Had to schedule a week and a half in advance for my license. Once there everything from taking the written test to getting my temporary license was a piece of cake. Every employee I encountered was helpful and friendly. I was told that my actual license would take 6-8 weeks to be mailed, but I got it in a week. It's good for 8 years, too! Remember to "do" anything at the DMV you need an appointment. You can make this said appointment on line or in person. Today we are coming to this place to get a drivers license. As time passes our children grow into adulthood and we take baby steps to let them get out into the world. Here we go again with the driver's license test. As you walk in the building the new system the DMV has incorporated works. Having an appointment ensures accurate service most of the time. For those going for the permit they offer a wonderful space that is enclosed for concentrating. The testing room is all computerized. It's a multiple choice test that you truly have to study for. The state of Nevada is one of the hardest places to get your license. The state has no room for failure. Study study study for the written test and the driving portion. If at first you don't succeed, try and keep trying. Never give up. When Connor, did not pass the driving instructor was very compassionate about educating him on what he did wrong. They want drivings that are going to follow the traffic laws and be great citizens at driving. Come prepared and make sure your car is ready and safe for the road test. Definitely recommend booking an appointment ahead of time! They now have a text service that allows you to wait in your car and gives you the exact time of wait. I had to wait about 8 minutes past my appt time but not too bad as it's not very crowded like it used to be. Difficult to get someone on the phone though or the chat online. If needed call or chat right at 8am when they first open to get in the line as it fills up fast and unable to get ahold of anyone all day past 830am on the phone/chat.

From the initial phone call, the woman I spoke with was incredibly kind and welcoming. Which already set a different tone than what I'm used to with anything DMV related. When I got there, it was just two people running the shop. They were clearly busy, but still made time to be present and attentive. The man who helped me (possibly the owner) was upfront and transparent about all the costs involved. I had a long SR-22 insurance lapse and if you're from Nevada, you know that's no small thing. Even though I ultimately had to pay the full amount per DMV policy (because I didn't wanna wait any longer), it meant a lot to me that they still tried to find ways to help reduce the cost. That kind of effort is rare. It wasn't just customer service. It felt like someone actually looking out for me. Their business fee was super reasonable too and they did a ton of work without charging anything extra. That kind of integrity matters, especially when so many other places will nickel and dime you.
