I wholeheartedly believe this is the only review anyone will need to read before making their decision to book DJ Gudah. Planning a wedding can be a stressful process. You need people in your corner, you need people on your side. The right people who take the time to get to know you, make a world of difference. This is Gudah and his team. I could not have imagined my husband and I having a more wonderful time at our wedding. My husband and I are busy working professionals with 6 day work weeks, so we were wary that we would not find someone who can easily make time to get to know us. Gudah showed up. He made the time. He asked specifically about what is the vibe/theme of our party (old school Bengali/vintage Bollywood), conservative vs more of a lively guest list/wedding party, etc. This was especially important for me and my husband because half our guests were more on the conservative side and the other half were an uproarious bunch. Gudah understood exactly how to best cater to this crowd. We were on board right after our very first conversation, when he was able to clearly describe to me that of course he knows the significance of the Bengali tradition of a Gaye Holud and how in nuanced ways it is different from a Haldi/Mehndi. I cannot emphasize how much just that itself meant to us. Because there are so many cultural differences amongst the South Asian Diaspora, it was wonderful to see someone from the entertainment world being completely respectful of this. We truly felt appreciated and seen. He earned our trust and subsequently delivered flawlessly. Gudah and his brother Shahrukh took the time to really understand what our vision was. Shahrukh ran our Gaye Holud. It was remarkable to see how he was able to use the Bangla and Hindi songs in the many playlists we gave him to create a seamless playlist for the event itself. Because the list of events at the Gaye holud were a bit more orderly, with specific song requests for many different action items, we were sure that there would be some mishaps. Thanks for proving us completely, absolutely wrong. He couldn't have been more perfect - the Bangla and the Hindi playlist beautifully complemented one another. Gudah himself MC'ed and DJ'ed our reception. Prior to our reception, we had a small nikkah ceremony and a cocktail hour - where Gudah had organized a lovely team of live musicians to showcase their talent. My mother still raves about the live bansi player at our nikkah. Having missed the cocktail hour myself entirely due to outfit changes, we were told repeatedly that the table and sitar player were the showstoppers. At our reception, part of Gudah's team was a masterful dhol player - perhaps this has become more routine at desi weddings of late, but for our friends and family this was A MAJOR VIBE!! My father in law could not believe that it would be at his son's wedding in a country that is far from the rural town he grew up in in Bangladesh, where he would hear melodious tunes from a masterful bansi/sitar/table playing ensemble, the beats from a skilled dhol player, AND old school Bangla tunes. Aside from the excellent music, the 360 photobooth, CO2 guns...mega hit. Gudah is responsive, dedicated, genuine. He treated me and my husband like we were family. Every request I made of him he and I talked through from beginning to end - he was honest in advising me what would work, what would be too much. He needed no notes on how to work with the very...versatile guests at our wedding. Not surprisingly, several people had approached us for his contact information in the hopes of booking him. I had once asked half jokingly if he can create a dhol remix for "Baby Shark" because we've got tiny loved ones who would absolutely get down to it, and he took my request seriously. This is what I mean by unparalleled dedication. Before our event started, he had a concern about not being able to play a certain entrance song due to issues w mp3 incompatibility, and all I said was "I trust you, do what you think is best". He read the room, he knew the assignment, he did the damn thing. I know we can sing of Gudah and his team's praises all day, so, we also want to take this opportunity to thank Gudah sincerely for choosing us to showcase your talent. My husband and I had our wedding reception over the weekend, and I must say, the DJ and dhol player were absolutely fantastic! They were the perfect addition to your wedding reception and truly made it a night to remember. Shahrukh was incredibly interactive with your guests, and everyone had an amazing time on the dance floor. From the moment the music started, Shahrukh had everyone up and dancing, and they kept the energy high all night long..even kept it going minutes after the event ended (haha). His song selection was spot on, and he seamlessly mixed between different genres, keeping everyone engaged and entertained. The emceeing was equally impressive. He was able to keep the flow of the event going smoothly, making sure everything was on schedule and keeping everyone informed. What I loved most about the DJ was how effortless they made the process. They were always on time, professional, and had everything set up and ready to go well before the event started. There were other DJ's on the list and we did our due diligence and made calls to everyone but what stood out about DJ Gudah was he was responsive and wanted to have a conversation about the event and everyone's background as well as the friend groups and what everyone's family was like. He made an effort to consider the crowd dynamics as well as what the bride and groom wanted. Of course, communication in the weeks leading up to the event was as easy as a text message, call, or email and made himself available at our convenience despite his busy schedule. My wife and I had so much anxiety about our event and the small details that occur in between and the timing of it all. Prior to the event, we spoke with DJ Gudah over the phone in regards to the itinerary for the event and he gave us great advice and insight into how the event would flow. Of course the day of is nerve wracking but he put our minds at ease and coordinated the flow of events with all parties involved and it transitioned smoothly. He was the MC and DJ for our reception and his ability to read the crowd and get everyone moving was unreal. We have been to so many weddings, but I've never seen a DJ who could get everyone from the kids to grandmothers and aunties onto the dance floor for a good time. He also did all the wedding events and the wedding of 300-500 guests of my two younger sisters in the last 5 and 10 years! He has always come through and makes it better and better each time. My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Gudah for our wedding last week and he truly exceeded our expectations! We first experienced his work at two of our friends' weddings a couple years back. After seeing what an incredible job he did, we knew we had to have him for our big day when the time came. We booked DJ Gudah and his Team mid 2019 for my sister's wedding...from the very beginning DJ Gudah was professional, very communicative, respectful and always there whenever we had questions (day/night or weekends), DJ Gudah was always there to help us, guide and always provide professional assistance. I had my wedding in Dominican Republic (Puerto Plata) on Nov 25th, 2016. I flew in DJ Gudah, because I had seen his work and services provided at other wedding which I attended during my stay in NY (Queens). The DJ provided services for the ladies sangeet & reception. Me and my wife's family had the best sangeet & reception for the following reasons: - Great music; - Good transition; - Exceptional job on MC; - Being able to fill dull moments (e.g. people are eating dinner); and - No technical issues. I would also like to point out my wife is Spanish. He was able to provide great entertain both a Punjabi and Spanish crowed. We danced from the start of each function till the very end. No bullshit, it was so good that even the staff was on the dance floor at some point. The amount of money spent for his service and the outcome provided was well worth. We rented majority of the equipment from local entertainment store and the DJ Gudah brought his mixer and laptop. We came across DJ Guddah about 10 months before the wedding after locking in our venue at Leonard's Palazzo. he was highly recommended by them. Needless to say Epic Production was the easiest decision we ever made! From the music to the DJ, Videographer and Photographer he delivered on every promise!! Made it a seem less process the crew with Epic Production was so polite and respectful even when I was slightly losing it the day of lol. The photographer and videographer were amazing! Our event was Feb 4th, and we know that if we did not have DJ Gudah's help with the night, we would have had to work 5 times as hard to make it as great as it was. He is responsive and hands-on. Our guests loved this DJ as he was able to glue the crowd together to have a great time.
