I wore my hair in that same color for a few afternoons. I changed the hair color back after a few days because of some of the nastier comments I was getting from the locals who are senior citizens. I recommend taking a look at a few fashion magazines or bring a picture of the hairstyle(s) you are considering. Lisa had a problem with scheduling one afternoon... so I called to confirm my appointment at a different time. I thought it was because of her kid... it wasn't apparently Carl had gotten into something he shouldn't have... again. I wonder how Carl is doing now. Also,... Lisa will wash your hair and maybe give you a gloss treatment if you need one. I asked about special hairstyles for functions and parties while I was there so you'll know before you go. Lisa can do a few special hairstyles.... just request one a few hours before you need it done. I recommend making your appointment for before 4:30 PM as there are more appointments available earlier in the day or afternoon. I like the way the salon was set up before about 2000. I'm not sure what it looks like inside now though. I have recommended Lisa's skill set to many of my former friends who wanted a quick fix for their haircutting woes (or problems). Lisa is like a magician when it is with straight hairstyles. I've watched some of her clients leave happy for a few years (before I left Port Townsend, Washington).

Cancelations are costly for me as I need to hire a caregiver for my disabled husband whenever I leave home. Though, the worst situation was recently when I'd just been diagnosed with a very rare, deadly breast cancer. As I was about to begin chemotherapy, I wanted to have my hair in super shape--color-wise--so I could have it totally cut off & made into a wig for the year or more of losing all my hair. I left a message to that effect. However, no one had the common courtesy/decency to even call me back. It's so incredibly disappointing to have such indifference when one is going through such a health crisis...I'd expected a tiny bit of compassion.

At no fault to the owner, Marylou, aside from recommending Marshal, this was the absolute worst and most ABSURD dye job I have ever had. Please, if you have not, LOOK AT THE PHOTO and look at my profile photo to see a normal balayage. Marshal's "work" is so embarrassing that I've been putting my hair in a bun when I have to go into public so people will just think I'm one of those middle aged women who meant to dye their hair purple and won't notice that ONLY THE ROOTS ARE PURPLE. I asked for a balayage with a shade lighter on my roots and a shade lighter on my highlights. What I got was PURPLE...BRIGHT PURPLE, roots. I was expecting Marshal to say something at the end like, "Well that didn't come out as expected, come back in a few days and I will fix it." Instead, he pretended like it was fine and asked for $250. This was a gift from my mother-in-law for my birthday so I didn't feel like I could say anything at the time as it was her hair dresser. I just hoped he knew something I didn't and it would somehow blend in a week. After washing 10 times with lifter and dish soap I was still ruining towels when I dried my hair because my hair was running purple, something that has never happened with professional hair color. Finally, a week later I talked to the owner, because talking to Marshal was way too awkward. How could he think this was okay?! Marshal agreed that the color wasn't what was expected and agreed to a reimbursement. However, on arrival for the reimbursement there was a $100 bill in an envelope, left with the owner, and Marshal was nowhere to be seen. Just to be clear he took maybe a centimeter off my ends, no fancy cut, definitely not a $150 hair cut (plus tip because apparently I like to be abused). Looks like he didn't LEAVE Seattle, he must have been asked to leave. Stay clear of Marshal! However, Marylou is delightful!
