We stopped in here while we were on vacation on Dale Hollow Reservoir. We were getting ready to leave town and wanted to little breakfast for the trip home. In this little cafe you are likely to get called honey and hear the word y'all a couple times. Our waitress was friendly as well as everyone we ran into in the place. They also have music in the large room next to where we ate breakfast on Friday and Saturday night and they close about 8 p.m. The hubby did not care for the gravy too much he said it was pretty tasteless. I had eggs and Country Ham along with toast and found everything to my liking. Also as we sat there eating our breakfast they brought out fresh fried donuts and I was so tempted! This little cafe is right downtown Byrdstown and we will most likely eat there again when we are in town the next time.

Love this place! Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. Food is great and the value is even better! I had the catfish and the wife had the chicken tenders. The catfish was really fresh with a really nice corn meal crust. The chicken tenders are off the hook . I've never seen larger chicken tenders. And they were tender as could be. Comes with hush puppies and coleslaw, which are really good as well. Don't forget about the fresh made pies. Crazy good!' On Fridays this place is so fun as they have some Pickin and grinning / Bluegrass band. And they are really really good .

The food was good. I got the honey pecan chicken. The service was great. We had a nice young man that took care of us.

They had spaghetti with meat sauce as the special. It was really flavorful. Very small town feel. We would go back again!

The service is usually very friendly - they have no problem joking around with you...no dry personalities reciting from corporate requirements, here. One particular occasion, we called a to-go order in and they had sold out of peaches and cream fried corn on the cobb (which is to die for). The sweetheart on the phone literally went to the Winn Dixie across the street and purchased some, so I could have it along with their fantastic, hand pattied burger. How do you ask for better service than that? You can't. Their chicken and dressing is excellent, the hoe cakes are straight out of my childhood and the catfish....the huge, plate covering pieces of delicious white meat (no slimy stuff in theirs...looking at you, chain restaurants) are my absolute favorite. We've always had overwhelmingly positive experiences at Christine's and can't wait to go back. We've been there when they're short staffed and I've had to resist the urge to ask if I can help them when I see them running around like crazy. Instead of griping when something isn't perfect, maybe figure out how you could help? It's not like they are expensive. We have no trouble grabbing our own extra napkins or going to them to ask for butter or a drink refill, ourselves. This has only happened 1-2x but cut them some slack. You're getting good food at a really good price - maybe don't be so high maintenance. Or, go to a Michelin rated restaurant, instead, if you want your every whim indulged, the moment you have it. As for us, we'll happily keep Christine's as one of our favorite local spots and return as often as possible.

We were not bothered by that but some people may certainly be bothered by it. The waitress came to the table and asked if we needed a menu, she brought silverware and asked us what we wanted to drink. It appeared there was one waitress and one cook. We brought our drinks and asked what we wanted to eat and I said I wanted to pancakes with bacon and the I said are you sure are pancakes are really large as she motioned to about the size of a plate. I said yes I want two of them and I could have done without the eye roll at not taking her suggestion. The hubby ordered biscuits and gravy, eggs, hash browns, and sausage. She brought out our meal and asked if we needed more coffee or tea. It was a good breakfast and there was plenty of food to eat. We left there satisfied and I am sure when we are back in the Celina, Tennessee area we will stop in here again.
