This is hands down my favorite shoe store. They have a wonderful selection of comfortable and practical shoes and unique shoes that no one would be able to typically find in any of their local shoe vendors. This place goes outside of the big box to get unique shoe selections of quality, comfortable, and beautiful shoes. I went in today and had a tented. People asked me if I needed help. When it looked like I was ready, they were right there to get me the shoe sizes I need it and brought my shoes up to the front to wait for me. Buyer beware ... no such thing as free returns ... they will slap an additional $9.95 surcharge regardless. Do not purchase from this company. I purchased the same exact style/color and size of a Blowfish sandal. The sandals sent from Dodds Shoes said they were size 8.5 but I put them right up against the size 8.5 shoes I purchased from DSW and the Dodds Shoes were considerably shorter in length and width. Due to this and them not having a size 9, I requested a full refund. Well not only did they charge me $7.95 for shipping back with the label they emailed to me to print, but an additional surcharge of $9.95 was also deducted from my refund (and shoes were returned in both original boxes I only tried them on ... did not even walk inside the house with them on). $17.90 in fees for a $44 pair of shoes ... ridiculous!!! Horrible experience and will never purchase from them again. There are better choices out there without the high prices and add on charges to return. read more

We found a better fit locally and attempted to exchange the shoes via Dodd's website. Unfortunately, the size we needed was out of stock. Given our tight timeline (needed for pictures, travel and activities) and the shoe being unavailable, I requested a return without the usual return fee since we would need to purchase from a place that had the correct size available. On December 20th, I received a response saying they would not waive the fee. Furthermore, they told me that if I opted to exchange them, the new shipment wouldn't arrive until February 25th--far too late for our needs. They did offer a store credit, which is also something that would not be needed at this time, all alternatives that would keep our money tied up, yet not have our needs met. This experience left me extremely frustrated. Not only does Dodd's provide poor customer service, but I also now have to pay extra to return the shoes. If you're considering buying from a small business, be cautious, especially during peak shopping seasons. It's a reminder that sometimes, small companies can struggle with meeting customer needs, no matter how well-intentioned and as the customer service agent, Mark, reminded me for any future purchase, they just don't have the overhead that companies like Amazon would have. I ordered a Rose Sandal by Keen, and it arrived in couple days. I like the sandal shoe by Keen, it is very comfortable. The company, Dodds Shoe store, is the cheapest price compare to Zappos and Amazon. The company did not charge me for taxes and shipping, it is a great price. Reading these reviews makes me sad as this was not my experience at all. I ordered a pair of shoes for my Dad online in August, he needed a bigger size and since I'm from out of town it was months before I could physically go in and exchange. The manager without question exchanged his shoes for a larger size and they were so pleasant about it! Shop local, our small businesses need the support. Bought a pair of work boots here in March. (180.00) 6 months in and they have holes through the soles. Went in to see about a possible warranty, since I'm used to getting 12-16 months out of a pair of boots. I didn't have my receipt. I know for a fact they can swipe my card and bring up the transaction. The salesman says "we don't do that." I said, "You know what I don't do? Shop at Dodd's." So much for buying locally. read more

One thing I can't get used to is full service shoe stores. You walk around, grab a box, and try them on. At Dodds, you get nice and patient sales people who will do their best to make sure you get what you're looking for. I felt like I took up way too much time, but they seemed happy to get me any style I wanted to try. They carry some great brands. Totally worth dropping a few bucks on so you can get some quality footwear. Laramie is lucky to have such a great place! They do a big mail order business, so you don't even have to live here to get the best! read more

Unfortunately, I had a very awful experience with Dodds, and as a first time customer, I have definitely been put off and will not be returning. I had purchased a pair of shoes online, and upon receipt they looked to be great. However being suede I waited to wear them once the rainy weather had cleared which unfortunately happened to be 12 days after the 30 day return policy. The second I put them on I noticed the right shoe was sticking, missing the lining between the shoe bottom and insert. I called and they assured me I could send back the shoes and if they were indeed determined to be defective I would be issued a new pair or refund. However, once they confirmed the shoes were in fact defective, they were out of stock of the shoes I originally ordered and said they could only issue me an in-store credit good for one year. I called them and requested the refund as the in store credit would not work to provide me the shoes I needed within the time frame I had mentioned, and also because I was previously assured I would be getting a refund if the shoes were in fact defective and not in stock. Then the highest level of customer service representative refused to work with me or consider the situation of the defective shoes that was beyond my control, and after demeaning me on the phone, which I thought I remained very calm the whole time, he eventually just hung up on me. Definitely not the customer service I was hoping for that is advertised on their website. I will never be shopping here again and hopefully I can save others the trouble of buying a defective re-sold pair of shoes from them because they will definitely not work with you on the best solution for your needs. read more

I purchased a pair of boots from Dodds, nice boots, but didn't fit. Dodds didn't carry the size I needed so I had to order elsewhere. Dodds offers "free exchanges" but returns are $10. Called Dodds, they wouldn't budge and credit the $10 return even though they didn't carry much stock. Trying to support the little guy vs the Zappos of the World, but this attitude isn't helping, need to have some flexibility if you don't carry stock like the bigger guys. Placed an order on December 4th as a gift for someone for Christmas. That's plenty of time right? Wrong. Item was supposed to be here on the 18th. It's now the 23rd still do t have it and the last tracking info is from the 14th saying it left Las Vegas. I will be returning this item when it finally does come. read more

I'm a first and LAST time customer. Super disappointed in the misleading return/exchange policy. I tend to size between 9 and 9.5 in boots. In order to avoid paying return shipping I didn't order both, but only went with the size 9. When trying to exchange for the larger size (the day after receiving the shipment), I discovered only a size 6 remaining. Since I was trying to exchange in good faith, I called customer service hoping to avoid paying $10 to return my boots. I understand that the boots are popular and of course the company can't control the stock but neither can the customer so I assumed customer assistance would be helpful. Buyer beware, the only assistance I was offered was the option to shop around and ship cheaper through another company. I was told the return fee helps cover their cost to re-sell this difficult to sell, out-of-stock merchandise (but also told they were extremely popular which is why it sold out). Confused? Me too. In the future, I'll be sticking to companies with clear policies and helpful customer service like Zappos and Amazon. read more

Terrible policies. I ordered a pair of Haflinger wool slippers from Dodd's in mid-April and started wearing them at the end of April. Altho Haflinger is a high-end brand with a good reputation, after 4 weeks the wool on the slippers began to deteriorate, and now they look shabby. I sent photos to Dodd's, and they authorized a return - but I have to pay the return shipping, even though the item is clearly defective. In addition, the only credit they'll allow is a credit to their own site: I cannot get a credit back to my credit card. Their inflexibility on the issue of defective products stands in stark contrast to other online shoe companies (thinking of you, Zappos, Amazon, and L L Bean), and I highly recommend that you look elsewhere if you have any concerns about the quality of their products: they stand behind them only if you, the customer, will pay return shipping and agree to buy something else from them. Very disappointed with customer service. I received Oboz Sawtooth shoes in a box labeled color graphite/camel, but they were actually the shadow/burlap color. I called customer service and explained the problem and was promised that I could get a full refund by the customer service rep. When I returned the shoes, they refused to honor that. I appealed by email showing them pictures of the shoes and their own website picture, and other websites showing the shoe they sent described as shadow/burlap color, but to no avail. I guess giving me back $9.95 for the return shipping was not worth avoiding a bad internet review. That reflects poorly on their customer service. Beware before buying. They don't adequately check the shoes in the box before they send them. read more
