1 STAR -- Absolutely terrible experience at Cell Fix on Battleground…read more I had my phone screen repaired at Cellfixx about a month ago. Shortly after, my phone began overheating and the screen would occasionally freeze before returning to normal. Because Cellfixx advertises a 60-day warranty, I planned to bring it back and have them look at it. Unfortunately, before I could get back to the store, the screen completely went black and began flickering white on and off. I brought the phone back expecting the warranty to cover the repair. Instead, I was told that the flickering indicates the screen must have been damaged by some kind of impact or pressure and therefore the warranty did not apply. The problem? My phone was never dropped or subjected to any incident that would explain this. There were no cracks or visible external damage. I also use both a screen protector and a shock-absorbing phone case. Yet they essentially decided, without proof, that I must have damaged it and refused to honor the warranty. A quick google search shows that black and white screen flickering can have multiple causes, including problems with installation or the replacement screen itself. Given the timing and the fact that there was no impact event, I find their explanation extremely difficult to accept. So I paid $170 for a "premium" screen that failed within a month, then had to pay another $130 for a cheaper screen, which I was not even told was an option during my first visit (unsolicited upsale). With this money I could have bought a brand new phone. And then came the final kicker: when I got home, I realized they had returned my phone without the SIM card tray. It was simply missing. Since I have absolutely no intention of going back to this place, I had to order a replacement online for another $8 and spend an additional day dealing with the inconvenience of not having my phone properly functional. Also, every time I have gone to the store all of the employees appeared to be very young, teens to early 20's at best, including the kid that repaired my screen. I understand that age is not a indicator of skill, but it does not create confidence that the installation was done right, given the state of my phone. I absolutely do not recommend Cellfixx. If you are considering spending hundreds of dollars here, I strongly recommend going somewhere else. My experience was expensive, frustrating, and completely unacceptable.
