    The Green Monster Sandwich

Almost went to a place very close to this one but didn't because the prices were outrageous. Decided instead on the Do Drop In and man did we luck out!! Not sure where to even start on all the pros..prices were reasonable, service was beyond excellent..very friendly and helpful, great atmosphere with cute games to play while waiting, food was delicious, servings were plentiful and the cherry on top was their homemade ice cream!! I couldn't recommend this place enough. Will definitely be going back the next time we're in Portales and recommending it to all of our friends and family.

Great find! Driving through New Mexico and looking for a place for a lite lunch for a group of 6. Perfect place! Everyone had plenty of options; sandwiches, soup or salads. Fresh and delicious! The best part was the homemade desserts, I highly recommend the pecan pie.

Do Drop In was one of the first restaurants I found using Yelp when looking for places to eat around ENMU. From what many people were saying, it seemed like a relaxed sandwich and coffee shop where workers are incredibly friendly. And that's pretty much what it turned out to be. Their menu revolves around their signature sandwiches, although you're able to create your own. They have a variety of sandwiches, salads, and dessert items. The prices are affordable, and if you want to get a mix of items, they always offer a combo meal where you can get 1/2 a sandwich, a bowl of soup, and a drink. I've tried a few of their sandwiches, and always thought the food was pretty good. The strawberry club was quite refreshing, with turkey, Swiss cheese, strawberries, onions, and honey mustard on sourdough. It was pretty simple, and probably something I could put together myself, but it was for a good lunch. I've also tried their popular Green Monster, which has New Mexico's signature green chile in the sandwich. I thought it was okay - I liked the strawberry club more, just because the green chile was a bit too salty for me. Green chile soup came highly recommended by the workers, and I have to admit that it was fairly tasty. The sweet tea was also really good the first time I tried it; when I came back for a second visit, the tea was tasteless, so I opted for soda. Their coffee smells amazing, and the pies look so good. Sadly I never got the chance to indulge in their sweet treats, but I love how friendly everybody is. Even with quite a few tables, the place gets pretty busy during the lunch rush hour so be prepared! tl;dr - Comfort food at a decent price - sandwiches and soups won't disappoint if you're too lazy or busy to whip up something for yourself. There is free Wi-Fi; definitely a good place to study once the rush from lunch settles down.

This is my favorite spot in Portales. They have the best coffee and sandwiches in town. Plus friendly customer service and great prices. My favorite sandwich is the lumberjack though you can't go wrong with any of them. We love this place and it's a great local business that supports the community.

The Grand Re-Opening of the Do Drop Inn hasn't precipitated many changes in the establishment. For the most part the menu is the same, the decor is the same, and the overall quaintness is the same. I couldn't be happier. I was very glad to see that the new owners kept my favorite sandwiches, and even more glad to see them use the outside dining space for musical entertainment during July. Whether you want a place to hang out on a weekend evening, or just want a sandwich from a great local eatery, the Do Drop is probably right up your alley.

I stop in for a sandwich on occasion when I'm going through Portales. Always delightful service and good sandwiches at a very good price.

They provided plastic forks and dressing and croutons on the side. The only issue was delivery as they don't have many drivers so it took an hour or so. But they were very responsive and friendly it may have just been a pizza Monday March night for pizza.

For local pizza places to be successful they have to win the quality and customer service battle and this establishment does neither. Quality wise the food is ok but not great and overall their base red sauce is lacking in flavor. To make matters worse they messed up my order by giving one of my pizzas to someone else so when I arrived they had to remake it while my other pizza sat there and got cold. Nothing was done to try and compensate me for this mistake (no discount applied or comped added items like Dominoes would have). If their quality was way better or their prices way cheeper it wouldn't matter but they aren't. Overall if you leave a local establishment thinking you'd rather have gotten Dominoes it's not a good sign. It's not horrible so 3 instead of 2 stars but overall it's not great and for this kind of pizza you may as well go with the more consistent option in Dominoes ‍ Oh also they don't make their own ranch, they use Newman's brand. Another negative strike.

This Farmers Country Market is located in the same plaza as Ace Hardware, with plenty of parking…read more My husband and I decided to stop by this market this afternoon just because we were curious on the food items they sold and also figured we could pick up some vegetables and other food items while we are on our vacation. When we first entered the store (please note that there are cart wipes by the entrance, which is always nice), I was surprised to see a section at the entrance of different jars of salsa, a lot of which were made here in New Mexico. We also saw some boba milk tea and flavored coconut milk drinks with aloe (which are products of Thailand) and ended up purchasing a few. The drinks themselves are actually not too sweet and tasted pretty good. Pricing was ~ $1.29 per bottle, which wasn't bad of a price. The produce section (all the way to the right hand side if you are facing the back of the store) was small but had plenty of variety of both fruits and vegetables. We ended up purchasing cucumbers that were 2 for $1 since it was on sale. I liked the gourmet cheese section with the variety of cheeses available (which is right by the produce section). I also liked the wine and beer section, which was nice to see local beers and wines made here in New Mexico (which I ended up picking up a bottle of New Mexico made Moscato to celebrate my upcoming birthday). We ended up purchasing a few other items in the store, which pricing seemed to be fair for what they were. One thing that I do want to make mention is that we both thought it was kind of weird to see 2 (separate) people in the store shopping without wearing a mask. I know that an employee saw these people but did not bother to tell them (even though there is a sign by the entrance to inform customers that they are required to wear a mask before entering). But other than that, we had a good experience on this shopping trip and would definitely be a regular if we lived in this area.
