You will be making the best decision if you use DJ Julius at one of your events. My wedding isn't until April 2019 and here I am already writing him a five star review! Over and over again I am floored by his professionalism. He's conducted himself in the most considerate and courteous way possible. At this point he has far exceeded my expectations. Weddings are incredibly stressful; Julius will not add to that chaos. He has actually been there to minimize the burden. This is a vendor that genuinely cares about the outcome of your event and your overall happiness with their service. He was everything we imagined and more! He turned out to be MORE than a DJ. He became our Visual Audio guy as well. He draped the entire ballroom, put up all the LED up lights, set up the spot lights, provided a projector to display a slide show, and played the absolute best music during our wedding. He had everyone dancing the entire night. We asked him to play Persian music, Latin music, and top 40s. He did a fantastic job mixing between these music types. He was so great that we had tons of guests asking for his contact info to hire him for their future events. DJ Julius was absolutely amazing and helpful. Anything we requested, if it was possible to do, he would do his best to make it happen. He is the most humble and honest person we have ever met. He never attempted to up charge us, or hustle us into purchasing anything more just to make extra money off of us. He gave great suggestions and through the process he continued to be extremely helpful and polite. He made sure that all the attention would be on us that night, and not on him. I can't say enough about him. We definitely plan to use him in the future for other events, and have referred him to friends. My advice would be to book him early. Julius goes above and beyond what a DJ should be doing. He has done so many weddings and events that he has an intrinsic understanding of how to stay calm and keep the party going. Here's my experience. Our first meeting he met with me in Orange County, pretty much at a drop of a hat because my wedding was supposed to be in LA and I had flown down from SF to LA to meet with my vendors. He even took time to show me another venue on that day because mine was on the verge of falling through. Let me just stop a second, and ask you to think about this, what DJ goes out of their way to drive and meet with you and then on top of that shows you other wedding locations? That's so incredible! He was super flexible and he worked with me on everything. On another meeting, he came to my venue, and he asked me questions I hadn't even thought of myself. He was incredibly organized and made sure he knew all the important songs: what song should be playing during procession, what song to play when I walked down the aisle, what song to play at the conclusion of the ceremony, what songs to play during grand entry... etc... Also, I was so busy with everything else, a lot of these songs I hadn't even thought of myself. I seriously asked him "what do you think sounds good?" and "what do you recommend?" like 20 times during that conversation. I fully trusted him. Day of the wedding, I saw my table centerpieces and wanted to cry- the flowers were awful (everything was wrong from color to types of flowers), I told my venue in advance which color uplights to use and when I saw the centerpieces I told them to ask Julius what would look good to mask the fact the flowers were awful. Then I saw my bouquet- half the flowers were wilted and brown before ceremony even started, it was also such a small bouquet. Julius took a photo of it and immediately started to reach out to florists to see what could be done to fix it. He literally ran out like 1 hour before the start of my wedding and bought flowers so that my bouquet could be fixed. If you are looking for someone to read the crowd, play the right music all night long, be able to easily transition between genres and languages, Julius is your guy. Pretty much every single person who came to my wedding told me how awesome it was, I kept hearing "it was like a serious dance party" or "I've never danced that much at a wedding" Julius will go above and beyond to make your wedding great. He is someone you can trust. He shows up and sets up hours in advance, has all the right music, and generally cares about you. Julius, a million thank you's for making my wedding a dream. Back in November I had a birthday party with a real mixed crowd, in age and culture and DJ Julius was PHENOMENAL!! Everyone was dancing ALL night and no one had a bad word to say about him. If I write a review on Yelp, it's not because the business is mediocre. As it usually is I guess in life. People rave about a place, or they find it so awful they have to tell the world about it. Well, DJ Julius is part of the first category. He is so good, I mean really, really good that I just had to write a review about him. My wife and I got married in 2005, and we were blessed to have DJ Julius at our wedding then. He is not only very good at mixing songs, and mixing them correctly by making the transitions seamless between completely different categories of songs, but his whole personality is simply amazing! Every wedding he has been to, birthday party, engagement party, outdoor concert event, has been amazing! My husband I just got married on 5/17/2014 at an outdoor venue (I know, both aghd and reception were