Very cool coffee place hidden away just off N Prince Street. This coffee shop is in the corner of a high ceiling shopping center that is being built up right now. As a result the coffee shop has a cozy quiet vibe while also feeling airy and open which is hard line to straddle for most places but this place hits the mark perfectly. Wide selection of food and drink options with a ton of unique additional flavors to choose from! Family friendly, good products and good service! The Java Loft has pretty decent coffee for Clovis, although I do think their tea is better. The espresso they use is not very strong, and tastes like regular coffee. The tea on the other hand is pretty strong and flavorful. My favorite tea here is the iced jasmine with honey. From my experience, the staff has always been friendly and courteous. Consistency on how drinks are made needs improvement. Sometimes I'll get my large iced jasmine tea with honey with no bags, sometimes two bags, sometimes the strings cut off the bags so nothing is hanging, or my ice completely melted by the time I get my drink. It's a great place to go to study, or meet people to do collaborations with however, I do find it a little churchy. But again, Clovis, NM is a part of the bible belt, and it is a small tow. I came here a couple times to discuss photography with a mentor, and went thru a photography book that had nude pictures. People around me were pretty appalled, and made comments and rude remarks. Chill out people! It's art, not an erotic playboy magazine! I've also hung out here and discussed public health issues with a friend, and had a person next to me complain on how I was talking about using contraception in public. People around you can be very opinionated, conservative, and religious and eavesdrop on your conversation. Other than the above mentioned, the Java Loft sometimes have problems with their sewer system. I've walked into here where it smelled like a dirty bathroom and walked straight out. read more

This place is a saving grace for coffee in Clovis, furthermore this coffee spot has a latte good stuff going for it ;). The coffee loft serves up a good brew in a casual nice looking setting. This place would be the Clovis definition of a coffee hipster joint which really doesn't have any at all, but this spots a gem. Service was really straight forward, the girl who took my order was nice but not really talkative. It was just a simple take you order and make it. She did seem slightly mean but the brew made up for it. The vibe you get from this place is similar to a normal laid back coffee place. As long as you stay in the cafe part and don't venture around you should be fine. The clientele here on the weekdays are mainly elderly folks and every once in a while you'll get a college student trying to keep that midnight oil burning upstairs. The coffee here is a the rising star. I got the latte served hot and it had a decent almost 1/2-1 inch worth of foam and the rest was a good strong brew. You expect a latte to give you a kick but be subtle and this place delivers. The beans are good and they don't skimp on it. You get roasty and savory and sweet depending how you like you Java. This place will make you a good espresso which should keep you going whether it be starting your day or keeping it going. I was just super surprised by the quality of the coffee. Definitely a place to visit on the weekend for a pick me up or grab a drink with friends Overall this place exceeded my expectations. I was expecting something nice but with a lacking coffee brew, but what I got was a good brew with good surroundings. Only reason I gave 2 stars instead on one was the drive-thru. It's nice there's a convenient way to get your caffeine in Clovis without getting out of your car. That said: Coffee Fine. Nothing special or stellar. Not burnt or bad either. Atmosphere Place was completely empty when we went on a weekday morning. You'd think a cafe would be a little livelier in the morning. This is one of the best place to "hangout" in Clovis. I also like that it is named Java Loft and they actually have a loft area where you can sit. The coffee is good, not to stout and the employees are kind and hard working. We visit here a couple of times a week and they remember us when we stop by. It's just a nice place. read more

This is a good place to meet with friends, colleagues or just come solo. They have a good variety of teas, coffee, dessert and shakes. First of all, the Christian store is closed. Second the coffee was alright. They ran out of cold brew at 12pm and their coffee was sitting in a coffee dispenser. The service was friendly enough. The iced coffee is good, but that's where the positives end for me. I've been here 3x and every time they take FOREVER! Avoid the Drive thru at all cost! I don't understand why it takes so long for them to make a coffee. I came on a Sunday March 30th at 1pm expecting the minimum wait time would be 5min, nope 30min later I finally received my coffee. Be prepared for a long wait. Java Loft has new management. I was there on Dec 22nd and the service was so slow. The new manager seemed over whelmed and there wasn't a good flow. One of the younger employees seemed to be the only person who knew what was going on. Drinks were ok but there were quite a few people bringing their drinks up due to mistakes. If they can learn a good flow (like one person work register and one makes drinks) they will be better. read more

My friend and I were excited to get a cup of coffee here, stood there for about five minutes. The three workers there did not acknowledge us at all. We looked at each other and said why is not one helping us? So we waited 2 minutes then left. As soon as we left the cashier acknowledged the next customer and asked for his order. Actually 0 stars would be better, yet that option is not available. What a slam in the face of retired military to state that you must be active duty in uniform to receive a free coffee/tea. If you're so cheap, don't bother with any type of discount. You think we need or want your piddles?! So the fact that my now 22 year retired, 70% disabled veteran doesn't warrant recognition by your sad company because he's no long on active duty is a disgrace to those businesses who truly honor our service members. Overall this is a great little place for a town like Clovis. Fresh coffee, open laid back seating area, and some tasty little sweets to enjoy with your drink. The service is a bit hit and miss. Mostly it's decent, but sometimes you do have to wait for an employee to actually notice you. That's about the worst thing I can say. I like going to local places and this is definitely local. I love the products, but the curly haired dude working needs to drink some product due to his 1st gear or neutral attitude! Needs some motivation and the sarcasm could be curtailed with his staff. Better communication skills are definitely needed. As a business owner of three businesses and employ over 50 employees, I would recommend someone motivate him to do better. Good solid coffee shop with solid coffee in any way you want it. They had another location on the base here and shut it down to replace it with Starbucks. No doubt a bunch of mid-western Air Force wives just had to have it. Idiots. But I digress. The coffee is good and its in a nice nook in the corner of a giant building which is strange but endearing. Been going here since they opened years ago. Some staffs were good, some not so good. The new manager is terrible! She seems nice enough but sits and talks with her friends on the phone, LOUDLY. Yesterday I stopped by and she chatted conversationally at the window with someone while we and several others waited to place an order. When a younger girl came to the register she was there long enough to ring up an order and then disappear in the kitchen and stood, doing nothing, while bagels were heated. Terrible service.
