The tassste : of course my fav was jumbo chili shirmp , with a sweet tangy taste and spice tastes amazing with the rice ; if you are ordering it take it with the white rice and not traditional . The traditional is basmati fried and white is boiled rice Shortly behind that comes beef Bali sautéed with onions . The whole corianders fried wit this dish just hit the right notes and the onions were sweet enough , the sauce was great , the beef rendang was a little too spicy for 3 stars and I won't say that the five star chicken is a must fry , but it's dilute sauce so it goes pretty well with rice 2. The consistency / all dishes were consistently great The not so special ones are as follows imho The five star chicken , the snicker pie and the shaved ice dessert 3. It's a little food shack next to Tru Tea. They just opened at the beginning of September 2024. They sell Asian food, mostly snack foods like Bao, pan-fried buns and dumplings, but they also had General Tao Chicken, wonton soup, and Japanese curry. I got an order of General Tao Chicken ($6.99) with no sesame seeds and without rice, as well as the Pan-fried Beef Bing ($9.99) for my husband and I to share as a snack. The portion of the General Tao Chicken was small, like an appetizer, which was expected for the price. It was a bit doughy with lots of breading, but still tasted good. It was dark meat. The sauce was sweet and not spicy at all. The beef bing (there were 2 per order) were a bit greasy but had good flavour and the dough wasn't too thick. They have 2 seats indoors but lots of outdoor seating. I guess they will be mostly a takeout place in the winter. Service was pleasant. I spoke with the owner and she said they opened the restaurant because her parents "wanted something to do." LOL. Not sure I'd want to run a restaurant/food truck in my golden years, but hey, if it makes them happy. I'm thrilled to have a new place in the neighbourhood that sells hot foods you can have as snacks. My husband and I often go for walks in the neighbourhood and sometimes I feel for some food, but just something snacky like a samosa or bao, so this place fits the bill perfectly. The dining room was empty but the phones were going nuts! One guy to man it all. Efficient but alone. Swamped. No beer for me.... With all the take-out people coming in, it took awhile for me to even pay. No extras. No fortune cookies for example coming with my $40 order. 1 soy sauce. 1 plum sauce per big bag. hmmm. We usually come for lunch, but the photo attached is from their set dinner menu. If you come for lunch our go-to is usually the baked porkchop rice (classic), wonton soup, satay beef noodles, hot and sour soup, pad thai, and ofc their milk tea. The previous owner still works here from time-to-time helping out and the new owner that took over is also just as great. Just make sure to plan your trip here accordingly, as during rush hours, you may need to wait for an open table - but so worth it.
