Atlantic Fish Bar - Fried sausage, chips and a cod fillet with AMAZING CURRY SAUCE!

For those of you who know my reviews, you know that I only give one or five stars. This place gets…read morethe full five stars! Here's why. When I got to my hotel, I asked the man who checked me in for a recommendation of a good place to eat, so I responded to him with a question. I asked him if he were not working right now, and were out with his mates, where would he choose to eat? He looked at me with big eyes and asked really? I told him emphatically yes! He asked me if there was any food I didn't like, and I told him if I ever missed food, I didn't understand the question. So he told me to try this place, and asked if I was OK to go for a little walk. I was happy to. When I walked into this place I found it to be a corner neighborhood, fish and chip shop and it was very busy. To me this is a very good sign. I got there about 6:30, and I got desk clerk friend recommended, which was the fried sausage with chips and some curry sauce. I also added a cod fillet because I wanted to try the fish as well. The curry sauce and the sausage together were amazing! Oh, did I mention that the curry sauce was amazing?! Oh ya, I already told you how amazing the curry sauce was!! The fish was very good as well, the chips were spot on, and the curry sauce lifted everything on the plate to a new level for me. The curry sauce was nice and spicy and had a very full and rich flavor. As I sat and ate my meal, the place continued to bustle with people coming and going taking away food, and a few people sat down and ate as well. There are only a few tables in the place but they were all full the entire time I ate there and they must've served a dozen customers during the time that I ate. This place gets full marks for friendly service, smiling faces, EXCELLENT food, and all around great experience. Thank you for a wonderful meal. It is definitely a neighborhood staple and has a quaint ambience. A little out of the way for most casual eaters but if you want a delicious sausage, with curry sauce, look no further! Just GO for the curry sauce and stay for everything else!

They also do things like mushy peas and curry sauce along with the usual pasties and pies and saveloys. The place is always clean and the staff are well presented. Watch out for traffic wardens if you are in a vehicle as they hide along this stretch.

Love a good burger from Five Guys and have completely stopped bothering with the nearby GBK now…read morethat I can just get a burger exactly the way I want it without the complications of sitting down in a real restaurant. Small hamburger, small fries and a drink is more than enough for one person IMO. I have only finished a small fries and burger on one occasion and yet to replicate that success. I think two burgers and 1 fries is enough for two. They overfill the fries so you get a cup of fries plus a giant scoop dumped into the bag. Soft drinks are free fill and the drinks machine is an insane monster of combinations. All kinds of flavours you remember from your childhood, world travels or just remember from that weird dream you once had about Coca Cola. Service is a little slower than regular fast food joints but that's because everything is made to order. No big deal, reminds me of In n Out burger but tastes much better. The people who work here are always great to deal with too so that's a bonus. I took a star off because I can't stand how loudly they blast the music. Having a conversation is nearly impossible. It also just stresses me the F out after already being traumatised in the shopping mall (shopping is stressful!) The music isn't bad but I just wish they'd turn it down.

The burgers are honestly the best burgers I've ever had and it is actually my favourite Five Guys…read morerestaurant to go to but where this specific restaurant loses its points is for its customer service, the staff are neither welcoming nor disrespectful but Five Guys usually praises itself on its amazing and friendly crew members and the way they handle customers.

    Nando's - 1/4 chicken

In fact, they offer at least ten different levels and flavors of the peri peri sauce. I liked the extra extra hot one that is in a black bottle. Chicken is charbroiled in front of your eyes as well! I chose the 1/4th chicken with two sides, which was more than enough. Got the supergrain one that had quinoa and a few types of beans with a zesty cream sauce. Loved it, but was so stuffed after eating the 1/4lb chicken. It was a huge thigh with crisped skin and was marinated beforehand, giving it such juiciness! If you come towards closing time, you may get an extra piece of extra hot chicken like my friend did.

The ordering system on the website was quite buggy, but they did allow allergy orders to be processed as long as you phoned up to speak to a manager first, I did this and the manager seemed really friendly and helpful. The price for delivery is far too high, my standard meal cost is £11.75, they not only charged a much higher delivery charge compared to other systems of £2.50 but a further £2 as my order wasn't over £15 before delivery. The food arrived quite quickly which was a bonus with the Nando's delivery driver, but the food its-self was really bad quality, firstly the chips were so greasy, they were soggy, wet, bland and horrible to the point they were just inedible and the fact they included no napkins or cutterly or seasoning, just made matters worse. (Luckily I got something from my hotel bar) The chicken was also in a horrible box, which couldn't possibly be used to eat from, perhaps it was a mixture of it being poor quality and the chicken being greasy, the chicken tasted a little chewy and bland too, and on its' own without the inedible chips, just made it worse. From awful, greasy food quality at sky-high prices, if you even think of having it delivered, while also missing out on spending and redeeming loyalty points to a buggy online ordering process which crashed two times when I tried to place my order, this Nando's branch certainly isn't true representation of a chain I know and love and I'm a regular of, and Nando's Mile End is an insult to the Nando's name, reputation and brand and surely deserves a single one-star rating.
