We were offered the choice of sitting inside/outside, and chose to be seated outside. It was a pleasant and sunny late September day, so seemed like a good choice. The ducks mooching around for scraps were fun to watch. Beer selection would be adequate - though they were out of our first two choices. Eventually, we got a decent beer, and the bar manager made an extra effort to get us something that interested us. Started with pulled pork onion rings. The rings were well cooked, and tasty. Pulled pork was tender and juicy. It was very much like a croc-pot style pulled pork. Price and portion make it almost an entree. Taco pizza had an interesting description. A good taco pizza is hard to find. This is not a good taco pizza. The crust is crisp and would make a good pizza, just not a good taco pizza. The red tomato sauce base was a very rich sauce and appropriate for many other styles of pizza, just not a taco pizza. There were other items on the menu that were intriguing, so I might give this place another chance. The setting on the lake is wonderful. It was, overall, a pleasant place to dine. read more

Mother's Day. Reservations for 6. Place was empty aside from maybe 5 others. Service was soooooo slow and server definitely was not a seasoned server. Several things were not available after we ordered them (we should have been told when ordering). We waited so long for drinks, then for one appetizer, then 5 dinners arrived and 1 did not, for another 15 minutes. We had asked about the size of scallops, server said big. When they arrived they may have been big at one time but there was maybe 3 scallops cut into pieces and spread out in a dish. It was terrible. 2 orders of steak tips ordered Medium were served pretty much less than rare and sent back. They came back medium rare. The meat in the reuben was full of gristle. While this restaurant has a great place on the lake it is not worth it any longer. I can say we've been previously and it was good, service has never been quick there though. And we will never come back nor suggest to others. read more

I cannot recommend this place. We went for breakfast on a Sunday morning. We were seating outside on the deck. I asked the hostess who "Rowboat Joe" is (looks like a bar that rents space literally off the deck of Dockside). She giggled and said she didn't know. We were seated and ordered 2 coffees. The coffees came right out and we placed our order. Problem was they didn't give us sugar or creamer. We asked for those and waiting a good 5 minutes before we could drink our coffees. Oh, and when we got them, no spoons. Used our knives to stir the coffees. The food was terrible. I got pancakes with a side of home fries. The pancake was flat and literally tasteless. The home fries were frozen. Not homemade. They also gave us a maple syrup dispenser with a sliver of syrup in it and ketchup with 1 squirt left. Just another time we had to wait to eat our served food. We did not see the server again and had to ask for a coffee refill and again for the check. I asked if the take Apple Pay and again was told, "I don't know." In all, it had a vibe of very unhappy people going through the motions. I definitely do not recommend. read more

Food was great! However the service speed and time it took for the food to arrive was absolutely soul crushing. We arrive around 5:30. Get seated. We already knew what we wanted so we were ready to order when the waiter came by. We did and heard nothing back from him until about 30 minutes later when he brought me a beer (I don't drink and certainly did not order it) and my wife also the wrong drink, but we figured they were having some issues so she just accepted it. In the mean time several other families were sat around us. They ordered well after us but got much larger food orders than a couple salads before us. All in all it took almost an hour and a half for our food to come out from ordered. There was a clear language barrier, I get it i'm an employer. No one want's to work anymore. But in the service industry at least have one employee who can go around and be like "Hey sorry, kitchens backed up sorry you have been waiting at a half full restaurant for an hour and a half" However the 2 other tables being served by this kid one of them who was there before us also seemed to be getting horribly slow service. Again food was great. We kept asking for water refills and got ignored so I had to walk into the bar and get it done myself twice. Good comfort food, people in my party had fries (which were incredible) chicken tenders (also really great!) and fried haddock - delicious! Food is mediocre and the service is terrible. But the prices... just ridiculous! The owners and managers don't care because they've got a captive audience, being right in town with people walking by. Every time we go to Dockside, I am more and more disappointed in the quality of food and service. When they first opened, the food was great and prices were reasonable. The haddock sandwich used to be my favorite as they used fresh haddock filets and not frozen. Well kids, those days are over. I had the fish and chips today and it consisted of 2 frozen fish squares fried up, with the lack of flavor one would expect from something I serve my kids at home. The fries were supposed to be sweet potato waffle fries, but the gave me regular fries, and then brought be sweet potato crinkle cut fries. Still, they were the best part of my meal. $26 (with $2 extra for the sweet potato fries) seemed high for frozen fish patties and fries. My family also had the onion rings with pulled pork appetizer for their meal, and that was still tasty. All the prices have gone up significantly with no sandwich or entree under $18 now. Service was less than best with our waitress taking 45 min to come back to our table and fill our completely empty drinks. My husband nicknamed her Houdini - drop the drinks and disappear. I get being busy, but half the tables were empty in our section, as well as outside. While Dockside is beautiful on the water, they are steadily losing their spark. Please bring back the quality you once had and lose the frozen seafood - you are still in Maine and can do better than that! read more

One of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. They serve a Seafood Bomb that is supposed to be a seafood stew. Ours had a couple pieces of shrimp and a small piece of lobster in a watery broth. Then they want to charge you $30-40 for that. Terrible experience and total rip off. read more

