This review is is long overdue!! I would not hesitate to use DJ Mark again!! He DJ'd my oldest…read moredaughter's sweet 16 and was amazing to work with! He was very responsive and catered to all my requests! I was able to provide him with my preferences and boy did he deliver! He played all the songs I requested! I noted some specific times for changes in the music and tasks and he did them all! He even passed out the light sticks when the time came! I noted it for myself to do it and actually forgot, but he was on top of it and got it done! Lifesaver!!! His equipment and lighting beautifully lit up our backyard and set the ambiance! Love the uplights throughout!! Great sounds and kept the party going! He was super sweet through it all and even introduced himself as soon as he got there to talk to my daughter, wished her a happy birthday! He was just overall amazing. Don't hesitate to book him!

My husband enlisted services from Dj Mark for my surprise 50th birthday this summer. Aside from…read morebeing thoroughly surprised by the event, I really appreciated Mark's attentiveness on various fronts. He was SO personable that I halfway wondered if I had gone to high school with him (I didn't)....but it turns out we are connected - unbeknownst to my hubs - by six degrees of separation with some friends / colleagues in El Monte. Anyway, I didn't learn those details until later, later. Allll that being said, DJ Mark definitely kept the vibe going. He has an array of music and even honored requests for some "IYKYK songs" packed in his "digital music crate" that got my tias dancing on memory lane. Like, I'm talking rare disco! Because I was late to my surprise party he extended his stay and played on, which I truly appreciated. He was a wonderful emcee ensuring that I felt comfortable and very encouragingly gave me the floor to open the party with a speech. That is attention to detail! Part of his services included a Photo Booth. Mark was super responsive and easy to work with as we co-navigated accessing the pictures that our guests took. Definitely photos and memories to be treasured for a milestone birthday, thanks to Dj Mark!!

Bad Communication…read more sent friend across town after negotiating a price through Facebook Marketplace, only to discover that the agreed price somehow magically transformed back into the original listing price the moment it was time to pay. The listing was $339. I offered $280. The seller countered at $298 and explicitly stated, "298 is the lowest I can go for the FLX4." Fair enough. That's called negotiating. I accepted the understanding that the item would be sold for $298. I then asked for the address and business hours, which were provided. At no point during any of these conversations did anyone say, "By the way, the negotiated price does not include tax," or "there will be additional card processing fees." When my friend arrived to pick up the item, suddenly tax and card fees appeared out of nowhere. The final total landed right back around $339, which just so happened to be the exact original Marketplace listing price. Maybe that's a coincidence. Maybe the stars aligned perfectly. Maybe after negotiating from $339 to $298, adding tax and fees just happened to bring the price right back to where it started. From a customer's perspective, it felt like a classic bait-and-switch. The negotiated discount existed only until it was time to actually pay. What made the experience worse was the attitude when I called to clarify the situation. Instead of acknowledging how misleading the pricing appeared, I was met with a lecture about how famous the store is and how they've been around since the 1990s. Respectfully, how long a business has existed has nothing to do with whether pricing was communicated clearly. A business that's been operating for decades should be even better at disclosing final costs upfront. The product itself may be fine. The issue is transparency. If the real total is going to be significantly higher than the negotiated number, disclose that before someone makes plans, sends a friend, or drives to the store. Clear communication prevents bad reviews. Unfortunately, clear communication was exactly what was missing here.
