I came to Subaru Montreal well-researched on the Crosstrek, and even though I was able to find the car cheaper elsewhere, I wanted to try my hand at this dealership because of the better reviews they had than others. Ilan was honest, knowledgeable, and didn't pressure me at all. I was able to negotiate a good price on an excellent used car, and Subaru Montreal was transparent and forthcoming enough that I was able to know the history of the vehicle and previous owner, and could buy without any real concern. A month later, I embarked on a 19,305 km roadtrip through western Canada, the U.S. (the South, the pacific coast, and mid-west), and even parts of Mexico. The car held up like a dream, and despite driving through rugged mountain scapes, desert, snow, and L.A. traffic, I didn't even have so much as a flat tire. It even served as a comfortable place to sleep with enough space to set up a bed in the back for those rainier/colder nights when camping wouldn't cut it. As others have pointed out, the nature of the car sales business can foster a dishonest and selfish culture (capitalism, amirite?), but the staff at Subaru Montreal have somehow found way to enjoy good sales while being able to sleep easy at night knowing they aren't swindling less auto-savvy customers. Buyer beware: "I'M THE DOCTOR. I HAVE THE POWER."…read more We're from the U.S. visiting Montreal. My car's driver side window was smashed in a parking lot. It's Friday afternoon and there are no repair shops open on Saturday. We had to return for work on Monday. I thought I was lucky when I called Optimal Vitres D'Autos who promised me that they had the replacement window in stock and would charge me $450 cash. Also, he said the downtown address on Yelp wasn't correct and they are in Laval: (texted address below). We arrive the next morning at 9 AM. But to our chagrin, no one was there to meet us, even though the person on the other end of the phone insisted we not be late. When "Gino" finally arrives, he demands the keys to the car saying " Don't waste my time, I am the doctor and you wait for the doctor. I have the power." When I reminded him he was late, not me, he aggressively yelled again that he was the doctor, and as I was his patient, I wait for him. My husband said,"Dude, relax, let's just move forward." He yelled, "I'm not dude! I'm Gino!!!!" Finally, he took the keys and headed back to the shop. 20 minutes later he came back to tell us that he had the wrong window. He insisted that my husband go to the shop area with him so he could prove that he had the wrong window. He had already taken the door apart before checking if he had the correct part. "Gino" tried to persuade my husband to pay him $100 for the window which was from a different model car. He would then duct tape a piece of cardboard into the 12 inches that the window did not cover. He also stated that the window did not exist in all of Canada. (For a Honda Civic, really?) Clearly, this man has no grasp on reality. We left, went to Canadian Tire, and bought a clear shower curtain and tape and returned to the U.S.

So imagine my dismay when I look up unexpectedly from my list and catch the son making secret hand signals to the father when they thought I wasnt looking(!!!)... Seriously, what kind of men do that? I pretended not to notice because I dont care what they think of me, i just want them to fix my car. But you know, a smart businessman (instead of making fun of me) would consider me as valuable customer... the BMW 850i is a famously expensive to maintain world-class lemon... my suspension on mini went kaput while driving. had CAA tow me to them. left key and a note…read moreexplaining as it was after hours. they repaired the car about 4-5 days later, but remember no appointment. only issue was the tire that got destroyed had to be changed so we had them put on the summer tires while they were at it changing the finished one. terrible job, two of the tires kept losing air. we took them to a tire changing guy who redid the job and now they're perfect. these guys are fabulous mechanics for minis and I guess BMW as well as other cars. when we called to tell them of the poor tire installation the guy was rude, condescending and a general jerk. bad day? guess so. took no accountability for the poor tire job. refused to admit it. flat out .. no way. so great mechanics. not so good at the tire thing. I'd still recommend them. maybe whoever answered the phone should try listening to the client and not be so darn defensive. sheesh.

Fortunately, I was told about Arie Auto. When I got there, Arie wasn't there, but a mechanic gave me first priority and checked out the car after putting on a lift. The service was top-notch - and I was not a regular customer! Highly recommended!
