I came in to ship a package to Korea (yes, they handle international shipping to Korea!) and everything was fast and easy. But the real star moment!? I got my passport photo taken here... and tell me why it looks like a Kylie Jenner ID photo?? So good. Clean background, great lighting!! I wasn't ready for that level of slay from a post office. Super helpful! I called last minute on new year's eve, made it there in time to hand off the packages for usps, which was amazing; but the usps system wasn't available to print my labels til usps holiday was over on jan 2, the gentlemen took my payment and phone number and told me he'd get it ready to ship on the 2nd and will text me the tracking once the usps site was operable. I got the text on jan 2, and all went smoothly! Parking is in the structure and enter the mall on second floor and the spot is tucked in kind of corner near what seemed like the center of mall. If you need passport photos, go here. We took our passport photos at CVS and it came out so awful that we decided to give it another go. We tried this place since my Mom recommended it, and it was a thousand times better. They use better lighting and do some magic work, so our photos that we took 2 weeks apart look like we went back in time 10 years. No lie. Seriously, do not waste your time going to CVS or any other local drug store, unless you're already unbelievably good looking that it doesn't matter or you don't care how your passport photos look. I was surprised when they wanted to charge me $30 to ship a small package. When I mentioned that another place charged significantly less, the lady suggested that I go there instead. It was a 'take it or leave it' said in a polite way. I decided to wait until the other place opened on Monday and was charged only $12 for the same service. I needed passport photos ASAP and couldn't find too many places offering passport photo services that were open on weekends. I almost ended up taking my photo at a local Walgreens and am thankful that when I got there it turned out they didn't have passport photo paper - the person that took my photo took it from such a horrible angle that I did NOT look good. As a result, I frantically searched for passport photo services in Koreatown OPEN ON SUNDAYS. I read many reviews about this place taking good passport photos, but I was still skeptical due to the less than 5 star rating this place has. Let me tell you - if you are looking for passport photos, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO! I called ahead of time to make sure that I could walk in at anytime and request photos - they said yes. I also asked about the cost- $20 for 4. They confirmed the closing hour - 5 PM on Sundays. I showed up a little after 4 PM and asked about passport photos. They said yes, they can take the photos. The place has a mini studio set up with a white background, studio lights, and a camera on a tripod. The photographer taking my picture confirmed that I wanted passport photos for a US passport and then waited until I was ready. Once I was ready, he took the photos quickly and then told me to pay and come back in 10 minutes. I insisted on checking the photo before he did his edits and printed them and he allowed me to take a look - they looked great! I paid - it was a flat $20 by the way, no tax or anything added on top, and then I strolled around the mall with my friend. When we went back to pick up the photos, the photographer handed them to me in a small envelope. The people are friendly, the photo quality is great, and you will be happy with the resulting picture. It is worth the extra few bucks in comparison to your local Walgreens photo center. All in all, my point being - go here for passport photos. read more

Went to AAA to get passport phots, came out too dark. Even the lady at AAA said the photo was too dark so she didn't charge me... Then went to Costco to get passport photos, came out too bright. I know it's just passport photos and it's not something I will look at all the time but considering passport is good for 10 years, I wanted a photo that would look at least normal... Then, of all people, I got a referred to this place by my mother-in-law so my husband and I made the 45 minute drive to K-town/DTLA from OC and boy oh boy, sure glad we did. I am very happy with how passport photos from this place came out. Not too dark or too overexposed/bright. They also do some photoshop touch ups. $20 for 4, and $10 for reprints. I usually go to this place for sending my packages to S. Korea, as they offer far cheaper and faster times in comparison to other places like UPS, Fedex, etc.. And I've always had an easy time filling out the forms with assistance from the young lady and young man who work at the counter most of the times. The last time I had went the young lady at the counter helped me further in fitting my packages into a smaller box from my original bigger one to reduce the cost of my shipment. It was thoughtful and a gesture she didn't need to do, but helped me tremendously in terms of price. I recommend whoever needs to send their packages to use this place as the speed of shipment and price is very fair! read more

Came here for my passport photos. The photos were the most flattering photos that I've ever had taken of me. My boyfriend wanted copies for himself, the photos were so flattering. Shipping small packages LA to Chicago, it was convenient and quick, and inexpensive. There's no lines even though it was Christmas time when the post office was crazily crowded and have to spend two hours at least, there's only one customer ahead of me, the post person worked so efficiently with smile on his face as I said this place's good. Also it's really cheap to send small packages provided official box for free. Bad service, i dropped off my package on the 13th of this month and my tracking hasn't updated at all. Also, the guy wearing glasses was very rude when i handed my package to him when i was being polite to him. I went back to the mail center to ask if they had sent my package and they said usps usually picks up every 2 days and just told me to check up with usps. At all costs, ignore "reviews" written by simpletons like David L.. Seriously, he took the time to complain about a standard markup on stamps and fax services which is absolutely normal for businesses like Studio X. What the customer receives is extreme convenience by taking care of their postal or faxing needs in the same trip to Plaza Market for example. How much more money in gas and time would be wasted by making an additional trip and hassle with parking again to the post office or Staples? Also businesses like this that have a small mark-up on small dollar services need to have a minimum for credit card transactions since they are paying per transaction to the credit card services company. I have used this place frequently for passport photos and mailing packages domestically and to Korea and have always experienced great customer service. Their Hyundai package delivery service to Korea is especially well-priced - comes in handy during Christmas and birthdays with our relatives over there. As for David L. saying he was treated like a criminal, maybe he should take a good look at his photo and re-examine his behavior when doing business with places like Studio X. I really HATE this place with a passion. It may be the only time I have ever actually yelled at someone in public. Anyone who knows me know that I don't lose my temper easily but I seriously lost it at their insolence. I had to have a special photo developed for a family member's funeral and they assured me that it will be ready on time (I came to them 3 days before the funeral). I came by to pick up the photo few hours before the funeral (as I was told to) but they hadn't even started photo-shopping yet! Some young chick at the counter tried to argue that I told them I didn't need it until the next day (uh, I would know EXACTLY WHEN a family member's funeral is, you dumb c**t!). An older guy there hurriedly photo-shopped and printed the photo and offered a discount - I was SO UPSET that I just accepted the d/c price and left. The result of their overall incompetence, rudeness, and shi*tiness? The funeral photo was blurry and made one of the worst and most painful days of my entire life even MORE upsetting. Don't provide this store any business. They have poor customer service, over charge for stamps so a stamp that says how much the value would be charged for more. Faxing documents cost $2 per page which is ridiculous. I rather either go to Staples which charges $1.99 for the first page and $1.25 for each additional page. They Charge for the coversheet and will refuse a credit card transaction that is below $20. If you do not have the cash the manager of all people will expect you to leave something as though you are a criminal. My standards were already set low for this place in comparison to a large company but seriously I don't appreciate being treated with such disrespect. It is so convenient compared to the post offices in the area. I always have to stand in line for half an hour at the post office but here they are very quick and never take longer than five to ten minutes. I was truly furious at the way they run business. There was a dumb ass lady clerk who knew absolutely nothing about usps. Long story short, she forced me to spend more dollars in order to use my debit card there. No cards for under 10 dollars. She told me i could buy their over priced envelops to make 10 dollars worth of usps cost. Hah! I said no i would go somewhere else. She said she couldn't refund the stamps that she printed out.... The employees and the owner are rude, clueless and do not understand the meaning of customer service. In addition, they charge you for everything. (also overcharged me for stamps). For example, they charged me for taping up my small box ($1). I've been to other places where they provide this as a service (literally costs 2 cents).
