He blended it so well with the rest of the wall that didn't need repair. The second job he did this year (2023) and it was MUCH bigger! He demolished our two tier front steps that were made out of wood. Then he built a new lower tier of 10 4' wide steps topped with bluestone. Then there was a fieldstone landing before the 4 8' wide second tier of steps, also topped with bluestone. In completing this job he rebuilt and increased the height of a supporting wall on one side of the steps and built a new retaining wall on the other side. Dave also built in some lighting on the lower tier. Dave was timely, provided good communication, cleaned up after the project, and gave amazing craftsmanship.

A few years ago I contacted them to clean my gutters but also install gutters on my garage. They sent me an estimate electronically, I signed the contract and they did the job shortly thereafter. Aside from the clean (and new) gutters, you wouldn't have even known they were at my house. This year I needed the gutters cleaned again and didn't hesitate to contact RIO. Oh and RIO sent me a reminder via email, reminding me that I should get my gutters cleaned but also giving a list of their other services (power washing, roof washing, tree services). Again I was able to engage them via their website, received the quote quickly, approved it, scheduled the date. Well the date came and they guys didn't come out but Gabriel called me saying that they got hung up on another job and it was getting late and dark out and he said he didn't want them to do my job in the dark (makes sense). He said that the guys could get hurt or miss some clean up. I appreciated that. A quick reschedule occurred. I really, really dig the electronic contract, quote, appointment and such. Oligerti Mucka of Gerry Masonry charged me $4,500 to stop water from going into my basement. After…read moretwo attempts to solve the problem the basement still got wet after a rainfall. When I informed Gerry that the problem persisted, he got agitated, defensive, and argumentative; blaming everyone (including me) and everything (including gutters and drain pipes) rather than accepting responsibility for his mistakes. Gerry tried to bully me into doing substantial, additional work (at my expense) which he felt would stop the leaking; all of which would be totally unnecessary had he appropriately performed the work he was paid to do. Soon after, Gerry told me to stop calling him. I then filed a complaint against him with the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection. After Consumer Protection investigators discussed the problem with him, he agreed to refund the total cost of the project, $4,500. To protect yourself if you are considering hiring Gerry Masonry, be sure to have a written contract which clearly specifies the scope of work for the entire project. If you do not get what you paid for, or Gerry otherwise fails to complete tasks specified in the contract, you might want to consider contacting Consumer Protection for help resolving the issue(s).