We visited Dockside Inn and Tavern and were blown away from the very start. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the views are so beautiful, and the food was incredible- full of flavor and perfectly prepared. What truly made the evening unforgettable was our waitress, Kacey. She gave exceptional service, was so warm and attentive, and was unbelievably sweet to our daughters, making them feel right at home. It's rare to find service this exceptional, and she deserves to be recognized for it! Her genuine kindness truly elevated the whole experience. We loved it so much, we went back a second time during our week-long stay in Greenville. We had a different waitress the second time, who was also wonderful and provided great service. But the moment Kacey saw us, she came by to say hello and, despite not being our server, checked in several times to make sure we were enjoying our meal. Between the outstanding food, the beautiful cozy atmosphere, and Kacey's top-tier service, Dockside Inn and Tavern has easily become one of my favorite dining spots. I've been here numerous times and never reviewed.. I must of been too hangry to stop and type.. this is such a beautiful restaurant! The view alone is phenomenal! Service is good and drinks are delish. My husband ordered the B-52 burger (there's a story behind the name) and I .. of course, went for the wings. The homemade chips are on point. Went to the Dockside for lunch today after having a great experience last year when we visited. We arrived just before 1pm on a Wednesday. My friend ordered the meatloaf dinner special which they were all out of . My other friend got a BLT that wasn't even toasted . I had a salad with grilled chicken which was good but cost almost $25 and portion was small. Husband had chicken tender dinner which was quite delicious. Service was great! * This review is for The lakeside Suites This was our first stay at Lakeside which is owned by the Dockside inn and tavern. It is located just to the left of Dockside inn , in downtown Greenville Maine. There are two available suites to book. The Sassafras, a two bedroom one bathroom and the Sycamore, a one bedroom one bathroom. Both have private balconies with beautiful views of Moosehead Lake. To book the rooms you can go to the Dockside Inn and Tavern, or the Greenville Inn's website or call either establishment. We booked with Erin , the manager there. She is fantastic! Communication is excellent and fast. She is extremely friendly and helpful and she made our experience at Lakeside a personal feel. The rooms are located on the second floor in the back of the building. You access the suites from the front of the building. There are two retail shops to the left and right of the entrance. After hours the door is locked and you can access it with a private code. Two flights of stairs up and on the right you enter a common room accessed with a code that gives entrance to the two suites. Both with there own private code. This gives a very safe and secure feel to the rooms. The room is decorated with a lakeside, modern farmhouse style. Beautiful wood floors, cathedral ceilings and wood accent walls that go from floor to ceiling. A very comfortable bed, nice bathroom and cozy furniture! The kitchen is fully equipped for all your needs and if you choose you can cook and eat all your meals in with a gorgeous view of the lake while dining! The room is extremely neat and clean and has a cozy feel to it! There is a private balcony with chairs and it has a beautiful view of Moosehead Lake and the docks in Greenville. We enjoyed seeing the boats come in and out of the bay. If your looking for a place to stay in Greenville or on Moosehead Lake I would definitely recommend giving the Lakeside a try! We enjoyed our time there and are looking forward to our next trip! read more

The hostess was incredibly sweet and prompt with seating our party. The cauliflower bites were so delicious. The boneless wings with sweet chili sauce were just as good! Standard grilled cheese for all the kids and it was a hit. The portions were extremely generous. This was our best meal while in Maine for a week. We traveled from Acadia to Canada to Moosehead Lake area are the Dockside Inn was by far our highest quality meal. The crab filled Portabella app, the lovely house salad, and the lobster stew we're all delicious! I paired mine with a blueberry ale on tap. The service was not great yeah but considering being short staffed (as everyone is in Maine right now ) we overlooked it and could see they were doing the best they could do. We were tired from the very long drive and just wanted to get take out and bring it back to our room. Since it was late. Dockside was the only place that would accommodate us. My husband called in an order and was told 30 minutes. I went in to get the order and was told it would be another 20. I understood. They are busy and understaffed. When the lady brought out my order I asked where the pizza was. She told me it was inside the bag. I was very confused and looked in and found it sideways. I took it out and as you could imagine it was squished to one side and cheese was everywhere. She said she will make another one. So I waited another 10 minutes was assured there was utensils in the bag, paid and left. Well, we had no utensils, no napkins, and my husbands burger had no top. My chicken and waffle sandwich had two burnt waffles and Buffalo sauce (which was not mentioned on the menu) was on the chicken. Not my taste. The women who answered the phone had a heavy accent and it was hard to understand her and she seemed to have difficulty understanding us. I will definitely not be eating here again. The place was packed on a busy Eclipse 2024 weekend, but the services was okay. The food however, was terrible. We each had the cheeseburger, which was obviously a frozen patty, and by the looks of it, was cooked from frozen, as my med-rare, was a bit juicier, but looked the same as my girlfriend's medium. That being said, they were absolutely tasteless! Not just bland, but lacking any flavor whatsoever. We ate it, as we hungry, and had been in the car for 4 hours, driving to Moosehead Lake.