outdoors!!). Obviously noise was an issue from the get go but Julius drove up from SD to Thousand Oaks 3 months in advance just to make sure he knew where things were located and how to set the system up so that we wouldn't be dealing with noise complaints. When the complaints started he managed everyone without incident and the party raged on!! We had discussed possible lighting upgrades since we had market lighting and lanterns, and he said he would take care of it. When we entered the reception site the sun had just set and you could see the most amazing blush lighting that added just the perfect touch to our decor....and all of this was done without bothering us with pesky questions or having the typical 'cheesy disco' look. Throughout the whole afternoon and evening, he was prompt, professional, authoritative when he had to be, and played the most amazing mix of songs I have heard in a long time. He even managed to mix Depeche in the middle of persian music because my husband is a die hard fan!! DJ Julius played at our Persian-American wedding and did a great job! We wanted a good mix of Persian and American hits and he did just that. He helped us choose certain songs and was even able to get us rare music selections that we wanted. He was able to edit some songs at our request. He did a great job at announcing different events and was very friendly and personable. At the close of our wedding at 1am, the dance floor was still packed. The Americans even danced to the Persian hits Julius picked. He was also really helpful advising us on technical and lighting packages and his prices are fair. Julius DJ'd our April 2015 wedding. My family still talks about how nice he was and how great he was as a DJ. I'm Persian and my husband is white so I needed a mix of music for our wedding. More importantly, I needed a DJ who would be able to change up the music throughout the night based on what the crowd was feeling. Julius did just that. DJ Julius just recently DJ'd and provided lighting for our wedding. It was absolutely amazing. First off, he was very professional in meeting and talking with us multiple times and learning about our requirements and preferences. He even gave us tips outside the realm of DJ and lighting and helped us with our wedding timeline quite a bit. He showed great care and empathy for all our concerns. As for lighting, the room was exquisite with the up-light, pin-lights, and dance-floor lights that he installed according to our requirements / wedding theme. The room was completely transformed. We even asked him last minute to provide lighting for the outside lawn and he was able to do that for us as well. Music was great. He worked with us to assign the songs WE wanted to the major events on our timeline. He also asked for a list of songs we definitely wanted to play (and ones we hated), so he can work them as best as possible into his list. I had to plan my wedding from somewhere other than where I was getting married. It was quite possibly THE most stressful time in my life and eloping was looking better by the minute. Finding DJ Julius was such a relief as I could count on him for everything. I barely had time to speak to the wedding planner, let alone DJ. Julius. Miraculously, he pretty much knew what to do, and let me tell you, the wedding was such a hit because of him. He knew what to play even though I hardly have him any direction. We hired DJ Julius for our wedding and so glad we did! He was so professional and easy to work with. We met a few weeks before the wedding to discuss music selections for our ceremony entrances, grand entrances, bouquet toss, cake cutting, etc. All the things I didn't even think of, but were so important! He gave us multiple suggestions and made sure the music felt "right" to us. He also provided us with draping and lighting for our ballroom. On the big day, everything came together so beautifully. The ballroom was draped in gorgeous white velvet fabric with lighting all around. He even had spot lights on each of our tables to highlight our floral arrangements. Throughout the night he was able to control the lighting around the room to virtually any color we desired. It really added that "wow" factor to the looks of our reception. Our guests have called our wedding the greatest ever - and we say, "Julius is the greatest ever." Not only is he spiritually centered (very important to us), a gentleman, and fun, he wraps all these qualities with mature professionalism. My new wife and I did the u thinkable and planned our wedding in a month and a half. We met with "Yaba-daba-do" types, and kids who wanted to tell us how we had to do our wedding. Julius was so different. We met him at our venue - a private club we belong to. We liked him instantly, and ended up inviting him to have dinner with us as we continued to explain our vision for our reception. He accepted it all, made some suggestions (which were spot-on), and we became friends. On our wedding date, he "lighted" us and our Sofreh, so the photographer and videographer could get perfect shots. The sound at the out-door weeding area was perfect. When the reception started, and we entered, he took the top off the building. Everyone was on the dance floor, dancing, jumping, singing - all night. The wedding planner had trouble getting people to eat because Julius had translated them all as dancing celebrants of our spiritual commitment to each other. The night was fabulous.
