Yes, hard to believe, but I had a 5 star experience at the DMV Hollywood location. Went to get the stupid Real ID Drivers License on July 3rd without an appointment. I tried to make one in May, but all of July was already booked. So I decided to try a walk-in experience one day before a major holiday thinking it may not be so busy. I got all of my paperwork together that was required (Birth Certificate and two different types of bills with my name and address on them. I brought my SCE and Gas bills with me). I arrived shortly after they opened (8a) and it was relatively quiet. I was ushered into a room to take a quick Q&A on a computer. It took all but three minutes. I was then told to get in line near window 9 to have my documents approved. There were two lines and they were short and moving. Once my documents were approved, they texted me a number for my appointment. I only had to wait about 20 minutes before my number was announced. After arriving to my window for the in person appointment, my documents were scanned, I reviewed and approved my application, paid the fee, and off I was to the line to get my picture taken. That line was short and my picture was taken in less than 5 minutes. I autographed my name for the license and I was finished. Everyone that worked there was friendly enough. They weren't overly kind, but not rude at all. They were almost robot like. I was in-and-out in under an hour. Excellent! As I was leaving it was definitely getting busier. Going early seems to work best if you can't or don't have an appointment.

I usually go to the DMV Office located in Glendale, but since this place was closer to me, I visited this place for the first time. First, I would highly recommend making an appointment online. Once I arrived there, it wasn't very busy, but I'm still glad that I made an appointment. Once you check in, wait for your number to come up. Plenty of seats. Bring something to read in case you get bored easily. Once it's your turn, everything goes smoothly. You get directed as to where you should go next. The camara line for the Real ID had two people working the two camaras. Only bad thing is that there's no mirror which I hated, so I have NO IDEA how ugly my pic will be. Plenty of free parking. I will definitely come back to this location.

Lots of lines. Lots of people.

Does this location have a dedicated parking lot for DMV customers? Otherwise what is the parking situation around here?

Yes they do. I parked there.

I got married, can I change my name on my driver's license at this location?

You have to do so at the social security office. Then to apply for the real ID with your new name you have to bring here at the DMV your social with your new name, a proof of residency, your old license, & your passport. Make an appointment before…

Can I walk-in here? I went there yesterday and the staff told me that I need to make an appointment online before I can do anything. And the available date on the web will be like in the next 2 weeks or longer.

You can absolutely walk in. Just go with plenty of time because you'll be there for at least 3 hrs or more.

The scam was simple, after I paid for the BMW in full, the dealer did not send the title and reg. he hide out avoiding my calls. After over 90 days without the title arriving, what did arrive was a Tow Truck, who parked in front of the Gate at my home. I did have a copy of the Sales Contact showing (Paid in Full) which is what I submitted the the DMV Investigations Dept. When I needed to get a replacement ID, the online system failed me and required me to come in person to get a new ID. The check in lady I kiosk 9 is terribly rude and unprofessional, based on what I observed, as she served other people. Thank god I didn't get her as the person helping me. The blonde lady in kiosk 10 was personable and wonderful. She was friendly and eager to help. After getting my number, I was sent to kiosk 1. Marcelo was the person who attempted to assist me with the things I needed. He was this "straight" caucasian looking Latino boy with a side of major sass! He was ride with very expressive facial expressions, which was kind of entertaining. We love a masc fem guy! LOL. I didn't mind the sassiness and attitude, but he was feeding me wrong information left to right. I asked him about getting a new pic and he said I couldn't. 3 other employees near him was listening in and chimed in saying that I can get a new picture. He stayed quiet and eventually I was allowed to get a new picture. Before I left, I asked him another thing and he said that I had to go to window 21, which is where people speak to the managers, I later found out. This was the wrong instruction. The manager finally told me what I was supposed to go to get the thing I wanted. Idk if he is new, but he needs additional training. Lady in kiosk 24 was nice and lovely. Got me everything else I needed. Easy parking across the street. Make an appointment so you do t have to wait a long time to be helped.

I was given a number and was called to proceed to a certain window in less than 10 minutes. I came here to process my car's title and registration. I came prepared with all required documents (Real Driver's License, bill of sale, car title, proof of insurance) and was prompted to pay the registration fee. Also make sure to not sign the title until you are instructed to do so. Otherwise, you will need to sign an affidavit onsite. They accept cash, cheque (no added fees) and debit/credit cards (for a fee). I was able to complete my transaction within 15 minutes. They have decent amount of onsite parking and is also accessible by Metro lines 212 and 4. I highly recommend going to WeHo DMV for your vehicle registration needs.
