So today is the day I came in, to take a new photo, and convert my ID into a Real ID, vision test (stated it's mandatory), and my documents. Arrived around 9:05am, agent by the door told me they can only check us in 10 mins prior to our appointment. I sat and waited til it was 9:20, and checked in on my text link. Was called at 9:41, Agent Christian at Window #8 helped me. He is very nice and professional. He saw on file that I have a Real ID for my regular one which I was surprised. He helped me cancel that one and move to my DL. He informed me it will take a few minutes, he'll call my number back or another agent will. Sat and waited again, 5-10 minutes later, I was called up again. Paid $46, did my vision test. I hate the glass that's there because it glares a little bit. Christian said I can step to the side so it doesn't glare. Which I notice a lot of agents let us do which is fair. I took my photo and I was out by 10:15. Con- The documents they ask you to bring in, proof of residency needs to be updated. I understand it should be most current of date and they won't accept looking at our mobile phones to verify, however for me, I have lots of mail and bills are paperless. I had to pay extra for my bank and car insurance to mail me a paper copy. I couldn't use my health insurance because it was from 3/2026, which is pass 90 days. And if I uploaded them online already, why do I need to bring them in!

I was applying for a temporary disabled placard. DMV staffer asked me was it for myself to which I answered yes. She asked me for my cell# and assigned me an alpha numeric number beginning with alpha E. I found a seat and waited. Within 1/2 hour my alpha numeric number was called in addition to receiving a text. I went to window 17 as instructed. There I handed my application and CDL. I paid $6 for the placard. (Not including $25 for the doctor signed application at my doctor's office). The DMV staffer keyed in some info. Then I was handed my temporary placard. I left relieved the appointment was over.

I got the check-in text exactly 10 minutes before my scheduled appointment. Immediately I was sent to an open window where a DMV employee was waiting. She politely and quickly led me through the fingerprint, onscreen application review, renewal fee payment and vision check. After handing me my interim license she directed me to the photographing station where another polite agent snapped my picture. And then I was done after spending a total of only eight minutes! Incredible positive experience. BRAVO to this office!!

The procedure for check in was a bit problematic for anyone without a device to scan the checkin QR code. Also NO WIFI at this location could be stressful to someone with a device but no service. After getting my number to get my new License, went to the mens room to fix myself up before picture was taken. Unfortunately the mens bathroom STILL had NO MIRRORS. (After not having on the last time I was here) as I am trans and avoiding conflicts use the guys bathrooms, the womens of course had mirrors. Please put a MUCH NEEDED MIRROR in the GUY bathroom Corte Madera and GUEST WIFI. Would of been 5 stars. Employees were great and helpful.

After waiting the required three days, I attempted to request a replacement, but the system would not allow me to do so. That experience alone was already frustrating, which led me to visit the office in person today. The first employee I spoke with was direct and helpful regarding what I needed to do. However, my experience changed once I was sent to window #21. The employee assisting me there was rude, unclear, and difficult to communicate with. She handed me paperwork without properly explaining the next steps. She was wearing a mask and speaking very softly, making it difficult to hear or understand her instructions. When I asked what I was supposed to do with the paper, she simply pointed me toward the computers without giving clear guidance. Afterward, when I got back in line and asked additional questions for clarification, she became argumentative instead of helpful. I eventually asked for her employee number, and she gave me "C5." I mentioned I would take a picture, and there was no issue with that. Overall, this employee would greatly benefit from additional training in communication and customer service. Customers come in already frustrated at times, and clear, respectful assistance makes a big difference. Other than that, it wasn't a long line to be seen, which gave star.

So now they are ticketing for street cleaning when they don't sweep the street!…read more I know when they come. They didnt come. But the parking popo came and gave me a ticket anyway. Yes it was during the 'no parking street cleaning' hours (barely) but when they don't clean the street i feel like i shouldn't get a ticket. I think the city is desperate for ticket money so they can fund more stupid biking leaning rail projects or something. Also have you noticed that they don't put the brushes down since Covid? Why? Are they vacuuming instead? To me the street looks exactly the same before and after I want to do like Russian Hill did and get rid of the street sweepers. Gonna have to look into how they managed that.....

In April 2014, my car was towed for parking in a no-parking zone, and I was charged $700 for this single violation (this amount includes the ticket, towing fee, and tax). I found out this was because there was a white-colored sticker covering up the word "except" on the parking sign, so it read "no parking 7-9, 3-7, sat and sun"; in my hurry to make the event I had not seen the camouflaged sticker nor did it occur to me that it was odd to restrict parking only on weekends. However, I had a case because the sticker was hard to see and the sign had obviously been tampered with. I took pics and video of the sign. Picture: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0ByBotxOxRJkDLVNyUkFBdU4xcnRxUzJOREYtVG1DdDBqLVUw (note the sticker appears black only because of the flash of the camera. It's white in the video). Video: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0ByBotxOxRJkDY0E0bWZXVkxrMlA5cFlUdjlLUk9McVptVmg0 I schedule an in-person hearing and the lady at the desk basically IGNORED everything I said about pictures and video and REFUSED to look at them. She just said "we will send someone out to see if the sticker is still there". Predictably of course, weeks later they claimed that they could not find the sticker on the sign, and the case was closed. It doesn't take a genius to see how illogical and scummy this is, seeing that I already have video evidence (which they REFUSED to look at) that the sticker WAS in fact on that sign, whether or not the sticker had been removed since then. To escalate the case I would have had to pay $25, and of course I did not do that because I knew it would just be a repeat of what happened, and was definitely not willing to lose $25 ON TOP OF the $700 they already stole. It is now 2019, 5 years since the incident, and I still bear the stress of this event to this day. I still want my $700 back. As far as I am concerned the city of San Francisco owes me $700 and I think this burden will stay with me for the rest of my life.
