Although I had three excellent quotes, I decided to go with Dr Locksmith for several reasons: he had extensive experience, he had thorough knowledge of his product, and his prices were reasonable - not the cheapest, but good value. Moni is the owner of Dr Locksmith. During the quote process, I asked many questions and he replied with thorough and clear answers. In addition, he was aware of the gaps in my knowledge, and even answered questions I should have asked, but did not know enough to ask. That impressed me. For example, I did not know that there were several options for key material - not just the standard plastic key. He normally included the more expensive, all-metal keys in his quotes. When he mentioned this, I was thrilled to have the all-metal option. When he arrived and started working, he offered to have me watch. I was very interested. As he worked, he explained what he was doing and how the key features worked. It was fascinating. He had pride in his work. He was meticulous. His eagerness to share his knowledge was wonderful. At my old house the locks were always stiff in winter. I assumed they would be the same at my new house. Rarely do you see this in the Downtown Core. This particular one is in a Walmart, and if you get two keys done, they give you one brass key for free for $13~ for all 3. I got the pink version, which is suppose to be lighter in weight and also another Tiffany blue key. It turned out nothing like Tiffany blue shade, more of a turquoise and the laminated lettering resolution looks a bit cheap. If we could choose again, I would've opted for the Maple Leafs key next. I like their "ultra-lite" key version most, it's so much lighter than my other keys and it's a coloured metal as opposed to this laminate-like coating. Wonder why they don't have it in more colours. Now I have 4 key copies: original, 2 purchased and one free... more than I need and slightly more than I would've paid for two copies at Canadian Tire or independent shops, but I love my new pink key in my pink key pouch. Easy to find amongst my others.
