Yes, he played music, but even more, he performed the role as our reception coordinator. Like many brides, I originally thought that I needed to hire someone who could just play music. After seeing many positive reviews of Michael's services online, my fiance' Justin and I met with him in person. During our meeting, we realized that Michael was the real deal and that we needed to work with him. Michael explained how he would do much more than just play music -- he would help with planning the reception events with us, he would routinely meet with us throughout the whole planning process, he'd make sure the flow of the entire event made sense, etc. And he did exactly that! We Skyped with Michael on one occasion and also met in person on a few occasions. We also met at our reception site with Michael so he could plan out the event details, the location of the grand entrance, etc. Throughout our planning, Michael also was very prompt to respond via email whenever I reached out with questions, ideas and concerns. Michael told us time and time again that our job as the couple was to just enjoy our reception; his job was to make sure that it ran smoothly. And Michael kept that promise. Justin and I danced, mingled, enjoyed our food, and had a wonderful time at our reception. We never had any question about what's next, where do we go, aren't we supposed to cut the cake at some point? When we needed to perform a specific task at our reception, Michael found us and briefly gave us a reminder. On the music side of things, our dance floor was crowded the entire night. Of course as the bride and groom, we were busy talking with so many people, so we were not on the dance floor too much. Following up with one of the bridesmaids next day, she said, "I was on the dance floor the whole night!" Michael's planning and organization services combined with his DJ expertise was worth every penny. I would absolutely recommend him to any bride and groom looking for a DJ -- and then some. The Vow Exchange though, is an awesome idea and probably perfect for a lot of different situations. We're not looking for a cavernous venue and the fact that The Vow Exchange holds no more than 28 guests (wedding party not included) is actually helpful. We're not feeling obligated to invite everyone we've ever met and actually have a reason why we can't. They have a several options ranging from just the space for an hour to the space, flowers, drinks, a photographer, and an officiant. Prices range from $200 to $1000. The interior is somewhat shabby chic with exposed brick and rough hewn beams, comfortable chairs and benches and wrought iron decor. There's a large overhead door that (I assume) can be opened if the weather permits. Our wedding is scheduled for May - we'll let you know how it goes and update this review then!

I turned to trusty Yelp to help me out and was sad to see the lack of reviews for wedding vendors. However, I did find one review for Buffee Ann and saw I could contact her for a quote. She quickly replied and when I decided not to move forward was sweet in her response to my poor life choices. Only a few days later I changed my mind and she encouraged me to skype with her before making another bad decision. I am so glad I did! From the start Buffee was energetic and encouraging while also allowing my strong personality to dictate as much as I could of the planning process. I have to say at the end of the day, hiring Buffee to help me out was the BEST IDEA EVER! If you're planning a wedding, get help from the very start. Buffee offered suggestions for vendors after we ran into challenges with a few of ours, and we realized she would have been a savior if we had used her from day 1. She worked with our bartending service to help resolve a difficult issue and found me someone to help with my hair (which received numerous compliments). Buffee even offered to add some much needed make-up to my very ungirly self. To say she was a fairy godmother would be an understatement. After pick up and getting prepared for reception my bartenders and I had to go through and re-wash almost all the 300 plus glasses that were rented. Ultrapom did the beautiful decor for my wedding at River Market Event Place…read more Unfortunately, my Saturday wedding fell on a weekend when both the space and Ultrapom had booked multiple weddings. On the Sunday following my wedding, Ultrapom and my venue - without my knowledge - left up my exact same wedding tent decor for another wedding to use, free of charge. They reused my lighting, draping, tent and chandeliers - all rented from several different companies. Seeing photos from another wedding using my carefully planned, multi vendor-sourced decor was devastating to me. Planning a unique wedding was something I spent months and months on - and one of the few things that distracted me from being diagnosed with cancer the year of my wedding. I wanted my wedding day to be perfect, which it was, but I also wanted it to be uniquely ours. In the days following my wedding I reached out to both vendors trying to understand how this could have happened. Ultrapom and River Market have not only refused to admit fault and apologize, but denied me reimbursement and instead rudely blamed me for inconveniencing the Sunday wedding that was "forced to incorporate my decor into their day." In our communications on this, Ultrapom said there was no way my decor could have been taken down in time before the Sunday wedding and even if it could have been - it would have come at a hefty price. These excuses were only told to me after the company used my paid-for design for another wedding. And unfortunately, Ultrapom posted a photo on Instagram indicating the lights took one person only one hour to take down with one ladder. The post was not only comically insensitive, but clearly showed this could have quickly been done in between weddings. I was shocked, saddened and truly disappointed by my communication with Ultrapom while trying to fairly resolve this issue. I requested an explanation for how this could have happened, and later following many excuses, some compensation for having paid for a beautiful tent to be used at a stranger's wedding. My phone calls and voicemails to try and talk it through went unanswered. After thousands of dollars spent with Ultrapom, the business will not even return a phone call. I hope this review informs other couples what they may face once the checks are cashed and your event is done. Thank you to Ultrapom - your work was beautiful, but your customer service for unhappy clients is appalling. Ultrapom is clearly booking more weddings than they can handle - to the detriment of clients. I would advise any couples trying to plan a unique wedding to be clear in communications here. Ask who else will be using the items you pay for. Otherwise, like me, you could end up lending your ideas, vision, and of course money, to whatever event follows yours. Good luck!
