That's how we were paired with Andrew. Their communication and planning tools were fantastic. They provide an online portal where you and your DJ can both input and update everything from song requests to timeline details. I had several follow-up calls with Andrew to make sure he really understood our vibe -- and on the day of, the energy and music were absolutely perfect. The ceremony went off without a hitch, and once the dancing started, Andrew really shined. His transitions, timing, and song selections for the dance party were spot-on -- the exact fun, high-energy vibe we were hoping for. Our guests were raving about how much fun they had, and the dance floor stayed full the entire time. There were a couple of minor hiccups -- our ceremony ran long, and Andrew needed about an hour to reset for the reception (which we knew beforehand but did not account for), so there was a short delay outdoors in the heat. And there were a few moments of uncertainty for what was happening next -- but honestly, those were small things that only I or the planner would have noticed. We were planning our wedding during the pandemic and things were constantly uncertain as to whether or not the wedding would be able go to on. Iman and DJ Kia had routine calls with us to check-in and offer advice. We knew we could trust their opinions and flexility during the uncertain times. On the day of the wedding, DJ Kia was so involved with every aspect of the ceremony and reception. He knew exactly what to do, when to do it, and how to make our wedding day an unforgettable experience. He literally orchestrated our ceremony processional and was making sure everything was running smoothly. Everyone felt at ease walking down the aisle because DJ Kia was there to send them off. We were lucky enough to have Iman MC our wedding, and believe us when we tell you he knows how to put on a show. The dance floor comes alive with Iman on stage and everyone was out of their seats and dancing the entire night. Our cocktail hour ended up going over schedule, which pushed back our reception. It was no worry though, because Iman was there to quickly restructure the timeline and ensure everything ran smoothly. Even with unexpected issues, we felt completely at ease knowing he had us covered. He is such a genuine person who truly cares about his client's happiness. We also used Night Owls for our video production and working with them was a truly pleasant experience. They captured every aspect of the wedding beautifully. In just a few short weeks, we had our trailer and wedding video created, both of which were edited to our liking. They were extremely patient with us throughout the process and the end result is videos we still can't stop watching! Thank you to Brandon and the team at Night Owls for all of their hard work. At first we were thinking of not having a DJ and just using my MacBook Pro for music. However, due to the suggestion from the venue staff at Brookside Gardens to ensure good audio especially with our plans to be outside (though we ended up indoors due to the near freezing temperatures) we started interviewing DJs both from the venue's recommendations and on WeddingWire to see all they had to offer. We found Hercules Entertainment on WeddingWire and got to meet with Will on Zoom who showed us a presentation of all Hercules Entertainment had to offer. We chose Hercules not only because the prices were a good deal for great experience and enthusiasm, but also since in the uncertainty of COVID and the Omicron Variant, they would livestream our event for only a couple hundred dollars more. From the keyboard we rented from them for our aunt to play, to the excellent audio and amplification for the ceremony and reception, to the high quality live-streaming, to the DJing, to the MCing, everything made our day go even better than we could imagine. The livestream remains online and we are able to relive that day with it until our videography is ready. Dozens of friends, coworkers, and family who could not attend in person enjoyed watching the livestream which was of excellent quality. All 56 of us guests attending in person stayed for the reception and loved Will as a DJ and his wife who played numerous favorites including The Horah, The Humpty Dance, Cha Cha Slide, and my wife's favorite, Taylor Swift, who's hit Lover was featured during our first dance and Shake It Off during the bouquet toss.
