Doc's Leathers is a welcome anomaly on this gentrified strip of Queen West. While the neighboring stores in the area feature boutique teas and three hundred dollar jeans, Doc's has been dealing in biker accessories for nearly twenty years. Frankly, I've been guilty of casually dismissing it as well on my numerous shopping expeditions in the area. But on a recent afternoon, my friend and I were struck by the comedic juxtaposition of a Hell Angels fitted Santa Claus in the window and so we decided the store merited a closer look. Once inside, we were lost in a musky sea of leather jackets, boots, motorcycle helmets and motorbike gear. And that's just the main floor. Upstairs, you'll find antique records, model weapons, vintage gasoline cans and other interesting trinkets. The selection is truly amazing and bound to delight any biker enthusiast whether they ride or they harbor hopes of being a Sons of Anarchy extra. Honestly, it's like the Honest Ed's for biker and biker fans alike: cavernous and random. Numerous photos of customers over the years plaster the walls. Featuring various folks on bikes, it's a silent homage to bikers. My friend is just getting into biker culture and he was able to pick up a few accessories for his motorbike. I picked up a SOA tee as a gift for myself. The staff were very helpful and friendly when fielding our questions. I want to go back to try on some of their fine leather boots. I also want to go back to meet Doc, the longtime owner. From the pictures he looks like a bikerfied version of Gandalf. Epic beard. Outlandish stories to tell. I mean that in a good way. Stay gold, Doc's Leathers. Don't you ever move.

Been playing beach volleyball for the last year and haven't gotten an authentic ball yet. We had…read moreoriginally purchased a cheap volleyball from Walmart but the stitches have started to come out after less than a year. Of course you get what you pay for. Went here as two acquaintances had only good things to say about Canuck Stuff. The prices for the official balls were also lower than places such as Sports Check etc. They sell anything related to volleyball, badminton, etc. The store was quite busy as there were a ton of people checking out shoes and other misc. things. One of the staff Mike was very helpful and helped me find the ball I needed. He asked if it's for outdoor beach and I had said yes. He actually recommended the Mikasa ball which our friend had told us about. I know there were a ton of outdoor beach vballs but we were already set on a particular one. The official Wilson AVP was $44.95. Places selling this usually charge up to $60 range. The price was low at Canuck Stuff as the ball comes flat and doesn't come in a box (they pump it up for you), but rather a light plastic bag to keep it clean & comes with a cloth bag. That's fine with me! Better for the environment. Mike was very patient and kind. Even though he was super busy, he took the time to find the ball as well as answer my questions. He also added a little extra air to the ball and later told me to let some out as it was to help with the shape since it had come inflated. Great service and product. We will definitely be back for any volleyball or badminton equipment. Parking might be tricky on a weekend but I was lucky and found a spot. The store is at the right end of the plaza.

They often have many styles of shoes on sale (last year's models but who cares?) and I love the bags they give you when you checkout. I use them as my volleyball bag.
