--implying that a return would only be honored if something was wrong with the product or the dog didn't like it. I wasn't asking for much--just a little compassion. This experience wasn't about the money--it was about the cold, heartless attitude I received while still grieving the loss of my companion. That brief interaction was incredibly painful. I left feeling hurt and unseen. I will not return to this store again.

With limited time left before his appointment, we were near the Fairplay area ,and found High Paw, online and decided to take a chance.. I must say as a rescue transporter,I've been to many local pet shops all over the country ,but this place had absolutely everything in stock ! The young woman who was working, couldn't have been more knowledgeable and personable, although a bit out of the way for me, I try to support local businesses and will continue to us High Paw Pet Supplies in the future for everything Duke needs in the future!

Traveling with a pet and finding a place to get him groomed can be difficult at times. Luckily,…read morethat was not the case. I was able to get a grooming appointment two days later. We arrived early, and was Misty, his groomer. She was kind and loving with taco and he felt safe with her. Taco was exceptionally well groomed and all my questions and more were answered. I highly recommend bringing your beloved pet here for all their needs.

We have been using gone to the dogs for a few years for grooming for our two yorkies. We have had…read moreno issues until this last visit. My wife picked them up, paid and left a nice tip as usual. It wasn't until after paying and tipping that the groomer said to her "Oh, if you happen to see a hole under one her legs it's because I nicked her a little, it's nothing she needs to go to the vet for." My wife thought nothing of it until she got home and this is what she found. This was a large wound for a yorkie. I'm upset because I'm a nurse not a vet but I can tell this wound could have used some stitches but by the time I got home from work it was too late in the night and by next morning the wound would have been open too long to close it for infection purposes. I waited a few days because it was Thanksgiving week and tried to speak to someone in store about this. I took my yorkie who still had the open wound. The man working that day is always nice, he saw the wound, and was kind taking my info to have the manager call me as soon as possible. It's now been a month and no phone call. We will go elsewhere from now on as Management does not seem to care to call for at least an apology.
