Indoor place with lots of food vendors and different knick knacks selling here and there. I ended up at Analog Coffee. It's a favorite of my friend whom I was visiting. I had a Hojicha Latte and we shared an Almond Croissant. Amazing how full a person can get on one drink and half a croissant. There are so many different options in this place. Wish I'd had more time, room in my stomach and room in my wallet to try more but this was the morning of my last day in Calgary. The one stall that really peaked my interest was a Vegan stall that had all sorts of Vegan options including frozen ones that you could bring home and put in your freezer. Frozen vegan Congee really caught my attention. I don't know anywhere in Vancouver that sells that! The stall was called Hearts Choices. They were offering samples of their product. They all seemed to be Thai flavors of soup and sauces. Everything I sampled was sooooo good. Wish they would open up in Vancouver. I was really curious about their frozen congee. If I lived in Calgary I would have definitely bought one and brought it home with me. Oh, I really wanted to try their Vegan Mac n Cheese but it comes with a slice of toast and there was no room in my tummy for all that as I'd already filled up on Hojicha Latte and Almond Croissant. I also saw a crepe place in the market that I'd have also loved to try and well...lots of other stalls as well. So many interesting food options here. This year I must say it's more expensive $3.99 per pound up from last year $2.99 per pound. I was also able to get a container of mango salsa which sells out quickly. - plenty of parking in the early morning can be quite chaotic in the later hours.

I wandered the aisles for awhile with my little roller plastic basket. They've got lots of 'em, you can use one too. I piled it up with purple potatoes (making a purple stew, whip-whip, whip-whip), roma tomatoes, shallots, avocado, mangoes, and cabbage. Not to worry, I didn't use that all in one dish, although random ingredients from the farmers market could make for a fun cooking experiment. In total, $27.32. A little shocked at the final tally, I must say. I thought it was going to be more! Except it wasn't. It's open Wednesdays from 3-7pm, a few Saturdays as well. You can stop by after work, get good groceries AND have dinner there while listening to some live music. They even printed off the ingredients list of the three salads at the deli counter that are vegan so that I could read the ingredients myself (without me having asked for this). I ended up ordering the Spicy Tofu and Brown Rice Power Bowl, which was delicious. I knew that the bowl would take a few extra minutes to prepare because it was not part of the brunch menu but ordered it anyway because I didn't mind waiting. The kitchen staff came over to my table after I ordered and offered me a free beverage of my choice while I waited for my food. I ended up having a delicious latte with soy milk while I waited the few minutes it took to make my bowl. The bowl was a mix of tofu and mushrooms in a delicious sauce over rice with fresh raw vegetables. I would definitely go back for the Spicy Tofu and Brown Rice Power Bowl and to try other menu items.
